We have a rare opportunity for an exceptional project manager to join us and work with an experienced team on the delivery of a £2m+ project supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund to improve access, through opportunity and conservation, to the glorious landscape of the River Eden, East Cumbria.
We seek an experienced, delivery-focused individual who can manage staff teams, external partners, finances and project schedules, and communicate effectively with a range of audiences – including at senior organisational level.
The successful candidate will also be passionate about engaging a wider range of people in the natural environment and be a clear and effective written and verbal communicator. Understanding the multi-faceted water environment and challenges to accessing it will be an advantage but the wider Access to Eden partnership team, who have closely collaborated to make this complex project a reality, will be on hand to assist.

- the overall management of the delivery phase of the multi-million-pound project.
- working with the team to create long-lasting positive impact for the natural environment through building strong community engagement across the project area with target audiences who experience a lack of opportunity to access the Eden, and

Access to Eden:breaking barriers, building bridges aims to break down the physical, social and cultural barriers that prevent people from accessing the natural heritage of Eden and build the bridges needed to give them the confidence to enjoy our blue and green spaces. We intend to remove barriers for Eden’s special wildlife, connect habitats and promote nature recovery.
With 13 organisations signed up as part of our partnership, together we will break barriers and build bridges for people AND nature in the Eden Valley, Cumbria.
The clue is in the title. It’s all about making Eden’s rivers and nature more accessible to those who experience the greatest barriers. From opening up doorstep green spaces, promoting walking, cycling, swimming, paddle sports, practical conservation, wildlife surveys, quiet enjoyment … and even virtual enjoyment of the river environment.

Main Responsibilities
- As a children’s Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a residential childcare team providing support for individuals with their physical, emotional, and social needs with an emphasis on promoting independence.

Our specialist teams within these homes have an outstanding track record in achieving longstanding positive outcomes for these young people.
About you & Qualifications
- Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience in a similar background, but it’s not essential as full training will be provided.
- Following a successful 6-month probation period, you will undertake a QCF level 3 or 4 qualification with support from an assessor and supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be expected to liaise with other staff, parents/carers, and professionals.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.
- You’ll be writing reports, so a good standard of written English and IT skills would be essential.

Overview
The National Paralympic Heritage Trust (NPHT) has embarked on a new exciting five-year strategy – ‘Becoming Seamlessly Inclusive 2023-2028’. To help us on this journey, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Trust’s ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’, a key role within our organisation. We are looking for someone who would enjoy supporting our volunteers and trainees and who can demonstrate good administration skills.
The NPHT is a young dynamic and diverse organisation and a leader in accessible heritage. Background
The NPHT was formed in 2015 with the core purpose to ‘enlighten and inspire future generations by celebrating, cherishing and bringing the Paralympic heritage and its stories of human endeavour to life’ and in doing so, to challenge negative perceptions of disability. Our purpose is to celebrate, cherish and bring the heritage to life, in a compelling and evocative way, securing a legacy, feeding a growing public interest since London 2012, changing attitudes, and instilling national pride.
In our role as caretakers of one of the World’s most important disability history collections, the Paralympic movement, we aim to become, and help others become seamlessly inclusive. From 2023 to 2028 for every £2 we spend, we aim to positively broaden somebody’s understanding of disability and transcend heritage access.
In our first 5 years 2017 to 2022 we have reached over half a million people across the UK, and overseas (over 50% of our website visitors are from abroad representing 195 different nations), establishing an accredited museum and collection of international importance. Our learning programmes and digital engagement are recognised as providing ground-breaking access to D/deaf and disabled audiences.
Our purpose and moral responsibility is to continue to bring this unique British heritage to life, building awareness of Paralympic history, sport and the individuals involved in its development.
We seek to do this in a compelling and evocative way that pushes the boundaries of access for all, changing attitudes, serving national inclusion agendas, and instilling national pride.

