General Manager – Lyme Regis Development Trust (LRDT)

Location: Lyme Regis, Dorset (Hybrid, with on-site presence required)

Salary: £40,000 - £48,500 per annum (£19,000 - £22,000 Actual)

Hours: Part-time, 18 hours per week (flexible working)

Contract: Permanent

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for community impact and business growth? Lyme Regis Development Trust (LRDT) is seeking an exceptional General Manager to drive our charity and its property management subsidiary forward.

About Us

LRDT is a vibrant charity dedicated to enhancing the social and economic wellbeing of Lyme Regis and surrounding communities. Through community initiatives, partnerships, and our wholly-owned property management subsidiary, we create lasting change. Join us to lead both entities, shaping a sustainable future for our coastal community.

The Role As General Manager, you’ll combine strategic leadership with business development to oversee LRDT and its commercial subsidiary. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you’ll secure new income streams, manage our property portfolio, and strengthen community ties. This is a hands-on role for a visionary leader eager to make a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities

-Lead with vision to align LRDT and the subsidiary with charitable and commercial goals.

-Develop fundraising and income strategies, targeting grants, donors, and new property revenue.

-Oversee budgeting, financial transparency, and risk management using tools like QuickBooks.

-Manage the property portfolio, ensuring tenant satisfaction and compliance.

-Build relationships with local authorities, businesses, and community partners.

-Inspire a small team and volunteers, fostering an inclusive work environment.

-Oversee capital projects and drive innovative growth opportunities.

We’re Looking For

-Proven leadership and business development experience in the charity, social enterprise, or community sector.

-Strong financial acumen, with skills in fundraising and budgeting.

-Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with a passion for community engagement.

-Strategic planning and project management expertise.

-Knowledge of charity governance and compliance.

-Desirable: Experience in property management, QuickBooks, or the Lyme Regis community.
