MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The sanctuary offers a home-from-home environment for all our residents.  Under direction you will be required to always provide and maintain a high standard of care and quality of life for all sanctuary residents in a safe and happy environment.  To offer love, comfort, stimulation, compassion, stability and security to all residents including the wildlife, ensuring their environment is the perfect sanctuary.

Under direction, you will be responsible for the welfare and happiness of each resident, ensuring the physical and emotional wellbeing of all residents in your charge, through constant interaction, whilst still maintaining consistently high standards of hygiene for each resident and throughout the sanctuary with daily cleaning duties.

There are many physical elements including cleaning, grooming, lifting residents, bending and working outdoors, so the capability to carry out all such tasks is essential. 

A love of animals together with the commitment and dedication needed to enrich their time at the sanctuary, during their latter years of life, and for those pets undergoing palliative care is also essential.  Full training will be given.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under direction you will be required to:-

i. Care for each resident like your own family, to build bonds with each resident in your charge, to understand each individual character, their likes, dislikes, personality and needs, to be receptive and understanding and have the ability to spot when things are not quite right.

ii. Minimise the trauma to any resident at a time of illness with compassionate care and, if needed, staying with them to reassure and “not clock off” when the shift ends.

iii. Provide stability by way of a routine with regard to meal times, exercise, grooming and cleaning, so all residents feel safe and secure. 

iv. Provide meals, ie breakfast, lunch and evening meals as well as any extra meals required for residents’ needs.

v. Ensure bedding, towels and coats are washed, bowls, toys, grooming implements and curtains are cleaned.  The living quarters for all residents to be spotlessly clean, utensils washed, floors hoovered and mopped.  To be able to add the extra little touches to further enhance their living quarters and surroundings. 

vi. Pick up animal waste from rooms, patio areas and whilst out walking and dispose of in a safe and hygienic fashion.

vii. Daily cleaning duties to include outside areas of the sanctuary ie stables, aviaries, paddocks, yards and cat gardens having regard for the general tidiness and cleanliness of the entire sanctuary.

viii. Communicate with all residents throughout your shift, be compassionate, patient, gentle and fun.

ix. Prioritise own workload as well as work within a team, communicate effectively with other team members, give and receive emotional support at difficult times when a resident dies. 

x. Meet and greet visitors to the sanctuary as and when required.

xi. Liaise with all other staff of the Trust in a flexible manner.

xii. Be familiar with and adhere to The Trust’s procedures, disciplinary and applicable rules and ensure compliance with legislation (Health and Safety, Data Protection, especially the privacy of members, petitioners and volunteers alike).

xiii. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for the Trust.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. Your responsibilities will include maintaining payroll data, updating employee records, verifying timesheets, logging staff absences, and addressing payroll queries swiftly and effectively. You will also support payroll reconciliations for SSP, SMP, SPP, and pension accounts, as well as assist with year-end tasks such as audits, PSA, and P11D submissions. Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including inputting and reconciling timesheets, calculating holiday pay, and updating payroll records.
• Support year-end activities such as PSA and P11D calculations and submissions, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and internal policies.
• Manage pension contributions and submissions, ensuring accurate data uploads to pension portals and compliance with scheme rules and statutory requirements.
• Administer statutory and occupational sick pay in line with current legislation and company policies, with a strong understanding of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) rules and accurate processing of sickness absences.
• Maintain payroll data integrity through regular system updates, data cleansing, and the implementation of necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy.
• Deliver a high level of service by responding promptly and professionally to payroll-related queries from employees and stakeholders.
• Partner with the Payroll Manager and Finance team on ad hoc projects, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Foster strong working relationships across departments to support seamless payroll operations and effective communication.
• Commit to working one additional day per month during payroll processing periods to meet operational demands.
• Provide cover for the Payroll Manager during periods of absence, contributing to the continuity of critical payroll cycles and strategic projects.

