This exciting role will support on the delivery of income from a range of high-value donors within our philanthropy and corporate income streams. This position is key for both Helen Bamber Foundation and Asylum Aid and the postholder will work closely with the fundraising team, enabling the Senior Corporate and Philanthropy Executive and the Group Director of Fundraising to build successful funding partnerships.

We’re looking for a someone who is an effective communicator with a flair for writing, who is results-focused and organised. This role best suits someone who is eager to learn and work as part of a tight-knit and successful team, and who can respond creatively and consistently to our current and future donors’ requests.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in charity fundraising. Salary: £17,046.54 per annum (This is equivalent to a full-time effective salary of £28,410.90). We are an accredited member of the Living Wage Foundation.

Location: Unseen’s head office in Bristol with ad hoc UK travel (Hybrid approach with some working from home days. A degree of flexibility will be required). Please note this role requires the postholder to attend the Bristol office at least once a week.

Contract type: Permanent – This role is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund (funding secured until 2029).

Hours: Part-time – 22.5 hours per week (based on a full-time week of 37.5 hours). Hours to be worked Mon-Friday 9am-5pm, with a requirement to work on Wednesdays.

Unseen is working towards a world without slavery. We provide safehouses and support in the community for survivors of trafficking and modern slavery. We also run the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline and work with individuals, communities, businesses, governments, other charities, and statutory agencies to stamp out slavery for good. 

We draw on our expertise as a frontline organisation to produce evidenced strategies to protect survivors and eradicate exploitation. The Policy & Research team collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify good practice that informs our work and wider responses to modern slavery. Central to our work is the Unseen Survivor Consultants; lived experience experts who volunteer their time and insights to incorporate survivor voice into research design and policy recommendations.

Purpose of the role:

The Survivor Involvement Coordinator will support the continuous improvement of Unseen’s service delivery and support our research and policy influence work through the facilitation of the Unseen Survivor Consultant group.

You will work closely with Unseen’s Policy & Research team and have regular interactions with staff across Unseen’s wider teams including Business Services, Helpline Services, Support Services, Fundraising, Communications, and Operations. You will also support external researchers and stakeholders to collaborate with the Unseen Survivor Consultants.

The Fundraising Executive will provide essential operational support to the Fundraising Team, with primary responsibility for maintaining accurate, timely and useful information in our CRM system, Donorfy. The postholder will process and reconcile donations, maintain high-quality supporter records, coordinate prompt and personalised donor acknowledgements, and produce clear insights to support fundraising decisions across Helen Bamber Foundation and Asylum Aid.

We are looking for someone who is methodical, numerate and detail-focused, with the confidence to work across a CRM, banking and income records. They will combine excellent data discipline with warm donor care, helping colleagues use Donorfy consistently and sharing regular reports, trends and actionable insights with the Fundraising Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career in charity fundraising operations. In the role you will:

· Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate a dedicated team, ensuring they receive high quality supervision, training, and support.

· Champion Safety & Quality: Take ownership of Health & Safety compliance, safeguarding standards, and quality assurance measures including CQC and internal audits.

We operate ten safe houses and five outreach hubs, staffed round the clock by specialist staff, working with more than 600 men, women and dependent children each year. We work to raise awareness in the UK and to provide preventive work in source countries. Our Pursue work helps survivors to engage with police and within the legal system to seek justice and to secure convictions against their perpetrators.

WSC is a Scottish charity working in partnership with migrant workers at risk of exploitation across Scotland to secure their rights, challenge labour exploitation, build collective power, and drive lasting law and policy change. We are an evidence-led, worker-driven organisation with strong governance and a growing track record of policy impact. 

The Communications and Narratives Lead will work closely with, and be line managed by, the Executive Director, who sets the strategic direction, editorial oversight and quality standards for WSC's communications.

The postholder will lead the day-to-day delivery of WSC's communications and narrative change activity, creating compelling content across digital, print and social channels, supporting media and press work, and playing a central role in delivering WSC's Communications Strategy. This includes helping to build and mobilise a worker-led movement, supporting coalition and ally relationships, and delivering campaign moments that build public and political support for decent work for all.

This is a lead role for someone who combines significant, demonstrable experience in communications with a genuine interest in organising, campaigning and movement-building. We are looking for someone with relevant professional training or development, for example in media relations, campaigning or organising, or framing and narrative approaches, who can bring self-starting, leadership to this role.

Key Responsibilities

Content & Channel Management

• Develop and deliver WSC's Communications Strategy, supporting the development of strong narrative framing for engaging with our base, allies and potential/moveble audiences at the local, regional and national levels.

