Job description

Open Door North East is a growing and ambitious charity committed to walking alongside people who have experienced forced migration. As we expand our reach and deepen our impact, we are seeking a compassionate and strategic Casework and Advocacy Manager to lead our dedicated team. This is a pivotal role for someone with a well-rounded understanding of forced migration, casework, and advocacy—someone ready to shape our approach, strengthen our services, and lead with both vision and practicality.

We are looking for a leader who brings professional expertise, a hands-on approach, and a deep commitment to justice and inclusion. If you have experience supporting migrants, managing teams, and navigating the challenges of No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference. You will help individuals rebuild their lives, develop ODNE’s casework strategy, and influence wider systems to ensure the Tees Valley becomes a place of welcome, dignity, and equity. You will also be responsible for ensuring robust safeguarding practices and managing risk across our casework services, maintaining the safety and wellbeing of clients, volunteers and staff.

In return, ODNE offers a purpose-driven and supportive environment where your leadership will be valued and your work will have tangible impact. You’ll be part of a passionate team that believes in the power of community, advocacy, and strategic action to transform lives and challenge injustice—while ensuring our services remain responsive, effective, and grounded in the realities our clients face.
