People Operations Manager
Location: Flexible/Hybrid – Buckinghamshire
Contract: Full-time / Permanent
Salary: £40,000
MLC Partners are working with a charitable organisation to recruit a People Operations Manager to lead and evolve their people operations function. If you’re a strategic thinker with a knack for process improvement, systems management, and delivering people-first HR — this could be your next role!
About the Role
As People Operations Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture team. You'll drive continuous improvement, support recruitment and payroll processes, and ensure HR systems and data are accurate and effective. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders, line managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless and engaging employee experience.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the operational delivery of people services, including managing Sage People (HRIS)

Ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll in collaboration with the People Team Executive

Oversee recruitment processes, supporting hiring managers and ensuring onboarding compliance

Maintain up-to-date, user-friendly HR policies and procedures

Create and manage data dashboards using Power BI for actionable insights

Support volunteer and employee processes with a focus on compliance and experience

Produce monthly reports for the senior leadership team

Monitor staff engagement and employee experience across the organisation

Continuously identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency

Line management duties
About You

Proven experience in HR operations or People Team leadership

Strong project and process management skills

Working knowledge of HRIS platforms (ideally Sage People)

Proficiency in Power BI or similar reporting tools

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge of employment law, GDPR, and best-practice HR policies
