We are seeking a passionate, community-minded charity outreach worker to support Community Care Initiative projects and partners initiatives. This role will be key in expanding our reach across Milton Keynes, supporting youth engagement, and helping to deliver life skills sessions, digital workshops, and community events.
The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, able to build trust with local communities, coordinate with volunteers, and support the smooth delivery of grassroots programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Represent the partnership at local events, schools, and community centres
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and young people
- Promote awareness of available programs, workshops, and volunteering opportunities
- Conduct outreach visits and assist with registration and signposting of beneficiaries
Program Support
- Assist in the planning and delivery of life skills and digital skills sessions
- Support facilitators during events, workshops, and drop-in days
- Gather feedback from participants to improve future service delivery
- Monitor attendance and engagement levels at outreach activities
Volunteer & Partnership Coordination
- Help onboard new volunteers and support their engagement
- Liaise with CCI teams and partners to ensure seamless coordination
- Maintain strong communication across all stakeholders involved in joint activities
Reporting & Communication
- Log key outreach activities, conversations, and community feedback
- Assist with monthly progress updates to highlight outreach success and needs
- Share ideas for improving outreach strategy and event engagement
Person Specification
Essential
- Passion for community development, youth empowerment, or charitable work
- Friendly, approachable, and confident engaging with diverse groups
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends
Desirable
- Previous experience in outreach, community work, or volunteering
- Knowledge of local community dynamics in Milton Keynes or similar areas
- Experience supporting events or group workshops
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity, especially in working with African or diaspora communities
