People Officer
Full-time (35 hours per week) | Permanent | Remote (UK-based, with occasional travel)
Salary: £31,592 – £32, 804
MLC are looking for an organised, proactive People Officer to join a small and supportive People team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys operational work and wants to build strong generalist experience across the full employee lifecycle.
Working closely with two Senior People Officers and the People Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring People processes run smoothly, accurately and on time. You will be a key first point of contact for routine HR queries, maintain People systems and records, and support clear and timely internal people-related communications.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including starters, leavers and contractual changes
- Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems, ensuring data protection and confidentiality
- Act as the first point of contact for routine HR queries, triaging more complex issues appropriately
- Support employees and managers in using HR systems, including self-service platforms
- Coordinate People Team communications, calendars and cyclical activities
- Support recruitment administration and onboarding processes
- Assist with learning and development administration, including training scheduling and record keeping
- Produce routine people data reports and support data quality checks
- Provide administrative support to People Team projects and initiatives
About you:
- CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in an HR, people or closely related administrative role
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confidence handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a helpful and professional approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 and learning new systems quickly
- A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused mindset
