As CFG's Policy Officer you will make an impactful contribution to CFG's policy and advocacy work. Working with a wide range of stakeholders, including policy-makers, charity members and corporate partners, you will contribute to the smooth running of the Policy Team's work and effectiveness. You will be comfortable using your research and analytical skills to ensure CFG remains at the forefront of its advocacy work on behalf of its members and the wider sector. You will have a passion for getting to grips with complex policy issues and bringing people together to engage with them. As a member of the Policy and Communications Directorate, you'll work alongside the Communications Team and other colleagues to ensure our policy work is shared with a range of external audiences. We have an exciting new opportunity available for an experienced and talented bid and tender professional to join us as our Bid and Tender Manager. Your primary aim will be to successfully retain and grow our contracted income to deliver our dementia support services.
You will lead and support a national team, responsible for developing and delivering the Society’s bid and tenders. You’ll be a talented individual with a strong desire to lead this team in creating high quality bids to secure contracts for Alzheimer's Society.
You will have prior bid experience – preparing, writing, managing, and winning multiple bids annually. You’ll be experienced in building and coordinating multiple internal relationships and be able to demonstrate an ability develop external partnerships. You will inspire people from a range of teams to work towards one shared goal.
Additionally, you will take the lead as the Society’s bid expert, providing guidance and making time-pressured decisions with key stakeholder to ensure the effective and compliant preparation of tenders.

Supporter Engagement is one of the most important teams that is central to the success of Alzheimer’s Society. The function of the team is to manage multi-channel communications with our supporters, both inbound and outbound. The team manage emails, telephone calls and social media interactions and is part of the wider Supporter Experience Department.
The team has a very bespoke tone of voice when managing the high volume of interactions but has the autonomy to manage their own workday within guidelines. In this role you will be the first point of contact delivering an excellent supporter experience to members of the public and Alzheimer’s Society’s supporters. We are looking for a new full time, 17-month fixed term Funding Officer to join the passionate, vibrant and friendly team in the North West Region to be part of ensuring our funding supports a wide variety of communities and places locally. The role will cover Greater Manchester, with occasional work in other parts of the North West.
The team is based remotely across the North West of England and this role is to support delivery in Greater Manchester. Ideally the successful candidate will live in Greater Manchester and will be part of the local team, led by a Funding Manager, and comprised of several other Funding Officers.
As a member of the funding team you will assess applications for funding and manage grants from our Reaching Communities and Partnerships programmes. You will use your local knowledge and experience, and the experience of our grant holders and local stakeholders, to ensure we are making the best decisions on the grants we make. By working closely with people and communities from a defined geographical area, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
You will gain an understanding of our vision, our commitment to equity and inclusion and our funding programmes. You will be responsible for your own caseload; liaise with grant recipients, visit projects, identify and manage risks, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact. You will need to understand and respond to the different needs of our applicants and grant holders by providing advice and feedback and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations. You’ll also need to work within the Fund’s policies and procedures and the necessary legislation, and in a way that is in line with our vision and principles.
Part of your role will be to represent the Fund within your local area including at funding fairs and external meetings and create opportunities for people to come together. Sharing learning from your conversations, events, grant holder reports and evaluations you will support the Fund in maximising our impact as a grant maker.

• Knowledge of the local areas you would be covering and their charity sectors. Experience working with under-represented communities in the area is particularly desirable.
•Understanding of financial planning and business plans, ability to analyse accounts and numerical data.
•Demonstrable IT skills and the ability to learn detailed processes quickly and accurately.

A new opportunity for a Funding Officer working with The Phoenix Way Partners (TPW). This is a national collaborative partnership created during the Covid-19 pandemic as a response to the structural inequalities which Black and Ethnic Minority communities and community-led organisations face in relation to influencing and accessing grant funding in the UK.
This Funding Officer position is looking after the North East and Cumbria region within a wider team of eight people across England, and reporting into a Funding Manager.
In your role you will:
- Assess requests for funding and manage grants using best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making.
- Share learning from your conversations, project visits, grant holder reports and evaluations with other colleagues so that we can maximise our impact.
- Ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
- Manage your own caseload, liaise with grant holders, partners, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact

Our business is growing, and we’re looking for a passionate and innovative team player to help us provide expert strategy support to clients across England. You’ll need to be a confident facilitator attuned to the needs of the sector, identifying emerging themes and areas of support.
The role focuses on the delivery of consultancy and training. It is responsible for meeting income targets, managing project budgets, and coordinating projects. This is done with oversight and support from senior and lead consultants.
You will:
- develop bids and work with clients independently – gaining input and agreement from other consultants on viability and the decision to bid
- pitch for work
- manage and coordinate projects from end to end, with support from senior and lead consultants
- communicate and influence effectively
- coordinate the work of existing associates and agree fees within an established framework.
You don’t need to have experience working as a consultant before. But we need you to be curious, analytical and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