• Lead the development of high-quality, values-led content across digital, print and offline channels, including the website, social media, email, newsletters, reports and campaign materials.

• Manage and maintain WSC's social media channels, including planning content calendars, growing engagement, and monitoring performance.

• Manage and update WSC's website and digital platforms, ensuring content is current, accessible and on-brand.

• Maintain brand consistency, tone of voice and worker-centred storytelling across all communications.

• Ensure consistent and impactful messaging across all communications platforms.

Media & External Relations

• Draft press releases, briefings, statements and reactive lines, acting as a media spokesperson as well as supporting others in the organisation to do so.

• Build and maintain working relationships with journalists, media outlets and sector partners to secure opportunities that foreground the experiences and analysis of workers.

• Monitor media and online coverage (e.g. maintaining a media diary and social listening on key hashtags and terms) to spot shifts in language, sentiment and identify new communications opportunities.

Narrative change and movement building

• Oversee message framings that activate our strategic narrative grounded in workers’ rights and values such as solidarity, equality, safety, collaboration and creativity.

• Work with WSC colleagues, partners, artists, and researchers to develop and disseminate compelling storytelling content, including videos, articles, social media assets and artistic displays.

• Lead on testing and refining messaging with workers, allies and the wider public, including by leading and running workshops.

• Lead delivery of campaign moments and key dates ensuring worker voices are central and framing is consistent.

• Help identify, brief and support workers and messengers to share their experiences through media, events and public forums.

• Mobilise our base, allies and potential/moveable audiences around key policy opportunities, consultations and campaign moments, including public-facing activity aimed at growing WSC's movement of active supporters.

Stakeholder Engagement & Participation

• Help organise and deliver worker and ally events (e.g. seasonal in-person events, message-testing sessions and framing workshops) that help refine WSC's messaging.

• Build and maintain relationships with allies and coalition partners, including trade unions, human rights and housing organisations, food and farming networks, professional bodies and community organisations, supporting joint statements, shared briefings and coordinated campaign activity.

• Work collaboratively with policy, casework and operations colleagues to ensure communications and movement-building activity supports organisational priorities.

• Co-produce communications and campaign outputs with workers, including by attending worker power sessions, prioritising their voices, interests, concerns and ensuring safeguarding is central.

Administration, Monitoring & Oversight

• Track and evaluate the effectiveness of WSC’s communications strategies, media coverage, and narrative change activities.

• Maintain up-to-date communications databases, including segmenting contacts on Mailchimp and other contact/CRM systems.

• Monitor, evaluate and report on communications and campaign performance, contributing to the evaluation of key moments against WSC's influencing aims.

• Ensure all communications and campaign activity complies with legal, regulatory, safeguarding, data protection (GDPR) and charity requirements.

• Manage freelancers, agencies or consultants (for example design or digital support) as directed by the Executive Director.

STOP THE TRAFFIK is a global organisation working to prevent human trafficking and exploitation. We bring together data, intelligence, technology and partnerships to build a deeper understanding of how exploitation operates, where risks are emerging and who is most at risk. This knowledge informs our prevention campaigns and programmes, which use targeted, evidence-led approaches to reach people with relevant information and support before exploitation occurs.

Safer Futures is one of the major pieces of work within STOP THE TRAFFIK’s prevention programme, focused on preventing child exploitation. It brings together a number of connected areas of prevention activity, including regional campaigns, national awareness activity and a youth-centred reporting channel.

Like our wider prevention projects, the work is informed by data, intelligence and evidence about the risks facing communities and the audiences we are seeking to reach. In this context, the It combines targeted communications, partnerships, technology, safeguarding and learning to develop and deliver practical prevention activity.

The work will involve collaboration across STOP THE TRAFFIK, our wider UK network and external partners, with learning and intelligence generated through delivery helping to strengthen the programme over time.

Leadership and Project Delivery

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of Safer Futures, ensuring activity remains on track, aligned to outcomes and responsive to learning throughout delivery.

