We are excited to be recruiting for a newly created role of Service Manager for Children and Young Adults to significantly grow the provision we have for 5 - 25 year olds.

We offer a range of services for children as young as 5, up to and through transitioning into adult services. You will be working alongside the Adult services and Development Manager to ensure joined up working.

Along with the daily management of staff, you will have a strategic overview of the services and have the ability to work with those involved to make changes to meet local need, which will include the development of new services.

A key element of this role is to work closely with parents, carers, and educational settings, so good communication skills are a must. If you have experience working in an SEN setting, have understanding of Ofsted/ CQC and management/ development skills please do get in touch.

Main purpose of job:

• Responsible for the efficient and safe provision of individual and group support for children and young people.
• Development of significant new provision to meet current and future need. This will include the provision of ‘alternative education’, after school/evening activities and increased capacity of weekend services.
• Collaboration with the Adult Service (Development) Manager to enable seamless transition across services.
• Development of strong links with potential referrers/commissioners and partners. To ensure Nottingham Mencap becomes a relevant provider of choice of a wide range of children’s services across the county.

Location: Nottingham may be required to work across more than one site.

 Main tasks of job:

1. Operational management of current and future group activities for children and young people. Ensure they are appropriately staffed, meet needs and of a high standard within a safe and healthy environment.

2. Support to, and supervision of, the Short Breaks Co-ordinators to deliver well-managed and expanding services.

3. Development of new services/groups, changes to current activities, and the stopping of those no longer viable. These will include the provision of ‘alternative education’, after school/evening activities and increase in capacity of weekend services.

4. Financial/budget management of new and existing services including identifying and securing new sources of income.

5. Ensure demonstrable quality outcomes are developed for those who attend.

6. Joint responsibility (with the Adult Services Manager) to ensure our services are integrated and seamless and champion the needs of young people transitioning into adulthood.

7. Create a positive and motivational environment which allows the staff team, and the young people we support, to thrive.

8. Focus on each individual’s potential and making a positive difference to young people’s lives, ensuring they progress towards achieving their aspirations.

9. Embrace a culture of change and improvement. Instigate measures to improve access and quality. Maintain a focus on increasing the number and diversity of people who attend our services.

10. Develop and maintain quality/performance matrixes to satisfy internal and external scrutiny. Ensure adherence to standards required by the CQC and Ofsted.

11. Ensure all staff are offered appropriate training and that staff are trained to carry out their respective roles.

12. Recruitment, employment, supervision, and appraisals of staff team. Proactive management of annual leave, sickness, absence, and other personnel related issues.

13. Work alongside Finance and the Admin team to ensure systems accurately track financial and activity data. Ensure services are delivered within budget and relevant documentation is completed for the production of reports for internal and external inspection.

14. Ensure group environments are sensitive to individual needs and relevant assessments (including risk) have been undertaken and communicated to all relevant workers.

15. Ensure effective communication with others, including referrers, social workers, keyworkers, and carers. Establish effective feedback mechanisms with children, young people, and their families. Ensure the development of positive relationships with parents/carers is enshrined within our values and processes.

16. Proactively liaise with current and potential future commissioners/funders. Ensure availability of high quality and personally tailored services to address the personalisation agenda and attract those seeking a range of support options via personal budgets.

17. Robust implementation of policies and procedures adopted by Nottingham Mencap

18. Participation in relevant activities and meetings across the organisation. Act as a fully participative member of the senior management team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a passion for working within a charity that focuses on developing young people from all backgrounds, and will have the experience, knowledge and understanding to drive forward EDI in external facing programmes.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and deliver WorldSkills UK’s external Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) programmes supported by stakeholder engagement strategies across our network of industry, education and government. The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.

The Role (30hrs per week)

· To provide day to day management and supervision of our remote Support Team, providing guidance and support to deliver appropriate information and advice for our mums and families.

· Provide casework support to Mummy’s Star families.

· Work closely with the Operations Manager to implement consistent processes and ensure appropriate training and development for the Support Team.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the post holder will manage the Support Team at Mummy’s Star. More specifically you will be responsible for:

Support Team Management (50%)

• Provide quality support, leadership, development and line management
• Oversee the delivery of individual, tailored support for families

· Regular review and assessment of caseload including co-ordinating weekly caseload meetings and management of new grant application flow to Trustees.

· Work with the support team to regularly monitor, evaluate and report on the support provided by Mummy’s Star.

· Act as Lead Professional in complex cases if required.

· Working with the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure the wider team has appropriate resources and support around wellbeing

· Complying with the charity’s administration, monitoring and financial systems

· Working in close partnership with health care professionals, charities, and other key stakeholders

· Work with the Operations Manager to develop new engagement tools for families to improve accessibility.

