ARMA (UK) is the professional association for research management in the UK. We currently have around 3,5000 individual members from 250 organisations, ranging from universities and research institutes to research funders and the National Health Service.

This role will be responsible for the effective delivery of ARMA’s scheduled and ad hoc training and development events (c25 per year) and our mentoring programme.

This role will work closely with our Qualifications and Member Engagement Officers, various working groups and our volunteer trainers to support them to deliver high quality training, that meets our members needs.

This permanent post is ideal for someone who is keen to develop their policy skills as well as build external affairs and communications experience. The role provides opportunity to join a small agile team at the Council of Deans of Health, the representative body for the UK’s university faculties engaged in education and research for nursing, midwifery and the allied health professions.

We are looking for someone with a broad skill set including experience in developing policy, strong interpersonal skills, good organisation, and clear written communication. The successful candidate will be able to balance varied tasks and provide support to colleagues in the Council of Deans of Health team.

Main responsibilities:

• Support the development of Council policy with a particular focus on equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Monitor, analyse and evaluate policy developments, producing briefings, position papers and consultation responses.
• Liaise with members on both a formal and informal basis to develop and test policy priorities and positions.
• Represent the Council of Deans of Health to external stakeholders, building effective working relationships with a range of organisations.
• Contribute to the effective external communication of the Council’s policy work, including working with the Council’s communications lead to draft press releases and political positions.
• Help facilitate the meetings of nation, regional and strategic policy groups online and offline including travel across the UK.
• Contribute to other areas of the Council’s work as appropriate including project coordination and cross-team working.
• Undertake any other such duties or general tasks and hours of work as may reasonably be required.

The Council has an office in Woburn House, central London although all staff are currently working in a mixed home/office working model. The postholder should therefore be able to attend the office as required. The salary for this post is £30,305 – £36,575 depending on experience. The Council offers a 10% pension contribution, flexible approaches to working, travelling opportunities and continued development.

The End Violence Against Women Coalition (EVAW) is looking for a Public Affairs Officer to help drive forward our campaigning to end violence against women in all its forms.

The last few years have seen a huge increase in awareness of violence against women and girls, and support for our work. With this crucial human rights issue on the public and political agenda like never before, now is the time to disrupt the status quo and lay the foundations for a different world. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

EVAW’s public affairs officer will help persuade policy makers and stakeholders to prioritise tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG) and develop policy and practice that is effective, inclusive and rooted in equalities and human rights.

Typical tasks for this job might include reviewing and synthesising political speeches and debates, drafting briefings for MPs and other stakeholders and supporting with the organisation of stakeholder events such as parliamentary and party conference meetings.  

Candidates are likely to have some experience in public affairs or policy work on VAWG or a related field connected to social justice, human rights and equalities.  and will be seeking an opportunity to work in a highly impactful, agile and dynamic feminist organisation.

A background in VAWG will of course be an asset, but regardless you’ll need to show us you can keep abreast of key political developments, identify challenges and opportunities to pursue an organisation’s aims, and work to influence key decision-makers in a given field. As the Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer, you will be responsible for maximising income from Trusts and Foundations in order to support SHP’s charitable activities. About you

Mid-Level Giving Officer

Position Objective:

The Mid-Level Giving Officer will support PETA’s impact and growth through their work with an exciting portfolio of mid-level donors typically giving £250 - £999 size gifts. They will be responsible for managing all aspects of cultivating, stewarding and soliciting from this pool of valued supporters, including Vanguard Society Members, to provide a first-rate donor experience while deepening members’ engagement and financial support. The Mid-Level Giving Officer will also work collaboratively with other departments to enhance the mid-level donor experience, identify and refer major donor prospects to the appropriate team members, and ensure that efficient processes are in place.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain a portfolio of Vanguard Society donors and prospects
• Creating engaging donor journeys and presenting opportunities for deeper engagement
• Develop and implement donor-specific plans of strategic communication touches by phone, email and mail. This will include updates on PETA’s progress and victories, messages of gratitude, invitations to events, and asks to donors to increase their financial support. 
• Manage a portfolio of Vanguard Society and mid-level donors, each giving £250 + or with the capacity to make annual gifts at a higher level (at one time as well as cumulatively), including cultivating and stewarding each donor to increase their engagement and giving.
• Solicit and close gifts from assigned mid-level donors.
• Regularly qualify new prospects and donors in their capacity, inclination, affinity, and readiness to give.
• Track and achieve key activity and revenue metrics, while meeting weekly with the manager to report on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
• Ensure that mid-level donors’ database records are updated in a timely fashion. Document pertinent information (meetings, correspondence, notes, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing and developing PETA's donor database.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other teams and colleagues, including legacy, direct response, data, prospect research and communications, to enhance the donor experience and ensure that efficient processes are in place.
• Stay up-to-date on mid-level fundraising techniques and methods used in the nonprofit sector and attend professional-training opportunities as well as weekly coaching and progress reporting meetings
• Conduct oneself in a professional, friendly and truthful manner to donors.
• Perform any other duties requested by the supervisor.
• Acknowledge, thank and recognise donors appropriate to their level of support, and ensure restricted gifts are appropriately allocated
• Work with key PETA staff to find ways to engage donors in our mission, including by meeting supporters face to face or over the phone
• Monitor donors’ motivations and help to contribute to tailor cultivation events
• Maintain a clear understanding of – and the ability to articulate – PETA's objectives as well as details of specific PETA programmes
• Keep all donors in the portfolio up to date on the campaigns and initiatives of PETA and our affiliates
• Document pertinent information for the purpose of enhancing and developing donor profiles, including demographic, donation, correspondence, membership, and personal information for Vanguard Society members
• Maintain and expand knowledge of relevant departmental software (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, NXT, etc) in order to improve communication with donors
• Assist with the preparation and proofreading of mailings and other communications, as needed
• Monitor the acknowledgment process at Woods, working closely with staff to ensure that acknowledgements and welcome packs are sent out efficiently and that queries are passed to us within the agreed timeframe

Key responsibilities within the Communications Officer role will include:

• Writing engaging copy for a variety of mediums including both printed and digital
• Support the Director of Fundraising and Communications in creating and designing digital and print collateral for campaigns and events
• Lead on the design and publication of high-quality digital and print information about Dystonia UK, its services, projects, and about dystonia, the condition, and medical services.
• Work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Communications to identify and communicate key news items and be responsible for the production and dissemination of the e-marketing
• Manage Dystonia UK's social media channels on a day-to-day basis ensuring all activity is in line with the charity's brand and communication strategy and work closely with the Directors to produce and develop the social media content schedule
• Engage directly with the organisations community by drafting private messages, replying to comments, and passing actions on to other members of staff where required.

Dystonia UK is a small charity, and this is a busy role where someone with some communications experience will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic Director to really develop their skills and expertise both operationally and strategically. We're looking for a Communications Officer to join our Policy and Communications Directorate. You'll have experience in working across PR/media relations, campaigning and content creation for professional/B2B/charity audiences and working to tight deadlines. CFG promotes remote-first working, although we do have office space at our registered address in Southwark, SE London for those team members who prefer an office setting. We expect all of our team members to attend all staff, directorate, or team anchor days on a regular basis in London. All staff anchor days are currently quarterly, and directorate and smaller team anchor days are organised on an ad hoc basis. About the Role: As a Media and Public Affairs Officer, you will play a pivotal role in communicating the RSA's impactful work to a diverse network of stakeholders, including the media. You will lead integrated communications campaigns, manage media relations, and contribute to their mission of influence and impact.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Lead integrated communications campaigns promoting the RSA's nationwide programmes, policy interventions, and public events.
• Build and maintain a strong media profile for the RSA, targeting key audiences including policymakers, businesses, academia, and the wider public.
• Secure media coverage and exposure across various publications and platforms.
• Cultivate new press and public affairs contacts to further organisational objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and content delivery.
• Write engaging and newsworthy content for various platforms, including the RSA Journal

Person Specification:

• Experience in media relations, public affairs, journalism, or policy.
• Excellent writing, digital, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