People and Team Leadership

• Line manage the Fundraising Manager, providing regular supervision, support, and performance development

• Lead the planning and delivery of all-hands meetings and team development programmes, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture

Impact and Evaluation

Income Generation

• Support the Fundraising Manager with grant applications, funder relationships, and income generation activity as needed

Operations

There are some areas of responsibility that sit under the other Co-CEO, but we would expect the person in this role to maintain some oversight or involvement in to enable smooth co-working between the roles. These are:

• Safeguarding: Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) when required, ensuring Routes meets its safeguarding obligations and that staff and volunteers are appropriately supported

• Finance: Attend and contribute to monthly finance meetings, planned by other Co-CEO, maintaining a clear understanding of the organisation's financial position and flagging any concerns to the Co-CEO and board

Person Specification

Experience

• Experience in a senior leadership role within the charity, social enterprise, or public sector

• Demonstrable experience of managing and developing staff, with a coaching and supportive leadership style

• Experience of income generation in a charity or social enterprise context, including either grant fundraising, corporate partnerships, or programme sales

• Experience of designing or overseeing monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks and producing reports that communicate impact clearly

• Experience of managing operational and governance responsibilities, including policy development and working with a board

• Experience leading teams in challenging, fast-changing and resource-constrained environments 

• Experience of working with or for communities facing marginalisation, discrimination, or structural disadvantage, and a deep understanding of the barriers refugee and asylum seeking women face in the UK

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community supporting unaccompanied minors who have experienced human rights abuses and are seeking asylum, refugee status and settlement in the United Kingdom.

The role of a Therapeutic Community Caseworker at the Baobab Centre is to support unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee adolescents and young adults to access care, basic rights and entitlements and to support their social development and rehabilitation.This role involves working closely with the clinical key worker of each young person and with our wider multidisciplinary team. As a Caseworker you will aim to empower individuals to build stable, independent lives in the UK, including by supporting them to communicate their views, needs and experiences in decision-making processes, and supporting them to make challenges when necessary. Caseworkers assist young people to make effective choices about what happens in their lives and encourage them to speak up and build agency.

Baobab aims to be a non-residential therapeutic community with a holistic and integrated perspective.As a Caseworker, you will play a key role within our multidisciplinary team. We aim to be a thinking organisation and place a high value on shared thinking time and shared responsibilities. Our team work together with each other and with agencies and key individuals in young people’s lives, both within and outside of Baobab. Part of a team of Outreach and Project Workers pivotal to the delivery of an exciting new project focused on reaching women identified as at risk of homelessness and exploitation. The Luna Project supports women at risk of rough sleeping, homelessness and exploitation. Working across key areas of Enfield and Haringey you will, through a combination of nighttime outreach and daytime service provision, be critical to supporting a coordinated response across multiple agencies already engaged in this work.

You will undertake at least twice weekly nighttime outreach, support additional services and existing outreach provision and develop a daytime offer that meets the needs of women engaged through outreach and identified as at high risk of harm and homelessness.   

You will have responsibility for a caseload of women identified through outreach, referral and presentation at ours and other services. You will provide advocacy, casework support and connection and referral into other agencies which can help them address their needs.

About WSUP

Woolwich Service Users Project is a charity based in central Woolwich, supporting people experiencing homelessness, poverty, poor mental health, addiction, social isolation and multiple disadvantage. WSUP provides a welcoming, non-judgemental, open-access community space where guests can access practical support, health and wellbeing services, specialist advice, and trusted relationships.

Our work is rooted in lived experience, dignity and relational support. We meet people where they are, offering both immediate relief and pathways into longer-term stability, recovery and community connection. WSUP works closely with local and national partners across health, housing, recovery, advice and community wellbeing to reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes for people who often face barriers to mainstream services.

Purpose of the Role

The Health Coordinator will lead and develop WSUP’s health coordination offer, ensuring that guests can access timely, appropriate and compassionate support around physical health, mental health, addiction, sexual health, primary care, housing-related health needs and wider wellbeing.

The postholder will provide structured triage, one-to-one support, casework, referrals and follow-up for guests experiencing complex needs. A key part of the role will be helping people who are not currently engaged with statutory or mainstream services to reconnect with healthcare, housing, welfare and specialist support.

The Health Coordinator will also play a key role in developing and overseeing WSUP’s women’s service provision, including Women’s Wednesday. This will include coordinating health and wellbeing support, strengthening referral pathways for women, supporting peer-led activity, promoting safety and inclusion, and ensuring the service responds to the needs of women experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, poor mental health, addiction, temporary accommodation, poverty, social isolation or resettlement barriers.

The postholder will also support female residents linked to women’s accommodation and community-based support pathways in Greenwich, helping them access WSUP’s trusted community hub, women-only provision, health coordination, practical support, peer connection and specialist referrals at a pace that feels safe and appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

1. Health Coordination and Casework

· Provide a welcoming, trauma-informed and non-judgemental first point of contact for guests seeking health and wellbeing support.

· Carry out structured triage conversations to identify health, housing, safety, safeguarding, mental health, addiction, income, resettlement and practical support needs.

· Support guests to register with GPs, attend appointments, understand health information and navigate primary care services.

