We are a small and agile campaigning organisation on a mission to rescue Britain's rivers from a toxic cocktail of agricultural, sewage and industrial pollution. We support community action, galvanise and mobilise public opinion, influence government policy, and call out destructive industrial practices to incentivise changes that end pollution.

Who we are looking for
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual who shares our passion for protecting rivers to join our team to drive forward our policy and advocacy work. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong policy insights capable of blending analytical problem-solving with intelligent advocacy to drive meaningful change. This role requires someone to have excellent writing skills and the ability to draft complex policy documents as well as top line arguments for wider communication. .
The ideal person will bring a combination of expertise, energy and ideas to amplify our impact, holding decision-makers and polluters accountable with a professional and diplomatic approach. They will engage with influential people across the sector, government, industry and media.

What you’ll be doing
As our Policy and Advocacy Manager, you will play a leading role in shaping and advancing River Action’s political and policy influence, working closely with the Head of Legal and Policy, Chief Executive and wider team to develop and execute an impactful policy and advocacy strategy.
River Action is the Co-Secretariat for the APPG on Water Pollution, offering our Policy and Advocacy Manager a unique opportunity to shape the policy direction for River Action and also to influence policy development across Parliament.
You will also work closely with our public affairs agency who manage our daily Westminster activities.
You will:

Lead River Action’s policy and advocacy work on agricultural, sewage and industrial water pollution, with a focus on regulation, funding and legal frameworks.

Collaborate with River Action’s team and external partners to ensure our collective work is underpinned by robust and forward-thinking policy analysis and evidence.

Develop policy analysis to support campaign, communications and policy strategies, based on a strong evidence base and a sound understanding of the relevant legal and policy frameworks.

Translate complex policy and evidence into concise documents with clear messages and compelling campaigns to engage political and policy stakeholders.
-
Monitor and analyse political and policy developments, interpreting their implications and opportunities for River Action and its supporters.
-
Generate analysis to enable participation in public consultation processes, including drafting high-quality and persuasive consultation responses and briefings for Westminster and Whitehall audiences.

Increase our political influence with exciting policy interventions, ensuring River Action’s voice is heard at the highest levels of decision-making.

Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers, civil servants, industry experts and partner organisations.

Support grassroots community groups and third-sector partners in engaging with their local representatives for effective advocacy.

Organise and attend key political meetings and events, including the Water Pollution APPG, stakeholder roundtables and parliamentary events.

Manage strategic policy partnerships, including our relationship with Wildlife and Countryside Link and other third-sector organisations.

Ensure River Action’s policy and advocacy efforts align with our creative campaigns, by making sure colleagues and spokespeople are well-briefed and communications content is well-informed to maximise reach and impact.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

Experience in a similar policy and advocacy role, ideally within the environmental sector.

Policy and/or legislative experience, with a good understanding of the workings of the UK government and Parliamentary procedure.

A good understanding of the UK water industry, the key UK water-related policies and the issues that are impacting our rivers, land and wildlife.

Excellent communication and writing skills with close attention to detail and the ability to produce concise and persuasive briefings, reports and consultation responses.

Please prepare a 2 page policy briefing for MPs on a current issue affecting the health of UK rivers. Your briefing should be written in a clear, persuasive style suitable for a Parliamentary and government audience and:

Westway Trust is seeking a highly motivated Caretaker who will be passionate about developing and maintaining high standards of security and presentation of buildings across the 23 acres of estate, to ensure continuity of the use of the buildings and grounds for tenants and community use. This role will be critical to ensuring management of a vibrant, diverse and thriving estate.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:
- Responsible for light maintenance and housekeeping duties across the Trust’s buildings and estate.
- Perform simple repairs and maintenance tasks as required.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Finance and Operations officer, you will report to the Operations and Systems Manager and will be a key member of the Operations team. This role is vital to the support of the wider organisation, being the go-to person for financial, HR and IT enquiries.
In this role at Get Further, you’ll have the opportunity to build on your operational experience within a dynamic and mission-driven charity. No two days are the same, you'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to a range of projects that help drive our work forward. Finance Administration
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero, including importing and coding invoices for approval, raising sales invoices, and supporting bank reconciliation.
- Prepare and issue contracts and invoices for colleges, freelancers, and central team members.
- Manage credit control by coordinating weekly payment runs and liaising with debtors to ensure timely payment.
- Prepare monthly payroll submissions, including reconciling tutor hours, holiday pay and training.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for internal budget holders.
- Assist with compiling financial information for the Fundraising Team as required.
HR and Policy Administration
- Help maintain our policy library, ensuring all charity policies remain compliant and up to date.
- Keep the Employee Handbook current, reflecting the latest internal policies and procedures.
- Assist the Operations & Systems Manager in planning and delivering our termly Team Days.
- Coordinate staff benefits, including the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), staff training, pensions, Access to Work applications, and workstation assessments.
- Working with Hiring managers for the central recruitment process to advertise roles, coordinating interviews and communications with applicants.
- Onboard new starters, conducting all pre-employment checks, organising computers and equipment, arranging access to systems etc.
- Managing reference requests for past tutors.
IT and Equipment management
- Support the Operations & Systems Manager in maintaining oversight of IT hardware, phones, and other equipment – including managing logistics and phasing out older kit.
- Act as the first point of contact for the team on IT matters, liaising with our external IT provider and tracking outstanding tasks and support hours used.
Office tasks
- Liaise with the Charity we share offices with regarding office facilities and help maintain office supplies and equipment levels.
- Manage keyholder records, ensuring an accurate log of staff with key and fob access to the office.
General Administration
- Monitor and respond to shared mailboxes, ensuring timely and appropriate handling of enquiries or redirecting them as needed.
- Provide additional programme support where required – including booking conferences and ordering printed materials or resources.
- Respond to internal queries and offer cross-team support on financial, HR, and IT matters.

