Job description

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead and work as part of our team at Grove Court, Newcastle-Under-Lyme.

*Appointments will be made at the bottom of the salary banding

Grove Court is 24 hours 12 bed registered Residential Care Home. This service supports male and female residents with severe mental illness.

How you will make a difference:

  • I ensure the delivery of safe, personalised services to each individual service user through assessment, person-centred planning and regular outcome focused reviews of services. 
  • I ensure the development of aspirational support planning for individual residents.
  • I ensure safe systems of work, such as personal safety and lone working; and compliance with all Rethink Mental Illness’ safety policies and systems. 
  • I develop the quality of information recorded on Rethink Information System (RIS) and support staff in their use of RIS and the culture of person-centred support planning. 
  • I ensure effective incident and accident management recording on Hive in line with legislation and contractual requirements, adhering to internal policies and procedures and regulatory notifications. 
  • I maximise service user experience through developing an effective complaints management culture and recording on Hive in line with internal policies and procedures 
  • I take a safeguarding lead role in the service, ensuring effective safeguarding practice and reporting. Establishing effective professional relationship with the safeguarding team.
  • I provide effective line management to staff, including dealing with conduct, performance and attendance issues under relevant policies and procedures. 
  • I recruit the best talent, managing the recruitment of staff as the selection panel leader, ensuring compliance with Recruitment & Selection policy and Equality legislation. 

Some of the essential skills and experience required:

  • I have achieved (or working towards) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health & Social Care or the equivalent.
  • 2 years relevant experience in an operational management capacity in a health/social care setting. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities and standards for CQC registered services, including the need for the management and delivery of person-centred services. 
  • Experience of providing effective supervision, leadership and management of staff. 
  • Must have experience of directly working with people with a severe mental illness.
  • Must have experience of working within statutory agencies.