Education & Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent with good results in Maths & English

Hours: Full time – 36 hours

Salary:  £26,994 – £28,922 dependent on experience

Main Purpose of Job

· To be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of our advice services via telephone, email/web, in person and at outreach venues.

· To line manage team leads, debt caseworkers and the energy adviser and support them in achieving high standards of accessible advice services.

· To oversee the use of our volunteer adviser resources to cover each of our advice channels in the most effective way.

· To liaise with the training lead to ensure we have sufficient, well trained volunteer advice resources to deliver our service.

· To ensure cover for Advice Session Supervisors when needed

· To provide training, guidance and support on client records, telephone channel and quality standards

· To design and implement improvements to our advice processes based on best practice, leading and gaining buy-in from team members as necessary.

· To be overall responsible for the quality of our advice in line with our Quality of Advice framework and IFR’s to drive the organisation towards excellence in quality.

· To be responsible for Debt technical supervision and carry out continuous professional development activities and duties within the organisation.

· In maintaining quality, you will need to inspire and motivate your team and provide focussed individual support where necessary to achieve internal and external quality and KPI standards

· To ensure the advice team contribute to the development of social policy in line with our business plan

Management duties

· You will be accountable and responsible for delivering the service delivery related objectives and outcomes from the organisation’s Business Plan and service-related KPIs.

· Prepare and issue reports as required for the CEO, funders and partners, attending meetings as required to present findings and recommendations 

Learning and professional development  

· Keep up to date with legislation relevant to the role, trends, ideas and thinking

· Attend and actively participate in regular support and supervision sessions and appraisals with the Chief Executive Officer

Administration

Core Member, Office and Communications

Your working week will encompass a range of core tasks that are often shared amongst community members. You will be expected (after an initial learning and induction period) to host and facilitate events, lead chapel gatherings, take a turn cooking, cleaning and helping around the house and gardens. If you have particular practical skills in these areas that would be an advantage. On occasion you will need to cover for colleagues in their absence. These shared tasks apply to all established members of our core community and we work very much as a team to plan our work and develop our offer to our visitors

As Core Community Member with lead responsibility for office work and digital communication at Othona you’ll be representing the ethos and values of Othona to all who contact the Centre, offering a friendly and helpful response and working to increase our online presence and thus our reach.

You will need to be a good administrator, and enjoy planning and organising the office tasks including responding to enquiries, taking bookings, maintaining good records and other aspects of office work.

You will have good digital skills and be at ease in using social media and other online communication. You will become the key person in rationalising and improving our office IT and in exploring effective new marketing opportunities. Your work, within an overall communications policy agreed with the warden as your line manager, will help us to attract a wider demographic to attend and enjoy what Othona offers.

But just as important, you need the personal qualities to interact sensitively with our visitors and other contacts, to be well organised without being inflexible, to cope calmly in changing circumstances and work cheerfully in a small team. So spiritual and emotional intelligence and an interest in people will need to underpin your technical skills.

You will need to live on-site where the available accommodation is a self-contained flat. A job-share with someone who shares your accommodation could be feasible. Please let us know if you have this in mind so that we can discuss the practicalities.  

The salary offered is £9,918.38, with full board and lodging, pension provision, utility bills and council tax paid by Othona, this equates to a much higher figure in real terms and is in accordance with relevant provisions within the National Minimum Wage Act. As Energy Adviser - Leeds you will manage a caseload of disabled households struggling with their energy and water bills, supporting, and empowering them over the phone. Supported Housing Manager

Treasures Foundation offers accommodation and outreach to vulnerable women who have backgrounds of addiction, trauma, mental health and the criminal justice system. We provide housing and support until women can make the transition into their own homes, with some long-arm support extending beyond this period.

The Area Manager will work alongside the COO and CEO to help develop and manage the existing service as well as a new detox provision. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Providing guidance to Specialist Support Manager, Project workers and Volunteers to support their professional development, ensuring that the service is run professionally, efficiently and effectively.