· Coordinate access to health interventions delivered through WSUP and partner agencies, including Hepatitis C testing, TB screening, dental support, eye care, sexual health services, mental health outreach and addiction recovery pathways.

· Support guests to access sexual health testing and referrals, mental health referrals, substance misuse support, welfare advice navigation and warm referrals into appropriate specialist services.

· Make appropriate referrals to statutory, voluntary and specialist services, including housing, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, welfare advice, safeguarding and emergency support.

· Maintain regular follow-up with guests who may miss appointments, disengage or require repeated encouragement to access support.

· Maintain accurate, confidential and GDPR-compliant records using WSUP’s case management systems.

2. Development of Women’s Service Provision

· Lead the development and day-to-day oversight of WSUP’s women’s service provision, including Women’s Wednesday.

· Ensure Women’s Wednesday provides a safe, welcoming, women-only, low-barrier community support space offering peer support, health coordination, wellbeing activities, welfare advice and community connection.

· Work with women using WSUP services to co-produce activities and shape the ongoing development of the women’s programme.

· Identify and respond to the specific needs of women experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, unsafe housing, temporary accommodation, poor mental health, substance misuse, poverty, trauma, isolation or resettlement barriers.

· Develop clear pathways into specialist support for women, including domestic abuse services, sexual health services, mental health support, substance misuse services, housing advice, welfare advice, safeguarding provision and emergency support.

· Provide a trusted community hub for women who may not yet feel ready to engage with formal casework or statutory services.

· Help women reduce isolation, build confidence, sustain community connections and gradually move towards more formal support where appropriate.

· Monitor attendance, outcomes, feedback and emerging needs within the women’s service and report learning to WSUP’s leadership team.

· Promote a psychologically safer environment for women who may have experienced trauma, stigma, exploitation, violence, exclusion or previous negative experiences of services.

3. Partnership Working

· Build and maintain effective working relationships with local health, housing, recovery, advice, mental health, domestic abuse, women’s services and community partners.

· Act as a key link between WSUP guests and external services, helping partners deliver support in a trusted community setting.

· Support partner clinics, drop-ins and outreach sessions hosted at WSUP.

· Coordinate warm referrals into specialist services and follow up with guests and partners where appropriate.

· Attend relevant meetings, case discussions and multi-agency forums where appropriate.

· Represent WSUP professionally and promote the organisation’s relational, dignity-led and trauma-informed approach.

· Identify gaps in provision and work with WSUP leadership to develop new partnerships that respond to guest needs, including the needs of women accessing WSUP’s women-only provision.

4. Peer Support and Co-production

· Work alongside volunteers with lived experience to provide safe, relational and purposeful support.

· Help ensure peer volunteers understand safeguarding, boundaries, confidentiality, lone-working and referral procedures.

· Contribute to volunteer briefings, debriefs and reflective practice where relevant.

· Support quarterly co-production sessions with women using WSUP’s provision, enabling them to shape activities, share feedback and identify gaps in support.

· Ensure feedback from guests and women using the service informs programme development, partnership working and service improvement.

· Promote lived experience as a valued part of WSUP’s approach while ensuring appropriate support, supervision and boundaries are in place.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

· Record triage, referrals, casework activity, attendance, outcomes and follow-up actions accurately.

· Monitor attendance, health and welfare triage, referrals, partner services accessed, peer-support activity, safeguarding concerns, guest feedback and outcomes.

· Collect feedback from guests, including women using Women’s Wednesday, to inform service development.

· Contribute to internal reporting, case studies, impact evidence and partnership updates.

· Use data and lived experience feedback to identify trends, unmet needs and service improvement opportunities.

· Support WSUP’s Community Pulse approach by ensuring guest voice and co-production are embedded in health and women’s service development.

Person Specification

Essential Experience

· Experience of working with people facing homelessness, rough sleeping, poverty, mental health challenges, addiction, trauma, domestic abuse, migration issues, social exclusion or multiple disadvantage.

· Experience of providing one-to-one support, triage, casework, advocacy, signposting or referral support.

· Experience of working with health, housing, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, welfare or community support services.

· Experience of managing risk, safeguarding concerns and sensitive personal information.

· Experience of working in a person-centred, strengths-based and non-judgemental way.

· Experience of supporting or developing services for women, particularly women affected by trauma, homelessness, domestic abuse, poor mental health or complex needs.

· Experience of working with volunteers, peer supporters or people with lived experience is desirable but not essential.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

· Good understanding of health inequalities and the barriers faced by people experiencing homelessness or multiple disadvantage.
