Position Overview: The Funder & Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between funders and the charities we support. Key Responsibilities: 

Fundraising Support:

• Implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to assess the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and support provided.

• Prepare regular reports on activities, outcomes, and impacts for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience: 

• At least 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, grant management or not-for-profit management.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. 

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training and capacity-building programs.

About the Role

The Legal Officer will be an integral part of the UK Litigation team and will work closely with external legal teams to advance our cases and ensure coordination of legal actions in line with Reprieve’s strategic goals. They will be responsible for administration and maintenance of casefiles and key case management documents and assume certain day-to-day file management responsibilities. They will feed into case strategy discussions and will support the team by conducting and overseeing legal and factual research, drafting documents for litigation and advocacy purposes, and producing and maintaining core internal documents and records. The Legal Officer will also help advance investigations on selected cases, coordinating record collection, feeding into investigation plans and supporting other investigative work. 

In addition to working on UK legal cases, the role will encompass work on Reprieve’s cross-cutting strategic United Nations engagement and international litigation. This will involve monitoring for relevant opportunities to shape international law and working on international legal submissions, particularly before international human rights complaints mechanisms and international tribunals. 

There may also be opportunities to contribute to other areas of Reprieve’s work. 

The Legal Officer will be responsible for overseeing and line managing trainees seconded from partner law firms.

About the Role

The Lead Lawyer - Africa Death Penalty Team is responsible for coordinating Reprieve’s litigation and advocacy in Sub-Saharan Africa. At the moment, the team works on death penalty casework and abolition advocacy in Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya. 

Our casework includes work on appeals to the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal in the context of historic denials of a right to appeal and related contextual challenges; large-scale projects, such as the Kenya resentencing project, wherein we support stakeholders to ensure 5,000+ people are able to access a chance at reducing their sentence from death via a new sentence hearing, as well as supporting on individual strategic resentencing cases; and long-term regional projects, such as our strategic litigation before the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which challenges the mandatory death penalty, torture, and other associated violations of the African Charter. We are looking for an ambitious and autonomous individual to develop, deliver and grow our long-term regional corporate fundraising programme.

The key aim of the role is to secure new corporate partnerships which will both contribute to Canal & River Trust’s core mission of Keeping Canals Open & Alive and help companies to achieve their own Corporate Social Responsibility goals.

You will work with businesses and organisations across Wales and the South West to secure support for work and projects that further our charitable objectives.  You will be focussed on securing unrestricted income or restricted funding towards work within annual business plans.

You will be able to use your skills and expertise in corporate/charitable fundraising to help shape the projects and initiatives to help achieve your targets, with the key focus areas outlined below:

• prospecting new corporate partners, identifying new growth opportunities that match our charitable objectives, developing cultivation plans to build partnerships
• stewarding relationships to ensure that our corporate partners feel valued and connected to the Trust’s objectives

We are looking for a part time Training Standards Officer (21 hours per week) to work in the Learning Directorate at the Royal College of Pathologists. This role is key to support our members by facilitating the maintenance of specialty postgraduate curricula in seven pathology specialties and subspecialties, as well as ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements of the GMC.

This role will project manage the quality assurance processes for training qualifications our members complete as part of their professional development. Your role will be to review and update the curricula for all College qualifications and provide regular reports for both internal and external bodies. We are looking for a strong administrator who can plan and implement a timetable for regular reviews of curricula by committees, ensuring compliance with timelines/deadlines as required.

The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. It is a body of its Fellows, Diplomates, Affiliates and trainees, supported by the staff who are based at the College's London offices.

The College is a charity with over 13000 members worldwide. The majority of members are doctors and scientists working in hospitals and universities in the UK.

We're looking for an LGBTQ+ drug and alcohol recovery worker to jin our Antidote drug and alcohol service.

London Friend’s Antidote service provides high quality drug & alcohol psycho-social treatment and support to LGBTQ+ people utilising harm reduction & abstinence-based methods.  Antidote is a part of London Friend which aims to support and promote health & wellbeing for LGBTQ+ people living in the London area.

We are working in partnership delivering substance misuse treatment and support in the London Boroughs of Westminster; Kensington & Chelsea; and Hammersmith & Fulham. This is led by Turning Point. London Friend is the LGBTQ+ lead for the partnership.

Recovery support workers will provide support to LGBTQ+ people experiencing difficulties with drug or alcohol use, including supporting those engaged in chemsex, and incorporating HIV prevention initiatives and sexual health support. They will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for their assessment, case planning, review, and ongoing care. They will deliver group programmes and provide outreach to LGBTQ+ people in community settings including local sexual health clinics.

The postholder will be employed by London Friend and work within a multi-agency team based in the Boroughs and local satellite locations including the local Turning Point service several times a week. They will also assist with the delivery of Antidote’s services, including our walk-in clinics and group programmes, with a priority on identifying and supporting residents of the Boroughs.

The post-holder will take an active anti-discriminatory, anti-racism and trans-inclusive approach around all areas of work and will be an active member of both London Friend and the DAWS Partnership and will support with the aims & objectives of both services.

Due to the nature of the work and in order to provide appropriate access for the clients group the role requires regular evening work and occasional weekend working.

Core responsibilities within your role will be to:

• Shape proactive, impactful media plans as well as responding to reactive media inquiries.
• Manage relationships with journalists and craft attractive copy for press releases and a range of other communications purposes.
• Support team members to identify media and communications opportunities related to their work.
• Brief and thoroughly prepare senior staff and AdviceUK members for appearances in broadcast media.
• Liaise with the marketing team to identify opportunities to promote policy and public affairs work through social media and other owned channels.

The purpose of this role is to support the policy and public affairs team to raise awareness of AdviceUK, their campaigns and the work of their members through the media. You will be an excellent communicator who can draft engaging copy for press releases and other media. You will be a fast learner, who can pick up new topics and issues with ease, and you'll be data-focused, able to use robust evidence to support press comments.

We would love to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience working in a press office environment, working on proactive and reactive comments and campaigns.
• Experience building contacts and relationships with journalists from a wide range of media outlets.
• Experience preparing senior staff for media appearances
• The ability to draft press releases and web copy on a range of issues
• A track record of delivering successful high impact press campaigns.
• Experience working sensitively with case studies and vulnerable individuals
