CFG promotes remote-first working, although we do have office space at our registered address in Southwark, SE London for those team members who prefer an office setting. About the Team

You will be part of the Help for Heroes Community Fundraising Team, who work together to build support in the community to secure donations and build long time partnerships with community organisations / supporters and volunteers to deliver the annual community fundraising budget year on year. You will report to the National Senior Fundraising Manager and work collaboratively across the charity to drive income to support our veterans and their families.

Gaddum is looking for a qualified PWP to join our well-established Talking Therapies team operating in Manchester and expand our offer for clients. You will work alongside a team of dedicated counsellors within a stepped care model to provide initial assessments and a range of NICE approved low intensity interventions for common mental health problems, including one-to-one work and the potential for groupwork.

You will be skilled in delivering low intensity therapy, with the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload, and will have successfully completed an approved IAPT PWP Post Graduate Certificate (or be near to qualification with all elements of the course successfully passed/on track to qualify on time).

The Role

Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach in the East of England, you will have the ability to support stroke survivors to identify their goals. Using strong assessment skills and a person-centred approach enabling them to maximise their recovery and improve communication.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers to adjust to life after stroke following hospital discharge into the community.

The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. The primary objectives are to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to our beneficiaries; to develop our regional peer support model; and to facilitate a positive volunteering experience for our lived experience volunteer team. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day coordination of peer support activity. This will involve sensitive communication with trauma-affected individuals to understand their needs and preferences, using this information to facilitate suitable peer support matches.

The postholder will contribute to building a diverse volunteer team by supporting the volunteer recruitment and induction processes. They will offer ongoing support, guidance and motivation to our volunteers, ensuring meaningful opportunities to engage with Day One. The postholder will support the Peer Support Manger to conduct regular reviews with volunteers to gather feedback on their experiences as well as supporting their personal and professional development.

The Peer Support Co-ordinator will monitor service delivery and volunteer activity to ensure it is operating within agreed policies and processes. To ensure we can evidence the success and quality of the service, a key aspect of the role will involve keeping accurate records of interventions as well as collecting regular evaluation/impact data and personal case studies.

Day One is a young, ambitious national charity dedicated to supporting people impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences such as disability or death, referred to in the NHS as ‘major trauma’.  Our Caseworkers work alongside NHS Clinicians, embedded as part of the team within Major Trauma Centres and across the wider Major Trauma Network to provide practical, emotional and financial support to adults and children as well as their families and loved ones.  Inspired ‘by patients for patients’ our vision is that no one has to piece life back together on their own after catastrophic injury. 

Caseworker

Forces Employment Charity is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Caseworker to join our team working on the CFO (Co-financing Organisation) programme in partnership with the probation service. In this role, you will provide specialist support to veterans within the criminal justice system, focused on early intervention, support and diversion to prevent re-offending. You will work closely with probation staff, partner organisations and lead providers to identify, engage and deliver emotional and practical support to veteran clients.

This is a Full-time 35 hours per week, home based role with regular attendance at Lewisham and Croydon Activity Hubs and frequent travel throughout the UK. This role has a salary £29,000 pa.

This will be a fixed term contract till 31 July 2024.

For the CFO programme, Forces Employment Charity is working in partnership with probation service staff and other partner organisations to provide specialist support for veterans in the justice system.This support is focused on early intervention, support and diversion at point of contact with justice system in order to prevent re-offending.

The successful applicant will be providing activities and support to clients within a formal contractual framework working to challenging targets.The role holder will need a strong beneficiary focus and the ability to rapidly form relationships with partners and local agencies.

Who we are

The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.

Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.

Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.

Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

We are looking for people to join our team across England and Wales in Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, Luton, Milton Keynes, London.

We are recruiting Youth Workers across our delivery locations in England and Wales to join our squad in August for the new academic year. This is a frontline role where you will spend the majority of your time working with young people, building relationships with them and delivering our full programme of activities which includes rugby based activity sessions, employability workshops, career taster days and more.

You will be working with some of the hardest to reach young people who are most at risk of exclusion, in small groups of 8-10. We use rugby as a hook and mentorship as an anchor, using our four cornerstones (developing life skills, raising aspirations, improving physical wellbeing, focus on mental wellbeing) to develop young people throughout their time with us. We enable young people to be in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school. 

The delivery team always work in pairs, running our interventions across a variety of settings (including mainstream schools, Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provisions, SEN schools, Youth Offenders Institutes, community centres and rugby clubs) working in the school timetable and between 3-7pm. While delivering our interventions is a big part of the job, you will also be responsible for supporting the team to ensure the successful collection of data, managing school relationships and delivering on partnership projects.

You do not need to be a rugby fanatic for this role, but you do need to be passionate about social mobility of the excluded. We are looking for someone with a youth work, teaching, mentoring or sports coaching background to help strengthen our team as we work towards our forward strategy.

Research shows that group-based early intervention parenting groups are the most effective way to support children in need. We train peer facilitators in local churches - the largest voluntary body in the country - to run our affordable, accessible and highly effective parenting programmes, written by Clinical Psychologists. The Anabaptist Mennonite Network seeks to equip the Church to live distinctively in a post-Christendom world. In this role you will be providing the administrative support to enable our innovative projects to share and demonstrate Jesus’ challenge of peace as outlined in our Core Convictions.

Our current administrator is progressing to a new role managing relationships with our volunteers and with partner schools, and we are rercuiting to fill her role.