At Horatio’s Garden, we build and look after extraordinary gardens in the heart of NHS spinal injury centres. These gardens are a critical part of rehabilitation and offer reflection and adjustment, privacy and solace, joy and companionship to all who need it. We lead regular gardening sessions to grow and cultivate plants, arts workshops to offer new skills and a programme of live music and events. Designed to be enjoyed all year round, these gardens offer a warm, welcoming place for family and friends who may have travelled hours for a visit.
Our vision is for everyone with a spinal injury to have a Horatio’s Garden as part of their rehabilitation care.
The charity is growing. We have eight garden projects open and are fundraising for our ninth garden in Middlesbrough.
This role will assist with the content creation of engaging written, film and visual content across different platforms, scheduling and moderating our social channels, and helping us report on our digital activity. You will support the rollout of the new regional social media channels for each garden to help place storytelling and impact at the heart of our communications.
It would suit someone looking to start or build their career in the communications field or charity sector to develop experience in developing content, writing and charity campaigning. Main duties
1. Help manage the day-to-day running of the charity’s social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook). Schedule content and respond to comments and messages to foster positive engagement and add value to the supporter experience
2. Work closely with the team to produce subscriber, campaign-led and post-event newsletter content and manage the subscriber database
3. Contribute to the charity’s content calendar and work creatively and collaboratively with the communications and wider charity team to proactively seek and develop story ideas

5. Assist with internal communications to convey key updates to staff

ROLE DESCRIPTION
As leaders within Get Further, our Programme Managers play an important part in managing the delivery of our tuition programmes and the growth and development of the organisation. The successful applicant will take over the case load of one of our Programme Managers while she is on secondment to another project. The key outcomes for this role are:
- Team: Directly line manage a team of 3-6 Programme Coordinators and Salaried Tutors and be accountable for the management of tutors within your colleges, contributing to Get Further as a whole meeting or exceeding our programme delivery KPIs
- FE partners: Achieve high FE partner satisfaction by delivering a high impact programme and developing strong relationships at multiple levels with our existing and prospective FE partners.

Tutors
Our tutors are instrumental to us delivering a high-impact programme. You will be accountable for the overall high performance of the tutors delivering tuition within the FE partners for which you are responsible. To achieve this, we expect you will:
- Support and hold PCs to account for the frontline management of tutors and lead tutors
- Resolve or further escalate tutor performance management issues that PCs have escalated as per the Tutor Performance Policy
- Ensure that performance management issues are effectively tracked and made visible to the CPO and work with the CPO and wider Executive team to resolve persistent issues

FE Partners

About this key role
As Reception and Volunteer Pathway Lead, you will act as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment, and also manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence and maintain a tidy and accessible reception area. You will also design and deliver a volunteer pathway programme for individuals returning to employment, which will include recruiting and onboarding volunteers with a focus on those who have been out of work and collaborating with internal departments to identify placement opportunities and role specifications.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Working to specific income targets, the Supporter Engagement Manager is responsible for acquisition campaigns including regular giving, direct mail appeals, online fundraising, legacys; retention campaigns including ongoing stewardship to increase supporter engagement. The Supporter Engagement Manager will work with the Senior Head of Supporter Engagement to develop the strategy for increasing income across all individual giving streams and then work with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the wider team to impliment it. This includes our annual matched-funding campaign and reoccuring giving programmes, which last year raised £1m and £150k respectively. As Retention Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for annual operational planning and delivery across for the retention programme, including for emergency appeals. You will work closely with the Director, Mass Markets to create and manage significant annual budgets, ensuring return on investment is maximised at all times. Supported by the Retention Marketing Executive, you will oversee all campaign activity, ensuring that it meets the strategic objectives and financial goals of the department.

