We partner with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust (GMMH) to deliver Trafford Living Well and with Trafford Libraries to co-deliver library services from two of our centres. Bluesci at Night offers a safe, welcoming space for people 365 nights a year, and we also provide Smoking Cessation Support.  

We are recruiting for a Wellbeing Practitioner to join our specialist Smoking Cessation Service to help people on their journey to reducing and/or quitting smoking. Experience of smoking cessation is desirable, but what's more important is an understanding of social prescribing and a commitment ot empowering inidviduals and communities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 7) – Fixed Term Contract November 2026 to join our Rehabilitation services team. This role is to provide high quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention to children and young people with neurodisabilities, neurodevelopmental and orthopaedic conditions and respiratory needs. All interventions will be goal focused, evidence-based, and child and family centred.

Role Requirements

• Assess, plan, execute and evaluate physiotherapy interventions for referred children, within a multidisciplinary team setting and using facilities available, both on and off site.
• Carry out highly specialist physiotherapy assessments and interventions, including support for the on-site Botox clinic; Casing; and Orthotics provision.
• Produce functional goals in collaboration with the child / young person, family and MDT.
• Devise suitable, individualised, 24hr physiotherapy/postural management programmes for each child, whether to be carried out by parents or members of the Multidisciplinary Team; these should be monitored, evaluated and adjusted appropriately according to the needs of the child. Work collaboratively with families to maximise engagement in therapy sessions; support the management of and promote confidence, in meeting their child’s needs.
• Assess for and organise provision of necessary therapy equipment and/or orthotics. This may be loaned equipment for use at The Children’s Trust or recommendations for equipment for long-term use on return home.
• Teach, integrate and monitor physiotherapy interventions/ advice in the child’s environment, whether it is carried out by parents, therapy staff, nursing or care staff.
• Work closely with all members of the Multidisciplinary Team, as well as the child and family, to provide a fully integrated approach to the overall management of the child. This will include any home/school visits, professional child related meetings and/ or appointments, as required.
• Implement and monitor chest management and physiotherapy programmes.
• Liaise with external services and follow respiratory guidelines set by tertiary centers. Support the implementation of child specific respiratory physiotherapy management plans and monitor how well they are working. Escalate issues around respiratory concerns to specialist providers outside of the organisation that support respiratory management.
• Support the implementation of specific respiratory physiotherapy management plans, including: basic manual techniques, appropriate use of oxygen in ventilator support, demonstrating an awareness of inadequate ventilation and when to escalate care accordingly, ensuring awareness of how other components of the child’s care, impacts on their respiratory function.
• Use awareness of how other components of the child’s care may impact on their respiratory function.
• Use awareness of how a 24hr postural management programme impacts on the respiratory system, sleep pattern and the compliance to rehabilitation, in order to inform physiotherapy interventions and the multidisciplinary care and therapy plans.
• Support the delivery of 24hr rehabilitation, through the provision of advice/ information, education and modeling, to the Multidisciplinary Team, tailoring the provision of information to the needs of the child, their family and the staff concerned.
• Liaise with all appropriate medical staff, whether employed by The Children’s Trust, visiting consultants or at off-site clinics and attend clinics with the child, as and when required.
• Contribute to the assessment and discussion of new referrals to The Children’s Trust, carrying out off-site referral assessments around the United Kingdom, as required.
• Work collaboratively with professional colleagues in other services, to facilitate the admission and discharge process.

Peer support Workers hold a key position in the Trafford Living Well service, working with individuals and groups, to help people to reach their individual recovery goals.

Peer support workers support individuals to establish greater control over their lives, helping to identify aspects of life that give meaning, hope, value and purpose whilst recognising that everyone’s recovery is a uniquely personal process.

As an integral and valued member of the multi-agency team, the post holder will support team members by role modelling and using lived experience of mental health services to shape the service's quality.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:  

We are looking for a Data & Impact Manager with a minimum of 2 years’ work experience to lead, manage and ensure the effective day-to-day execution of DanceSyndrome’s Data & Impact work. You will lead on data collection and gathering impact and evidence through a number of different tools from various Stakeholders and analyse and interpret the results to inform Organisational Strategy and Operations. The role will assist to embed DanceSyndrome’s Evaluation Framework, which has an emphasis on the Five Ways to Wellbeing.

