Prospectus is delighted to be working with our client, the UK’s leading gynaecological cancer research charity, to recruit a Finance Officer.

This exciting opportunity is offered on a permanent, full-time basis (35 hours per week). The role is hybrid, with an average of one day per week at their London Bridge office. The salary for this role is £27,000 per annum.

The organisation funds world-class research focused on the prevention and early detection of all five gynaecological cancers. Their mission is to save lives by raising awareness, advancing medical understanding, and supporting women and families affected by cancer.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Officer will support the smooth running of all finance operations within the charity. You will play a key role in ensuring income and expenditure are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and record income from various fundraising sources using Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Liaise with the fundraising team to ensure donations are coded correctly.
  • Manage the purchase ledger, including processing invoices, staff expenses, and supplier payments via Sage 50 Accounts.
  • Prepare BACS payment runs and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Support payroll and pensions processing.
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations, including bank, income, and restricted funds.
  • Support the annual audit and general finance governance activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial data and ensure compliance with data protection policies.
  • Provide ad-hoc finance and administrative support to the wider team as needed.

About You:

  • Experience in a finance role, ideally within a fundraising or charity environment.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
  • Experience using Sage 50 and Raiser’s Edge NXT (or similar systems).
