Specialist Community IDVA - Enhanced Support Team
The Specialist Community IDVA in the Enhanced Support Team will be employed by Justlife and embedded within the Enhanced Support Team (EST), a multi-disciplinary team supporting individuals experiencing rough sleeping, homelessness, and multiple disadvantage.
As part of a co-located multidisciplinary team comprising social workers, housing professionals, mental health practitioners, substance misuse specialists and community support workers, the Specialist IDVA will provide a coordinated response to domestic abuse. This includes providing specialist domestic abuse support, advocacy and risk management for victims and survivors of domestic abuse who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
Alongside experience of working in a related field, whether in a voluntary or paid capacity, you will bring empathy and strong relationship-building skills, as well as confidence in responding to changing circumstances and priorities. People experiencing homelessness may have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse and other difficult life experiences, which can affect their health, wellbeing and experiences of services. As the role involves lone working, you will need to be comfortable working independently and understand how to work safely, while having good self-awareness and resilience to maintain your own wellbeing.
The role will be central to improving outcomes for individuals experiencing multiple disadvantage by reducing the impact of domestic abuse, increasing safety, and supporting recovery and pathways away from homelessness.
Our vision is to make people’s experience of temporary accommodation as short, safe and healthy as possible.
