Housing Advice Worker

We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Housing Advice Worker to join our Domestic Abuse Social Care Service in Kent.

£27,976.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week on a 1 year FTC.

What you'll do:

• Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers who are currently in refuge to make the transition to permanent accommodation smoother.
• Supporting community customers who have accessed the Sanctuary Scheme to remain in their properties and manage the risks associated with that.
• Supporting key customers to set personalised goals in the form of a move on Support Plan
• Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of 'positive risk taking.'
• Ensuring customers have full access to any move on welfare support by completing move on paperwork prior to customers move on date.
• Liaising and building partnerships with local charities to support customers with move on items
• Accompany customers to property viewings.
• Helping to set up utilities for move on customers
• Adhering to all other Look Ahead's policies and procedures. Engaging in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills
• Engage positively in reflective practice sessions with colleagues.
• Undertaking any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as assigned by the Manager

About the role

As Project Assistant in the Volunteering Team, you will play a proactive role in supporting the recruitment and management of Crisis at Christmas volunteers. This is a great entry-level opportunity to be part of a collaborative and supportive team making a real difference. Acting as the first point of contact for all volunteer enquiries, you will ensure an equitable and inclusive experience for every applicant by processing volunteer applications and confidential data with care and diligence, and by conducting essential safety checks to make sure our volunteers are suitable.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate to enable it to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to significantly grow and diversify income.

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the post-holder will work closely with senior leaders, trustees and senior stakeholders to solicit high-value gifts, typically of six and seven figures, and to build and deepen long-term relationships between donors and the charity. You will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of potential and current principal-level donors, as well as delivering exceptional stewardship journeys that demonstrate the impact and value of donor support.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in securing major gifts at the six-figure level or above, ideally in a principal or transformational giving context. Site locations

The SERT region, covers the south east of England, extending from Hampshire in the west to Kent in the east, with the northern border being south of the Thames, extending down to the English Channel.

Our office is based in Leatherhead which you will be required to attend approximately four days a month.

The amount of travel required depends on the role, and can be extensive. Most travel for an individual will be to work on project sites, which can be remote, or attending external meetings within the SERT region. The geographical range and frequency of travel is role dependent.

To support travel costs, SERT pays mileage at the current HMRC amount for travel within the SERT region. We do not pay mileage, time or any other costs for travel outside the SERT region, nor for any commutes to the office. Toll charges cannot be claimed.

Salary: £13.45 per hour

If you’re passionate about sustainability and our local communities, love working with people and things, can find your way around a sander and a spreadsheet, and want to work part-time for a local charity, then we’ve got a really lovely job for you! 

We need three new Library of Things Managers to run our Frenchay, Bedminster and Kingswood sites, working with the rest of our small team of staff and volunteers to make borrowing as convenient as buying. We’re after people who thrive on being busy, cannot wait to welcome people when they walk in, and approach everything with enthusiasm! (But you also need to be really organised!) 

We’re looking for someone to start as soon as practical, and work between 13 hours and 21 hours a week, depending on the site.

We are seeking a motivated educator who is driven to create social change in society to join our team! The ideal candidate will have an understanding of anti-Muslim hatred and how this affects young people in the UK today. We are looking for someone who is excited to help expand and develop this project even further. As a Project Coordinator, you will be delivering informal educational workshops in secondary schools, working within a vibrant team of experienced educators, as well as managing day to day administration to ensure the smooth running of the project. Moreover, you will have the chance to collaborate with a range of exciting partners including other anti-discrimination organisations and other stakeholders in the field of hate crime.

Stand Up! Education Against Discrimination brings Jewish & Muslim educators into the classroom to facilitate informal conversations with young people.​ By creating a safe space and through free interactive workshops, students are empowered to learn about and act against racism and discrimination with a specific focus on antisemitism and anti-Muslim hate. Young people are provided with the tools on how to report hate crime, whilst developing their sense of social responsibility to their local communities and British society as a whole.

The programme has reached over 150,000 young people across the country since its inception in 2017 and has received recognition from the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, who funds the programme through the Shared Endeavour Fund. Workshops are delivered by expert facilitators who create a safe space for young people to debunk myths and misconceptions about the Muslim and Jewish communities.

Freelands Foundation is looking for a HR Manager to deliver and oversee Freelands Foundation’s people strategy to enable the Foundation to achieve its ambitious strategic objectives. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the scaling of the Foundation over the next few years, including a major capital project for our Errol Street building, a significant expansion of key programmes, and reaching new audiences for our work.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will also help influence organisational direction and ensure fundraising is positioned as a core driver of sustainability and growth.

You will strengthen pipelines, drive innovation and optimisation across all income streams (community, events, corporate, trusts, major donors, in memory and legacies.

You will build and lead a high-performing team, setting clear expectations, accountability and development plans.

The Candidate
Our ideal candidate will bring energy, experience, clarity and a results-driven mindset to this role and to the fundraising team. We are looking for someone with:

• Significant senior fundraising leadership experience, with a proven track record of delivering measurable income growth
• Experience managing multi-stream fundraising portfolios
• A strong ability to translate strategy into delivery, with clear planning and execution
• Proven experience leading, motivating and performance-managing teams
• Confidence to influence at senior level and build high-value relationships
• Ability to build strong internal relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues
