Company Description

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.

Job Description

We're looking for two ambitious Philanthropy Leads to join Marie Curie at an exciting time of growth.

As we invest significantly in philanthropy, you'll help secure transformational gifts, build relationships with high-net-worth supporters, and play a key role in shaping the future of one of the UK's most recognised charities.

This is a rare opportunity to join a team on an exciting growth journey and help build something truly transformational. The organisation is investing heavily in philanthropy, creating momentum, opportunity and the support needed to succeed

  • Building and growing a pipeline of new prospects through research, networking and proactive relationship building
  • Creating bespoke engagement plans that inspire supporters and deepen long-term commitment
  • Leading five and six-figure funding conversations with confidence and credibility
  • Partnering with senior leaders, trustees, patrons and volunteers to unlock networks and opportunities
  • Representing Marie Curie externally and building relationships with influential audiences across the UK
  • Helping shape the future of philanthropy at Marie Curie through innovation, insight and strategic thinking

What we're looking for

  • A proven track record of securing major gifts or high-value partnerships
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and influencing senior decision-makers
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and convert opportunities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence making significant funding asks and managing long-term donor relationships
  • Resilience, curiosity and a proactive approach to new business development
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to contribute to a growing, ambitious team

You don't need to come from a charity major gifts background. We welcome applications from individuals with transferable experience in relationship-led, high-value environments, including fundraising, wealth management, private banking, business development, partnerships or other client-facing sectors.