Key accountabilities
Strategy and planning
- Support the Director, Mass Markets in the development and delivery of the retention strategy and priorities
- Identify, scope and deliver new and innovative opportunities that advance the retention strategy
- Manage retention operational planning, including leading annual, quarterly and monthly planning sessions, defining key deliverables and ensuring all activity supports the aims of the retention strategy
- Manage the monitoring and reporting framework to track performance against strategic objectives
- Identify and brief support requirements with internal and external partners in order to maximise activity and ensure the smooth running of back-office operations

- Lead on tracking and reconciling retention income and expenditure budget lines, providing variance reporting to support the Director, Mass Markets regular financial reporting
Campaign management
- Oversee, plan and deliver multi-channel revenue and engagement campaigns, including emergencies, ensuring all activity is designed to inspire and engage supporters
- Oversee the design and implementation of customer journeys across all segments and products, in order to increase loyalty, average value and product holdings
- Lead the development and management of the mid-level portfolio, including regular communications, donor events, and identification and development of prospects into active donating advocates of the IRC
- Oversee work to ensure it is completed to standard, on time and within budget and act as overflow support during peak times, such as emergencies
- Work closely with equivalent team members in other national markets (i.e. Korea, Germany, Sweden, US) and the Mass Market support team to ensure all activity is coordinated and maximised
Insight, analysis and data management
- Work closely with the Analytics team to identify and manage analytics requirements and to draw actionable insights from performance data
- Oversee and sign off detailed end of campaign reports, ensuring all relevant information is documented and used to inform future activity

Leadership and management
- Line manage and develop the Retention Marketing Executive(s), ensuring performance objectives are managed throughout the year and opportunities for training, development and progression are identified and prioritised
- Work closely with other team members to increase connection across Mass Markets, with the ultimate aim of developing a seamless progression for new donors and prospects into further cultivation

- Keep up to date with the sector developments in individual giving to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments

BUBIC (Bringing Unity Back Into the Community) is an award winning, peer-led substance misuse service supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol dependency. Our mission is to empower people through community engagement, harm reduction strategies, and accessible support services. We work directly with vulnerable individuals, helping them break cycles of addiction and social exclusion.
Our team plays a crucial role in engaging with people who may not access traditional services, offering immediate support and practical solutions to improve their well-being. Our team, many with lived experience, offers non-judgmental support, outreach, and education to help people on their journey to recovery.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To lead the effective and high-quality delivery of peer-led support for individuals on their recovery journey across the Borough of Haringey. This role will require dynamic, hands-on management of BUBIC’s team, encompassing staff, peer mentors, and volunteers, to meet key performance indicators and community needs.
You will represent BUBIC’s values in all aspects of your work, including strengthening existing partnerships and cultivating new community links. A flexible approach is essential, with regular night shifts and occasional weekend work expected to provide outreach and attend local events.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strong, responsive leadership and day-to-day management of a diverse team.

Represent BUBIC at external meetings, events, and forums to promote our ethos and strengthen partnerships.

Offer regular supervision and line management to staff, identifying learning needs and supporting professional development.

Monitor service performance against KPIs, continuously reviewing delivery and identifying areas for improvement.

Lead by example, stepping into frontline roles where needed to ensure continuity and quality of service.

Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in line with funding and internal requirements.

Oversee and monitor budgets, ensuring financial compliance including petty cash usage and financial procedures.

Promote and uphold all organisational policies, particularly those relating to equality, safeguarding, GDPR, and health & safety.

Ensure safe recruitment, including DBS checks and effective onboarding for staff and volunteers.

Create and maintain referral pathways, particularly for individuals unfamiliar with formal drug services.

Inspire and coordinate volunteer engagement, ensuring their efforts align with BUBIC’s objectives and values.

Person Specification
Education and Training:
-
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care.

Demonstrable knowledge of drug use and its impact on individuals and communities.

Familiarity with SMART Recovery, 12-Step Philosophy, harm reduction, and peer-led support.
Experience:

5+ years’ experience in substance misuse or related services.

At least 2 years’ experience managing teams in a community or substance misuse setting.

Demonstrated success in supervising and developing staff to meet high standards.
Skills and Abilities:

We are seeking an experienced HR Ministry Partner to join their People and Organisational Development Department and play a strategic role in supporting LCM's mission through excellence in people management. You'll provide generalist operational HR services to specific teams, lead HR projects to improve processes and policies, and act as the team's expert on HR best practice.