Background - Number Champions

We set up Number Champions in 2018 to transform the lives of children in state primary schools who struggle with numeracy or lack confidence in maths.  We employed our first staff member, our Head of Operations (HoO), in 2022 and our second, an administrator, in 2023.. 

We are the only charity systematically working in-person with young children in our field.  Early support will put children on track to achieve their full life potential in a world where some fluency with maths is an essential building block. Success in this one area can increase their self-esteem and their involvement in education as a whole. 

Now in our sixth year, we are working across 14 London boroughs in 32 partner schools, with over 110 In-School Volunteers supporting more than 300 children. We plan to increase these numbers each year. Our medium-term vision is to expand across London, while maintaining the highly positive impact we have achieved to date. 

We are proud to have received two national awards last year recognising the work of our volunteers, and we are currently shortlisted for a 2024 award.

Everyone at Number Champions is passionate about improving children’s educational and life chances. 

The Administrator role 

Our HoO has taken the lead in developing the charity and in giving us the capacity to expand further while maintaining quality of delivery. The administrator reports to the HoO and manages the bulk of the administration processes of the charity.  

The role is for an equivalent of 2 days a week, during school term-time only. It will be almost all remote, although you will be expected to attend occasional meetings in Central London (or possibly North London if that is more convenient for you). 

We intend the role to be permanent, but we are offering an 11-month contract September to July pending confirmation of funding. 

Impact on the organisation 

You will take on key responsibilities for administration and for contact with different groups of stakeholders. In a small professional team, you will have the opportunity to suggest ideas and to influence the development of the charity.

Core responsibilities 

• Manage the administration processes of onboarding volunteers and schools
• Gather, capture, and maintain the charity’s data in our management system
• Communicate with volunteers and with office and finance staff at partner schools
• Raise invoices
• Manage basic bookkeeping
• Assist in purchasing
• Provide occasional cover for other staff, as required
• Other activities as required from time to time to support the HoO, SRM, and charity.

Required skills and experience 

• Administrative or professional background
• Attentiveness to accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (and knowledge of Google Suite would be advantageous)
•  Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships remotely with staff, volunteers, and schools
• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise
• Commitment to the mission of the charity to help young children with maths.

Basic bookkeeping experience is desirable but not essential.

Benefits 

25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, prorated for a 2-day-a-week role. 

(Although the role is for only 39 weeks a year we will pay you for  33 days annual holiday reduced only by 2/5 for working 2 days a week.  This increases your take home pay by about 4% compared to also reducing holidays by 39/52 for weeks worked.)

Employer’s contribution to pension of 3%.

• Lead on the planning and implementation of legacy and in mem fundraising portfolio, managing marketing campaigns from initial brief through to post campaign analysis. 
• Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with in mem supporters and legacy prospects in local communities, with the support of community fundraising managers and local volunteers – keeping these supporters at the heart of your work to to maintain and increase their support through excellent stewardship. 
• Prepare and administer correspondence and relevant paperwork and ensure maintenance for full and accurate database (D365/First Class) records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve engagement and customer service performance.
• Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends. 
• Effectively plan and execute legacy events around the country, with the aim of motivating supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will.

The role

As Community Engagement Officer you will play a key role in ensuring the Foundation achieves its objectives of engaging with and increasing physical activity levels amongst the four key priority groups facing the greatest inequalities: low socio-economic groups, women and girls, disabled people and people with long term health conditions, and culturally diverse communities. This will predominantly be achieved through the critical support you will provide to our ambitious PlayZones Programme, as we continue to roll the programme out across priority areas of the Country.

We have an ambition to deliver in excess of 200 PlayZone facilities by 2025. To realise this ambition, we’re going to focus on investing in safe, inclusive, and accessible facilities in communities with the greatest need. We will tackle inequalities in physical activity levels and create inclusive opportunities for our priority groups to become active through recreational formats of football and other sports and activities.

With a great deal to do, the role will be pivotal in working with local groups to support them through the application process, and to ensure high quality projects are being developed based on local community need.

The role sits within the Football Foundation’s Delivery Team, the team responsible for strategic identification and capital project delivery, reporting to the Community Engagement Lead and with responsibility for a portfolio of PlayZone programme areas within one of the Delivery Team geographical regions.

You will provide critical support to applicants and work extremely closely with our network of Delivery Managers & Officers to advise and agree community engagement plans for a range of Over £25k projects – helping to ensure their engagement is robust, but that applicants also receive support and guidance as required throughout the development of their application.

Community Engagement Officers will champion the benefits of great engagement, capturing good practice, identifying successful approaches, and share knowledge and learning across the Foundation and other stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to follow football to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

You must be educated to HND/Degree standard, or with the equivalent experience, with knowledge of how sports development can be used for community benefit. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating with and supporting a diverse range of colleagues and customers remotely.

Your knowledge of place-based working and how to best reach and engage with local communities will be key for this role, as well as your understanding of the inequalities that exist in supporting active lives across socio economic groups, women & girls, individuals with a disability or a long-term health condition, and culturally diverse communities. You will be aware of and have experience of dealing with the operations and challenges faced by community organisations, charities, and the voluntary sector.

You must be highly organised, with working knowledge of different project management techniques and experience of managing multiple projects at the same time. While not essential, experience of producing robust reports and of using dashboards to monitor the progress of projects would be useful.
