📍 Location: Head office (Fivefields, 8-10 Grosvenor Gardens, London) and travel to our key reserves typically 1-2 days per week, the remaining 3-4 days from home.
🕑 Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm. We welcome flexible working requests from day one.

Role & Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of high-value fundraising at London Wildlife Trust. Building on a small but successful programme, you’ll lead the growth and diversification of our income across corporate partnerships, trusts, foundations, institutional funders and major donors. Leading a small team, you’ll build and steward five, six and seven-figure relationships that help turn our vision of a London alive with nature into reality.

You’ll:

• Lead our partnerships and philanthropy strategy, securing significant new multi-year partnerships and funding that support our strategic priorities.
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects, identifying new opportunities across major gifts, corporate partnerships, trusts, foundations and statutory funding.
• Develop and nurture high-value relationships, personally managing a portfolio of major donors, corporate partners and funders capable of five- and six-figure gifts.
• Create compelling, tailored propositions that connect funder interests with the impact we’re making for London’s wildlife, wild spaces and communities.
• Work closely with our Director of Development, Senior Leadership Team and Trustees to open doors, develop relationships and secure high-value funding.
• Deliver excellent stewardship, ensuring our supporters see the difference their funding makes through impact reporting, events, site visits and recognition.
• Work collaboratively across the Trust, partnering with Nature Recovery, Visitor Experience, Marketing & Communications and Finance to develop strong, accurate and compelling proposals and reports.
• Strengthen our fundraising infrastructure, ensuring we have effective systems, processes and CRM data to manage relationships and pipelines from prospect identification through to stewardship.
• Support and develop your team, creating a collaborative, high-performing culture where people are clear on their role, supported to develop and empowered to deliver their best work.

Our ideal Head of Partnerships & Philanthropy

• Significant experience in at least one high-value fundraising discipline (major donors, corporate partnerships, and/or trusts and foundations), with a track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts
• Excellent relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders including CEOs, funders and trustees
• Strong strategic and financial planning skills, including pipeline management, budget management and income forecasting
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into compelling funding propositions
• Genuine interest in and commitment to nature conservation and environmental issues
• Good understanding of the high-value fundraising market (in particular corporate)
