Lay Worker - Anna Chaplain

Our Lay Worker will work in partnership with clergy and lay volunteers to meet the spiritual needs of older people in Colchester and the surrounding areas,  including those whose independence and/or social engagement are challenged, owing to their advancing years, by:

• Offering spiritual support to older people who are living at home, in care homes and sheltered housing complexes; their relatives; and staff who look after them.
• Promoting the spiritual welfare of older people at home, in the Church and in the wider community.

The role will include working with existing groups within the church and in the local community, in addition to identifying new opportunities for work and outreach.

The post is home based, travelling extensively across the area.

Hours are 20 per week, to be worked flexibly.  

The initial contract period is 4 years.
