Job description

You’ll deliver tailored 1:1 and group emotional wellbeing sessions with children aged 8–13 in schools across Brighton & Hove, with a focus on developing emotional literacy, resilience, and coping strategies. You’ll also plan and deliver Year 6 transition workshops and collaborate with families and professionals to ensure joined-up support.

This role sits within our Safety Net team, which has supported children and families since 1995. We work from a trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective, with children’s voices at the heart of all we do.

 You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering 1:1, group, and class-based emotional wellbeing sessions
  • Building trusted relationships tailored to each child’s needs and identity
  • Coordinating support with schools, families and professionals
  • Managing a caseload and maintaining accurate records
  • Following safeguarding procedures and contributing to service development 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

·       Experience engaging with children and young people (ideally aged 8–13)

·       Understanding of emotional wellbeing, inclusion and child development

·       Confidence working independently and as part of a team

·       Strong communication and IT skills, including record-keeping

·       A commitment to equality, child rights and anti-discriminatory practice
