About the Role
Advice Giving
- Deliver advice and information to clients, ensuring advice provided meets the requirements of Citizens Advice quality standards
- Ensure all case recording and other record keeping is completed within agreed timescales and conforms to the Office Manual and the Advice Quality Standards
- Use sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and to identify the next course of action.
- Use a range of information sources to find relevant information then interpret and communicate this to clients.
- Refer internally or to other specialist agencies as appropriate.
- Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiation, drafting or writing letters/emails and telephoning.
Administration
- Use of IT software for statistical recording of information relating to research and campaigns and funding requirements, record keeping and document production. Ensure Data Protection compliant training is completed on an annual basis.
- Ensure that all work conforms to the service's systems and procedures.
- Undertake admin duties as required or requested.
- Complete a register of client outcomes, monitored by the lead Citizens Advice office of the project, and provide case studies (with client consent) demonstrating outcomes of the advice interventions to the funder.
Professional development
- Keep up to date with online systems, available training materials and other resources relevant to the areas of support.
- Complete the required training to comply with quality assurance processes
- Attend relevant internal and external meetings as agreed with the line manager
- Prepare for and attend supervision sessions/team meetings/staff meetings as appropriate
- Identify and implement own learning and development needs
Other duties and responsibilities
- Promote the aims, policies, and membership requirements of the Citizens Advice service.
- Ensure all processes and procedures that relate to the responsibilities of the role are delivered with a high level of awareness of the organisation’s equality and diversity ethos and policies.

- Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues.
- Adhere to RBS security vetting and health and safety guidelines, particularly within their building.

Requirements:
- Experience of delivering generalist advice within Citizens Advice or another quality assured environment such as AQS.
- Good IT knowledge with an ability to support delivery of advice
- Experience of using interpersonal skills, including sensitive listening and questioning skills to understand the needs of others, over the phone.
- Ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information and produce and present clear reports verbally and in writing.
- Ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively and a willingness to challenge constructively.

About us
Citizens Advice Liverpool (CAL) are being funded by Nat West Group to provide general advice by telephone for customers seeking this help. This general advice is confidential and independent of the Nat West (Banking) Group.
The post holder would be based at their RBS office for 4 days between the hours of 9am -5pm, providing telephone advice, and there would be 1 day based at a CAL office for writing up notes and any follow up work.
Where it is not possible for the SSO to work at the RBS office, the SSO would work at home or a CAL office, again providing telephone advice for these customers.
Job description
The Volunteer Coordinator roles are vital components of this project. We want to attract candidates from the East of England with sound local knowledge (who are able to travel around the area) both of which will be important parts of this job.
Purpose of the role:
- To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within one of the regional areas.
- Delivering training to volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups.
- Organising community events where information sessions are delivered by volunteers.
- Ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.
Hours of employment are:
East of England 0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
12 month fixed term contract. Core hours are 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.

Loneliness is a major issue that is now widely recognised in society today, particularly amongst older people. By scheduling weekly calls from our trained volunteers, Age UK's National Telephone Friendship Service provides older people with a chance to make a new friend from the comfort of their home.
As a Friendship Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting the thousands of matches between our members and volunteers across the UK. Whether you are answering emails and calls, ensuring safeguarding measures are upheld or supporting members and volunteers through the onboarding processes, you will be helping to ensure this much needed service reaches those who need it most, in a safe and efficient manner.
Utilising your excellent customer service skills, you will be the first port of call to support our volunteers and older members - so you'll need to be comfortable spending a lot of time on the phone and communicating by email. You'll also need to be passionate about supporting older people and have a good understanding of older people's needs.
This role can either be based at our office in Blackpool, or in Ashburton Devon. We offer a hybrid model of home and office based-working, so you will need to be within a reasonable distance of either the Blackpool or Ashburton office and be willing to travel there regularly. As a guide, the team currently work from the office once or twice a week but please be aware this could increase.
You will work a 35-hour working week, 5 days out of 7 with start and end times between 8am and 6pm. It will include weekend and bank holiday shifts, which will be arranged on a rota basis.

Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.
The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, currently 10am – 4pm).

About Myaware
Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people living with myasthenia.
Myasthenia means muscle weakness. The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions including myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome and congenital myasthenic syndrome.
· We work to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition.

About the role
The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic guidance and oversight, ensure operational efficiency and sustainability, and maintain the organisation's commitment to serving the myasthenia community.
Your responsibilities in the role will include:
· Advising and working with the Chair and Trustees on the strategic direction of the charity and implementing board decisions,

The role:
The Head of Programmes is a wide-ranging and key role within the Smallwood Trust’s leadership structure working closely with the CEO, the Grants Team and the Board.
Important priorities for the Head of Programmes will include:
Working closely with the CEO to implement and operationalise Smallwood’s refreshed grant-making strategy which is due to be approved by the end of 2024. This will include budgeting and implementing/designing new grant processes and procedures where appropriate.
Shape and deliver an evaluation framework that enables us to more effectively track progress against our longer-term outcomes as identified in our theory of change and gender-lens framework.
Instill a learning and continuous improvement culture across the organisation, to ensure that a coherent approach is taken with our grants programmes and our funding meets the needs of our Grant Partners.
The role requires an established leader who is adept at demonstrating internal and external leadership and is able to provide robust grant management, ensuring programme quality and assurance to the CEO, the Board and major external funders.
The role will have 7 direct reports. You will be comfortable in the detail and bigger picture and be able to provide support and encouragement to the Grants Team across Smallwood’s grant and programme cycles and to ensure that best practice and learning from our grant programmes is shared externally and adopted internally.

What's the role about

Rethink Nature is a partnership of seven leading species conservation organisations whose aim is ‘to combine their extensive knowledge and experience to catalyse the action that species need across the four nations of the UK’. We have received funding from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to set up a Species Recovery Partnership for NI to strengthen and build the Rethink partnership in NI, and work with government, other eNGOs and key stakeholders to better deliver key outcomes for species. You will work on behalf of the Partnership but be managed by the Head of Species at RSPB NI, and will be responsible for managing the Partnership Administrator. You will also work closely with Rethink Nature UK's Species Advocacy Lead. The role holder can be based anywhere in the UK but will be expected to travel to Northern Ireland (Belfast) approximately once every two months.
What's the role about?
We are looking for a highly organised and passionate individual with a good working knowledge of priority species in NI, the mechanisms needed to deliver for them, and the ability to bring stakeholders together. You will be responsible for managing the project to sure that that the following key outcomes are delivered within budget and on time.
- A set of Species Recovery Principles for NI
- A cross-taxa list of highest priority species for NI and concise species action plans (cSAPs) for these species
- A 3-day facilitated workshop to agree on the prioritised list and how the cSAPs and the bid will be developed.
- A NI Species bid, similar to those in GB (Species on the Edge, Back from the Brink, Natur Am Byth), to deliver the critical actions outlined in the cSAPs. This would form the basis of a bid to NLHF for development and delivery funding for a NI species bid.
- A document outlining the key policy and legislative changes needed to deliver for species in Northern Ireland and associated advocacy to ensure it gains attention and influences change.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Demonstrable experience of developing and working in partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
- Demonstrable leadership ability, able to lead without line management authority
- Organising meetings, facilitated workshops and events
- Excellent written, spoken communication and presentation skills for a wide variety of audiences
