Job description
The Helpline Team Manager is a key leadership position within our helpline team, responsible for managing and supervising a team of Helpline Advisors. This role plays a critical role in the daily operations of the Helpline, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support services to our service users affected by gender-based violence and abuse. The Helpline Team Manager will work closely with the Head of Helplines and other key stakeholders to develop, enhance, and grow the Helpline service.
 
We’re looking for someone with a trauma-informed approach to supporting survivors. You’ll need to have good resilience and self-care, and a strong understanding of the needs of LGBT victims and survivors.
 
There is a genuine occupational requirement under the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003 for this post. It is considered essential that post holders have experience of LGBT needs, and impact of discrimination as the Helpline is run for LGBT victim/survivors of violence and abuse.

Location: Hybrid or remote options available (the Galop office is based in central London)
Hours: 35 (1FT - 5 days a week across a rolling rota, including evenings and out of hours safeguarding cover)
Contract: Fixed term to the end of March 2026 with the possibility of extension dependent on funding
Line manages: Helpline staff
Reports to: Head of Helpline
Salary: £34,534.57 pro rata - not including London Weighting (38,746.08 pro rata - including London Weighting)
