About the role

This role will support and empower LGBT survivors of domestic abuse to overcome the impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives. You will provide direct advocacy and step-down support for medium-risk individuals in safe accommodation, enabling them to engage with a range of recovery-focused interventions.

Your work will be trauma-informed, empowerment-based, and person-centred, tailored to each individual’s needs. Support may include emotional and practical assistance, help to navigate specialist services, and enabling clients to access group recovery sessions or one-to-one psychoeducational interventions.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a service that goes beyond crisis response, focusing on recovery, resilience, and empowerment for survivors at a pivotal stage in their journey.

• Supporting the Retail Manager in recruiting and managing volunteers and ensuring all staff and volunteers are following Marie Curie procedures and guidelines. 

• In the absence of the Retail Manager, taking responsibility for the overall management and operation of the store.

Fundraising Manager

Help Men Begin Their Path to Recovery

We are looking for a compassionate and organised Referrals Practitioner to join our team and play a vital role in welcoming new residents into recovery. About the Role

The Referrals Practitioner supports all aspects of our referral process – from handling enquiries and assessing applications to ensuring smooth, safe, and supportive arrivals for new residents. Working alongside the Referrals Coordinator, you will:

• Respond to referrals and enquiries with professionalism and compassion
• Carry out assessments in line with Nehemiah’s admissions procedures
• Build relationships with referral agencies, prisons, and community partners
• Provide feedback to applicants and agencies on referral outcomes
• Arrange and support resident arrivals, including prison gate pickups where required
• Help ensure our houses remain safe, positive recovery environments
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and monitoring

This is a varied role where no two days are the same – you might be assessing an application one morning, presenting to a prison referral team in the afternoon, and welcoming a new resident from the community the next day.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone who is:

• Experienced in working with vulnerable adults in recovery, the criminal justice system, or related fields (paid, voluntary, or lived)
• Skilled in communication, with the ability to build trust and rapport with residents, partners, and colleagues
• Organised and confident using IT systems (ideally including Salesforce or similar CRM tools)
• Able to demonstrate resilience and empathy in challenging situations
• Understanding of addiction recovery and safeguarding principles
• NVQ3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent experience (including lived experience)

Job Purpose: To work with the Youth & Universities team to deliver F&BF’s programmes and projects

Duties and Responsibilities

All activities will be undertaken in collaboration with the Youth Voice & Universities team.

Delivery

· To support delivery of the UN award-winning ParliaMentors programme (1.5 days per week):

o Being responsible for 2 teams of university students.

o Supporting 12 London-based students by: having 1:1 coaching calls with each of them to offer guidance and support; conducting sessions to support the teams with their social action projects and identifying area for development; conducting sessions to work through any team dynamic issues that arise.

o Supporting with facilitation of workshops related to social action, politics, leadership and interfaith.

o Administrative and logistical support (e.g., room bookings, processing reimbursements, coordinating student travels).

· To support delivery of City Bridge Trust (CBT) work (3.5 days per week):

o Responsible for overseeing the deliverables for this funder, ensuring all deadlines are met.

o Responsible for delivering four interfaith trainings for Local Authorities within London.

o Planning and delivering the annual Youth Interfaith Summit, the UK’s largest interfaith event for the climate.

o Coordinating the Youth Advisory Board, a group of young interfaith activists who will codesign the Summit.

o Responsible for coordinating the remainder of the Youth Forum for Faith and Ecology in partnership with LSE.

o Identifying and facilitating partnerships between alumni network and other relevant organizations.

Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: The role is based in East Croydon, accessible by Train and Tram Link. Unfortunately this location does not have step free access.

About the role

We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who has experience in Complex Mental Health and Substance Misuse to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will use your skills and knowledge to support residents with mental health challenges, complex needs, and will provide specialist occupational therapy as part of their recovery. This is a great opportunity to shape your own role, alongside a team of Positive Engagement Workers, a Dual Diagnosis Worker, and Clinical Psychologist, whilst working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and other external partnerships. You will receive regular supervisions and have time with an external Occupational Therapist. 

You will:

• Deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills
• Be proactive with planning and delivering meaningful activities; this includes one to one and group sessions
• Work closely with clinical teams to meet people where they are, assess their situation, and write recommendations and signposting accordingly
• Assess their current situation through holistic assessments and put plans in place for them to overcome their personal barriers, to enable them for independent living and stability
• Provide psychologically informed interventions in a person-centred approach, flexibly to the resident needs
• Complete various assessments from function to task related to help empower enhanced community and personal engagement
• Set SMART goals in a collaborative way with residents, taking into account all information present from various team members and partner agencies.  

About you

We’re looking for a passionate, driven and qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC who has experience working with people that have multiple complex needs. You’ll be confident applying theory to the practical working environment. We use a trauma informed, non judgmental approach, so it’s important that you can work well with others, fit into the team, and build trusting relationships. You will be able to apply your knowledge of relevant guidance and protocols to the working environment. You will have a background in a similar role, able to provide specialist support to our residents who struggle with their mental health and substance use.

What we look for:

• Ability to provide specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment for residents/participants.
• Willingness to work in adherence to Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Consultation Observation Tool (COT) and other practice guidelines.
• Ability to identify activity needs and wishes through various approaches such as assessments, observations, and discussions then use these to implement plans of action.
• Ability to recognise signs of deteriorating mental health, physical health, or other health implications and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or other risks.
• Supporting residents/participants with the relevant life skills, knowledge, and resources to support their journey to achieve independence and their desired goals.
• Ability to develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running and development of various projects and group engagement activities.

The Role

Are you an experienced and committed professional with a genuine heart for leading the support for chaplaincy and collective worship across our schools, academies, colleges, and trusts?
