We are seeking a dedicated Senior Floating Support Worker to oversee a vital service aimed at providing essential warp-around support to vulnerable residents who have experienced homelessness across Pan London. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to help clients access good quality private rented accommodation and plan for their long-term future.

Duties:

As senior floating support worker, you will play a crucial role in the support team by:

• Overseeing a case load of 30 clients with varying support needs.
• Organising weekly appointments with each client and providing personalised support.
• Writing clear and concise monthly and weekly reports to document client progress.
• Assisting clients with budgeting, financial management, and maintaining their tenancy.
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to clients.
• Empowering clients to pursue hobbies, attend appointments, and seek opportunities for work, education, or training.
• Promoting independence and teaching life skills to enable clients to transition to an independent lifestyle.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong record and understanding of delivering effective support services to vulnerable populations.
• Knowledge of key working and case working approaches, including penalisation agendas.
• Understanding of the complex issues contributing to homelessness and their impact on individual's lives.
• Experience in supporting and supervising casework practice.
• Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

• Ensuring our Housing Sustainment Strategy is applied fairly and transparently across License and Tenancy accommodation 

You will need:

• GCSE English and Maths grade C or above (grades 4-9 or equivalent)
• Experience of dealing with the needs of our customer group; including but not limited to those with Learning Disabilities, Entrenched Homelessness, Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Dependencies, dual diagnosis
• An understanding of the housing letting procedure including screening/vetting applicants
• Previous experience of managing and resolving rent arrears issues within a Registered Social Landlord or similar environment
• An understanding of both adult and child safeguarding protocols and escalation procedures
• Awareness of Building Safety Legislation and Expectations of Landlords
• Customer focused, excellent with planning and delivery, able to balance multiple priorities against critical deadlines
• A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for opportunities to do things better, supporting automation and digital paperwork
• A driving licence and vehicle insured for business use – we have a number of sites and you will need to visit these regularly

The Role  

The role of a GMYF Youth Workers to be young person centred, providing a nurturing, safe and supporting environment for the young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with them. You will be based at either Partington or Charlestown Youth Centres working with 9-16 year olds. You will support the Youth Activities Lead in planning and delivering a full programme of activities including centre-based, as well as supporting our outdoor adventure team with outdoor activities and residentials.

Key areas of focus for the Youth Worker will be: 

• Support the young people: always take a young person-centred approach to all activities. Maintain the ethos of the organisation by providing a nurturing, safe and supporting environment. Build and maintain positive relationships with the young people, recognising their different needs and starting points. Have strong commitment to the values of acceptance and respect within youth work. Be a positive role model for the young people. . Encourage young people to take an active role in social action projects youth voice and young leader activities. 

• Assist the Youth Activities Lead: work together with the team in planning and delivery of full programme of activities, including evening youth club sessions. Assist in the development and introduction of additional activities eg twilight sessions, drop ins, youth voice, targeted group work, mentoring. Identify the formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of the young people and plan a programme of positive interventions and innovations which enhances the knowledge, awareness and personal development of the young people. Articulate and record young people’s progression in sessional and project recording documentation and provide information for management and funding reporting. 

• Residentials: Attend weekend residentials and events at the GMYF’s outdoor pursuits centre and encourage the young people to get involved. Support and assist with the planning and delivery of off-site trips/activities and residentials at various locations.

• Safeguarding: comply with all policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety, and equality and diversity. Be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of youth club members is promoted and prioritized. Report any concerns and participate in Safeguarding training. 

• Represent Greater Manchester Youth Federation: Ensure conduct is professional and represents GMYF in a positive manner to internal and external visitors, working with a wide range of local partners and community organisations. 

• Continued Personal Development: Commit to your own training and development, accessing available training including youth work specific courses. GMYF to assist CPD.

About You  

We are looking for candidates who believe in GMYF’s mission and are experienced in working with young people. You will be able to build positive relationships with young people, always taking a young person centred approach. You will have experience planning and delivering activities, and bring creative and innovative ideas to share for young people. You will have good team working and organisational skills, understanding of safeguarding, and willingness to undertake further training.

The Role 

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the team, working 17.5 hours per week.

Young lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We currently use a hybrid working model. This role falls under the hybrid - variable category. This role is part home, part site based (your contractual base will be both Home and Addenbrooke’s Hospital). You will have the opportunity to work remotely / from home within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at the interview stage.

The office-based working will be at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, to provide support to children and young people (0-24 years, with a focus on children) diagnosed with cancer and leukaemia, and their families.

This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application a basic / standard / enhanced criminal record check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.

We are looking for a full-time Substance Misuse Recovery Worker based in Bridlington.

The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) are a registered charity who have been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for over 40 years.

