Kitchen Assistant

The opportunity available will see you playing a sigificant part within our mission supporting vulnerable adults in our community.

One of the many reasons people from our community come to the Oasis Centre is because they simply cannot either afford to cook a meal at home or struggle to even do so.

Job Purpose:

General kitchen duties as well as preparing and serving meals throughout the day at the Centre as well as supporting the Coordinator and the Next Step Volunteers. 

What you will be doing:

·            Preparing breakfast and lunch and drinks throughout the day.

·            Work closely with the Kitchen Coordinator to support the Next Step volunteers.

·            Meal planning and ordering in the absence of the Coordinator.

·            Cleaning of the kitchen as well as a weekly deep clean.

·            Any other work within the Centre that might be required.

Skills and Expeience Required:

GCSE Maths and English minimum 5 or above (High C and above).

A minimum of 2 years relevant experience (this can be from a wide variety of backgrounds).

Experience of working with disadvantaged people.

Experience of working within a small-medium charity.

Experience of working in a busy kitchen.
