Financial Accountant

We’re working with a leading Higher Education organisation who is seeking a  Financial Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who is looking to take ownership of financial reporting, treasury management, and financial controls, while also supporting and developing a small team.

The Role

• Reporting to the Group Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:
• Preparing and reviewing annual financial statements and supporting the audit process
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring robust financial controls
• Overseeing treasury management, cashflow monitoring and forecasting
• Supporting external reporting requirements (including UK GAAP, US GAAP and regulatory returns)
• Supervising and developing up to 3 junior staff
• Driving continuous improvement across processes and reporting

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Has strong technical knowledge of financial accounting and reporting standards
• Brings experience in preparing consolidated financial statements and supporting audits
• Enjoys working with detail and driving process improvements
• Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