East Riding Partnership (ERP) – is a partnership between ADS and Humber Teaching NHS trust. It has three hubs, Hull, Bridlington and Goole. It is multi-disciplinary team led by a consultant and provides treatment services in the community. The services include aftercare, young people, community rehabilitation programme, a specialist supporting image and performing enhancing drugs/steroids and a team supporting service users and cares through a team of volunteers and peer mentors.

It is a very exciting time to be working in the drug and alcohol field, with significant new career opportunities being created.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team, based in Bridlington. The role will support service users with diverse and complex needs and their families with issues relating to substance use including alcohol. The post would involve assessing need from a person centred and strength-based perspective. You will have a good understanding of recovery and have a value base that stems from a strongly held working belief in individuals’ ability to change and live in recovery along with a desire to ensure each service user has access to the information and 'tools' needed to live a fulfilling life in recovery.

We are currently recruiting for 3 Evening / Night Assistant Domestic Abuse Support Workers to join the team on a permanent basis following the successful acquisition of a new Refuge service in Rochdale. This is part time role, working 16.33 hours per week on a 3-week rolling rota.

The role

• To accept new referrals and complete move in procedures for new clients, including supporting flat turnarounds, cleaning, and re-stock to ensure there is no delay in accommodation any referral.
• Ensure the upkeep and security of the building and take responsibility for any cash and equipment.
• Maintaining an understanding and awareness of and adhering to all support plans and risk assessments and to update the Domestic Abuse Support Worker (DASW) of changes to risk or incidents.
• To provide feedback to the DASW regarding tenant's SMART plans and aims achieved, recorded documentation on client database.
• To complete risk assessments for activities both 1-1 and group work, incorporating safety planning, reviewing on a regular basis.
• To work with clients and other staff to devise an annual plan for client involvement, to actively engage the individuals and families within the Rochdale DA safe accommodation service, promoting lived experience involvement in service delivery and improvement.
• Facilitate evening group work and promote, monitor and evaluate involvement sessions in conjunction with the people using services.
• To work in-line with the project's budget, adhering to financial policies and procedures.
• To monitor the security and safety of the premises on an ongoing basis, including CCTV, front door entry system and alarm system.
• To be responsible and accountable for the efficient recording, storing and maintaining of client records including contact notes, correspondence, incident reporting, handovers, risk updates and outcomes achieved.
• Record and manage any anti-social behaviour or neighbour nuisance and respond appropriately according to escalation procedure.

The candidate

• Relevant qualification in Domestic Abuse / IDVA / ISVA or equivalent diploma / degree / NVQ 3 or equivalent work level experience and the willingness to achieve a level 3 qualification.
• An extensive understanding of individuals and families who have or are experiencing domestic abuse.
• Knowledge of working as part of a team, working on own initiative and managing time effectively.
• Ability and knowledge of planning, promoting, or delivering group work sessions with evaluation.
• Knowledge of providing support on agreed outcomes of assessment support plans.
• Knowledge of assessing and implementing risk assessments, including DASH Ric.
• Knowledge of the impact of multiple disadvantages, complex support needs and homelessness.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and relative legislation.
• Knowledge of health and safety and lone working.

Your New Role

As a Management Accountant, you will support the fundraising team, including team leaders, managers, and the Director, with budgeting and forecasting. Your key responsibilities will include providing financial analysis, budget support, and financial planning. You will prepare management accounts, conduct variance analysis, and assist with the annual budget process. Additionally, you will monitor actual performance against budget, forecast for the year, and prepare journal adjustments, month-end accruals, and prepayments.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Significant experience in Management Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in the month-end process.
• Experience in preparing and posting journal entries (standard journals, accruals).
• Strong ability to communicate with and present information to senior management and provide advice to non-financial budget holders.
• Ideally, you are a qualified accountant or very close to qualification.

Night Assessment Worker - Rough Sleeping Services

London - Hackney, Brent, Southwark and Lewisham

Are you looking to start your career supporting vulnerable adults; working for a charity who makes a real difference to the lives of people who are homeless every day?

Our client has roles available in Hackney, Brent, Southwark and Lewisham.

They provide a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. They are currently looking for people to join their teams as Night Assessment Workers in their No Second Night Out Assessment Hubs. In these roles you will: 

• Work as part of a busy team environment working closely with those affected by rough sleeping. 

• Provide a safe and supportive environment at night to clients; carrying out assessment when clients first arrive out the service.  

• Work on a 7 day weekly night rota pattern with an average of 3 waking night shifts in a row (for example 8pm–8.30am or 9pm–8am) 

About you 

These crucial roles will suit people with an interest in in developing key skills to build a career working in a support role, as well as:

• Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or customers in a busy service environment. 

• Good communication skills and the ability to work with others effectively to get things done.

• Some understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.

• You don’t need to have direct experience, above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.