Role of the Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer:
1. Overall
1.1 To support and develop the volunteer and work placement programmes.
1.2 To practically support two of our trainees with neurodiversity.
2. Key Responsibilities
2.1 To oversee the volunteer programme with support from the Head of Programmes.
2.2 To manage the ‘access to work’ programmes.
2.3 To act as a work coach to the trainees, helping them deliver their work plans.
2.4 To support the ‘Learning Manager and Collections Engagement Officer’ with the provision of volunteers for their programmes of work.
2.5 To support the work placement’s programme and individuals completing them, by planning out the work in liaison across the team and helping the ‘Head of Programmes’ carry out the work.
2.6 To support the Trust’s community liaison.
2.7 To support other programmes of work as directed.
3. Meetings and reporting
3.1 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’will be employed by the National Paralympic Heritage Trust and be responsible to the Board of Trustees.
3.2 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’ will report to, be managed and supported by the ‘Head of Programmes’.
3.3 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer will have monthly meetings with the ‘Head of Programmes reporting on progress and raising any areas of concern.
4. Period of Contract
4.1 May 2024 to the end of April 2026.
5. Contract fee/Pay
5.1 The proposed fee is £25,000 a year pro-rata - three days a week (24 hours).
5.2 In addition to the payment outlined above the ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’ will be paid reasonable agreed expenses incurred subject to the supply of receipts/travel expense claim. The post holder will also be eligible for a stakeholder pension.

About the Safeguarding Officer role:

An opportunity has arisen to join the central Wildlife Trade team to ensure that good practice and innovation in wildlife trade approaches are effectively integrated and implemented into projects. This is a role based in our UK Headquarters providing technical input and support to our regional programmes, with an initial focus on supporting our projects in the Caribbean and Nicaragua. These projects involve working with local partners to implement interventions based on crime prevention and behaviour change techniques and to build law enforcement capacity.

The successful candidate will be able to balance varied tasks and provide support to colleagues in the Council of Deans of Health team.
Main responsibilities:
- Support the development of Council policy with a particular focus on equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Monitor, analyse and evaluate policy developments, producing briefings, position papers and consultation responses.
- Liaise with members on both a formal and informal basis to develop and test policy priorities and positions.
- Represent the Council of Deans of Health to external stakeholders, building effective working relationships with a range of organisations.
- Contribute to the effective external communication of the Council’s policy work, including working with the Council’s communications lead to draft press releases and political positions.
- Help facilitate the meetings of nation, regional and strategic policy groups online and offline including travel across the UK.
- Contribute to other areas of the Council’s work as appropriate including project coordination and cross-team working.
- Undertake any other such duties or general tasks and hours of work as may reasonably be required.
The Council has an office in Woburn House, central London although all staff are currently working in a mixed home/office working model. The postholder should therefore be able to attend the office as required. The salary for this post is £30,305 – £36,575 depending on experience. The Council offers a 10% pension contribution, flexible approaches to working, travelling opportunities and continued development.

We are seeking to appoint a Mental Health Advice Worker for our busy and established service in Brighton and Hove. The role plays an essential part of our response to those people contacting us with their mental health enquiries and concerns.
You will responsible for offering a range of face to face and telephone mental health advice and information to people living in the city, including carers and family members who have contacted us with a mental health concern. The service also delivers awareness raising wellbeing workshops and community outreach as part of its delivery.
The role involves supporting people to identify strategies for looking after their own mental health wellbeing along with providing self-help information and resources.
You will require excellent communication skills, a track record of undertaking advice work and experience of successfully engaging and working with people with lived mental health experience. A commitment and understanding of the recovery model is essential.

For a leading global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Financial Controller for a fixed term of 12-months. Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller and working closely with the CEO, this role will lead the financial management and internal controls for the Regional and Country offices and shared service processes and transactions. The Projects Financial Controller will implement robust management reporting, and cash-flow forecasts, and will work with stakeholders to monitor budgets and forecasts. - Monitoring and improving financial control processes