Responsibilities – Monitoring & Evaluation duties:  

• To develop a robust data collection system for DanceSyndrome on an annual basis.
• To develop & implement flexible, user friendly monitoring and evaluation tools to gather impact & evidence from different stakeholders (e.g. beneficiaries who are people with learning disabilities, parents & carers, wider eco-system of partners and supporters).
• To ensure data is collected in ways that are accessible and co-designed, so that people with learning disabilities can help shape how their views and experiences are gathered and shared. This includes using creative and inclusive tools that reflect DanceSyndrome’s values of equality, respect, and inclusion.
• To ensure we use a consistent and streamlined approach to gathering data.
• To work collaboratively around data collection 
• To have full oversight of all surveys and findings
• To update surveys as required e.g. where there is a gap in data collection
• To fulfil all funder requirements regarding data collection and reporting and to work closely with the Fundraising Lead and Communications Manager on this.
• To capture our daily activities & participation numbers (Including events) and filling in external data forms for our partners, for example Caritas Care. 
• To share key learning and results with the wider team for organisational strategic development, funding applications and reports, relevant press and marketing materials.

Part 3b: OTHER DUTIES 

• To undertake any relevant training as required by the charity. 
• To follow all relevant charity policies and procedures. 
• To contribute to the strategic development of the organisation by contributing at team meetings, writing a report for the Board on a quarterly basis and engaging with any other related work. 
• To fulfil any other tasks requested by the Managing Director or the Board in order to support the continued development of DanceSyndrome.

About the role 

Our mission at Hope into Action is to enable the local church to house the homeless and we’re looking for a Church and Tenant Empowerment worker to join our team in Portsmouth. 

The role is based at our office in Portsmouth working in partnership with local churches to support and empower tenants in our homes in Portsmouth and the surrounding area. Our homes comprise of single male tenants or single female tenants or families, all of whom have experienced homelessness, and your role will be ensuring that all tenants have up to date personal development plans, risk assessments and ongoing support. 

Each home is partnered with a local church who provide love and friendship for the tenants, that you will also support. This will involve actively engaging with the church and maintaining church interest in the Hope into Action project. The role includes training, equipping, and encouraging church volunteers in their role as mentors and befrienders to the tenants. 

You will need to have a flexible approach to working outside of the normal 9-5 to be able to engage with tenants that work and the volunteers. You will be required to occasionally speak in Sunday services and get involved in occasional weekend and evening events. We are a Christian organisation and candidates values must be in keeping with the Christian faith.

About you 

For this role, you would be someone with a passion for the homeless and our values, who is able to work with church leaders and church members. You will need to be able to work with tenants with support needs, including poor mental health, past offending, and drug and alcohol dependency issues. We value good listening skills. The ability to work in a flexible team and learn new skills is important as we foster working within a strong supportive team. As a key role within Hope into Action you must demonstrate your sympathy with the Christian faith and the mission and values of the organisation

As an Outreach Advocate within The Angelou Centre you will be part of our front-line team providing emotional and trauma informed support to women and children experiencing gender based domestic abuse.  The primary responsibility of all advocates within The Angelou is to provide women and children with continuous one-to-one support, practical advice and advocacy, such as writing referrals for women to access the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). Much of this work takes the form of casework, and report writing, as well as ensuring that the women receive comprehensive support that addresses their health, social care, housing, immigration and benefit-related needs.

All advocates are required to spent at least 30% of your time on outreach work to engage with communities outside of The Angelou Centre. However, as our new Outreach Advocate you will spend 3 days with Wearside Women in Need (WWIN) based in Sunderland and 2 days working within our office in Newcastle. This is a new partnership work to ensure that we continue to provide specialist Black and racialised support across the North East. You will work in Sunderland and Newcastle to provide tailored support, advice and advocacy, raising awareness of domestic abuse through outreach activities ensuring our services are accessible to women of the Black and racialised community.

