Non-Executive Trustee - Derbyshire Cricket Foundation

Derby, Derby (Hybrid)
Unpaid role, expenses paid
Voluntary
Job description

Who They Are

The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation (DCF) is a registered charity dedicated to improving lives and empowering communities across Derbyshire through cricket. In addition to its charitable work, the Foundation serves as the governing body for recreational cricket in the county, operating as one of 39 county organisations working in partnership with the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Through this role, DCF supports a network of grassroots clubs and leagues, helping to develop and sustain the game.

Their ambition is for cricket to become the most inclusive team sport. This vision underpins their strategy, A Game for Everyone.

The Role

The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation is seeking Trustees with diverse skills and experience who share a commitment to improving lives through cricket and sport, and who believe that cricket should be “a game for everyone.” While deep knowledge of cricket is not essential, Trustees are expected to contribute to the strategic oversight and governance of the organisation.

In particular, the Foundation welcomes applications from individuals with experience in:

  • Charitable Fundraising

  • Safeguarding

As Trustees, individuals will share ultimate responsibility for governing the charity and directing its management. However, the role is largely “eyes-on, hands-off,” as day-to-day operations are overseen by the Foundation’s staff team.

Trustees are also expected to join one of the Board committees, aligned with their skills and interests, which typically involves an additional one to two meetings per year. Further opportunities to support DCF’s work or events may arise, but the organisation recognises and respects that Trustees balance this voluntary role with other commitments.
