We are looking for someone committed to empowering young, LGBTQ+ people through advancing and advocating for their human rights by joining our Board of Trustees!
We are holding an informal coffee morning to meet potential Trustees with our current Trustees and Chief Operating Officer on Saturday 21st June - email now to register!
The X2Y board seeks to appoint fellow trustees who:
- Have experience of working (paid or unpaid) in the voluntary and community sector (or with transferrable skills from working in the public or private sectors)
- Can show commitment - Taking time to understand the workings of the board and X2Y, and regularly attending meetings.
- Are conscientiousness - Reading meeting and other papers thoroughly, and playing a full part
- Are confident:
- Speaking up at meetings and expressing their point of view
- Asking the question that no-one has asked, and querying why a certain approach is being recommended
- Not being afraid to ask for clarification
- Show common sense - Assessing the impact of proposals on member groups and bringing an independent view to discussions
- Listen well– carefully and considering the views of others
- Are committed, personally and professionally, to promoting equality and equity and valuing diversity and inclusion
Specific experience we are looking for:
- Diverse lived experiences (both within our LGBTQ+ community and beyond)
- Charity Law and Governance
- HR Management
- Fundraising – Community and Corporate
- Commercial Rental/Real Estate