Our ideal candidate is someone who;

• Is confident and pro-active in advocating on behalf of our survivors and able to represent their needs when working with partner agencies
• Is compassionate, non-judgmental and committed to supporting survivors of domestic abuse
• Has excellent written skills with some experience of casework within legal, healthcare or an educational setting.
• Has experience of conducting risk and needs assessments within legal, healthcare or an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

 Advice and Advocacy Support

• Provide tailored, one-to-one continuous support, advice, and advocacy to black and minoritised victims and survivors of domestic abuse and exploitation
• Provide weekly drop-in opportunities for black and racially minoritized women in the local area
• Support improved mental wellbeing and resilience, measured using Warwick Edinburgh Mental Well Being Scale and the Chaos Index for those with complex needs.
• To be aware of external service processes to safeguard individuals who are exposed to sexual exploitation.

Outreach Support

• To attend external team meetings and presentations in relevant forums and partnerships
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with key organisations and their staff to support women to gain access to the services they require.

Casework

• Complete regular risk assessment tools for each case supported and risk management plans, including DASH RIC assessments.
• Complete reports, to assist Line Manager in providing detailed reports to funders
• Maintain in depth and up-to-date knowledge of all practice, procedures and policies.

Outreach Advocacy Specific

• To develop specialist knowledge in the area of domestic abuse, immigration abuse and gender-based violence, and how this impacts women from Black and racialized minorities differently, through attendance at relevant training, learning events and conferences
• Raise awareness on domestic abuse education through outreach activities, ensuring services are accessible to those with protected characteristics and/or facing multiple disadvantages.
• Help improve local services understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse for women and girls from the Black and racialised communities and the long-term impact.

In order to deliver services effectively, a degree of flexibility is required and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties however, will fall within the scope of the job at the appropriate grade. This job description will be subjected to review with the post holder, to ensure that it accurately reflects the duties and range of the post. The aim is to improve the quality of service for black and racialized women and all matters relating to their wellbeing.

Person Specification

Experience & Abilities

• Experience of supporting women who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse
• Experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, particularly with clients with complex/multiple needs
• Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders; particularly social care.
• Experience of managing a high caseload
• Strong IT skills with experience around data collection and monitoring
• Excellent written abilities, with some experience within preparing reports for courts, case conference and information for MARAC
• Experience around setting clear professional boundaries with clients and partners
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team and with statutory organisations

Knowledge & Qualifications

• An excellent understanding of sexual violence
• An excellent understanding of UK policies and legislation around domestic abuse
• Good knowledge of UK adult safeguarding practice, procedures and legislation.
• Safeguarding Adults and Children Level 1
• A good understanding of confidentiality and anti-discriminatory practice; safe practice and health and safety procedures

The Special Events Officer is an exciting role at MDUK, that will sit within the Development department under the High Value Engagement team.  The High Value Engagement team is part of a successful Fundraising team that includes a Community and Challenge Events team, Trusts team, Individual Giving team, and Supporter Services Team. 

You’ll work closely with the Special Events Manager to provide key support so the team achieves agreed fundraising targets and objectives through the delivery of a series of high-quality events and major donor fundraising:.

Lead on key elements of Special Event tasks including sourcing prizes, marketing, liaising with suppliers and thanking supporters.

• Lead on the end-to-end delivery of two annual Special Events in the portfolio including the Clay Pigeon Shoot

• To manage guest lists and guest liaison for all Special Events including recording contact details and dietary requirements. Key areas of responsibility: Special Events

• To lead on all aspects of the planning and implementation of two key special events, including chairing committee meetings and working with them to cultivate attendance sourcing sponsorship, liaising with the venue, organising logistics, managing the expenditure budget & achieving income targets, and all other aspects of event delivery and marketing.

• Work directly with the Digital Marketing Manager to design and administer a new system for thanking event participants to promote long-term support and streamlined stewardship journey

• Provide support to all Special Event committee meetings through attendance and ensuring timely actions are followed up.