· Assist the team to co-ordinate the Ask the Expert events and other resources

· Contribute to, and support the development of, the charity locally, regionally, and nationally

Information and Support Casework Delivery (50%)

· Receiving referrals and assessing needs of families from contact via self referral (post, email, online and social media) and third party referrals (health care professionals, families and charities)

· Providing families with the appropriate support based on their needs, this will include 121 emotional support, signposting to financial/practical support and peer support via our online forum.

· Ensuring support to mums and families is reviewed at regular intervals. 

· Maintain and monitor the online peer support forum.

Other Duties and information about the role

· The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as required to support the charity and beneficiaries.

· Some evening and weekend work may be required but time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given for this.

· A DBS check will be required for this role.

They will lead in identifying new funding opportunities and sustaining effective relationships with existing donors. The Role:

The Donor Relations Manager leads and develops CALP’s fundraising strategy and activities to enable CALP to finance its overall strategy. The role holder manages and cultivates healthy relationships with donors and network members, and shares compliance responsibilities depending on contractual requirements. This role has strong inter-relations within realms of strategy, programmes, operations, planning and monitoring, and serves as an expert for the CALP team on strategic fundraising and donor relations.

Essential Technical Skills, Experience & Knowledge 

• Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate technical field, or equivalent level of professional experience.
• Significant, proven experience of generating substantial funding including proven ability to develop funding strategies, plan effectively and deliver complex funding applications and donor reports.
• High level experience and knowledge of key humanitarian and development donors such as: ECHO, BHA/USAID, GFFO, FCDO and European government donors.
• Knowledge and experience of working with consortium-based funding.
• Proven strategic design and management skills including good programme development ability and proven knowledge of M&E at project and programme levels.
• Significant experience with budgeting, financial reporting, including managing and reporting on complex programme budgets.
• Ability to develop and manage complex relationships.
• Proven experience of funding management systems/databases.
• Very strong conceptual and analytical skills, including excellent facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English - report writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely and to motivate and persuade at high levels.
• Diplomacy, good interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm under pressure while not losing sight of strategic priorities.
• Proven initiative, flexibility and ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines across multiple time zones.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Individual Giving Manager to join the Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, for 12 months. This role is critical for the success of our income generation activities and acquisition of new supporters.

We are looking for a target driven team player who will skilfully and tactfully manage a variety of stakeholder relationships, including our face-to-face agency partners and volunteers. This is an exciting time to join the team as we look to build on successful growth of existing supporter acquisition initiatives. 

About the team 

This role sits within the Fundraising, Marketing & Communications team. Reporting to the Head of Supporter Engagement, you will also work collaboratively with the Individual Giving Manager – Donor Development, Individual Giving Officer, Supporter Care Co-ordinator, and the Events team. You will also work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including our Branch Network and Regional Hubs to connect with new supporters across the UK and maximise opportunities.

About you 

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of:

• Experience of developing and running successful individual giving programmes to recruit new donors. 
• Experience of managing external relationships at all levels, for example with suppliers, agencies, including effective negotiation on costs and contracts. 
• Experience of managing face-to-face fundraising programme. 
• Experience of lottery fundraising. 
• Experience of working with a supporter database.
• Numerical skills and ability to use Excel and/or PowerBI for tracking, reporting and analysis.

Post Title: Assistant Camp Director, Volunteering

Main Purpose:To lead on Volunteer recruitment, training and engagement and support the Camp Director in the delivery and leadership of safe, fun, residential activity camps and online programmes.

Our free of charge programmes are designed to address the loneliness, isolation and sense of being different that affects the quality of life for children living with serious illness.

We are seeking an Assistant Camp Director to join our Camp Operations team. The postholder will be an essential member of our Camp Leadership Team when camps are in session and will focus on Volunteer recruitment, development and experience.

You are:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend Over the Wall residential camps (minimum of 4 per year) and virtual camps as part of the operational staff team. Attending camp involves long working hours, including day / evening and weekends, as well as being away from home for up to 11 nights at a time.
• Develop and deliver informative and engaging ‘all camp’ training for volunteers and full-time staff members, underpinned by the principles of therapeutic recreation and challenge by choice.
• Oversee the recruitment and hiring of 300+ volunteers, annually.
• Supportively coach and manage our team of Volunteer Coordinators.
• Design and implement effective feedback mechanisms for volunteers, camp staff, campers and families and deliver effective debriefing sessions at the end of each camp.
• Assist in the direction and supervision of all camp programs which include, but are not limited to, family weekends, summer sessions and virtual camps.
• Work closely with the Operations Team to provide leadership and support for campers, volunteers, and staff.
• Promote and encourage a strong culture of safety within camp & assist in the coordination of emergency procedures.
• Support overall camp budget management with an emphasis on Volunteering.
• In the absence of the Camp Director, take on the leadership of camp.
• Abide by and comply with all OTW policies and procedures, especially relating to individual areas of responsibility.
