About the Role

Advice Giving

• Deliver advice and information to clients, ensuring advice provided meets the requirements of Citizens Advice quality standards
• Ensure all case recording and other record keeping is completed within agreed timescales and conforms to the Office Manual and the Advice Quality Standards
• Use sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and to identify the next course of action.
• Use a range of information sources to find relevant information then interpret and communicate this to clients.
• Refer internally or to other specialist agencies as appropriate.
• Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiation, drafting or writing letters/emails and telephoning.

Administration

• Use of IT software for statistical recording of information relating to research and campaigns and funding requirements, record keeping and document production. Ensure Data Protection compliant training is completed on an annual basis.
• Ensure that all work conforms to the service's systems and procedures.
• Undertake admin duties as required or requested.
• Complete a register of client outcomes, monitored by the lead Citizens Advice office of the project, and provide case studies (with client consent) demonstrating outcomes of the advice interventions to the funder.

Professional development

• Keep up to date with online systems, available training materials and other resources relevant to the areas of support.
• Complete the required training to comply with quality assurance processes
• Attend relevant internal and external meetings as agreed with the line manager
• Prepare for and attend supervision sessions/team meetings/staff meetings as appropriate
• Identify and implement own learning and development needs

Other duties and responsibilities

• Promote the aims, policies, and membership requirements of the Citizens Advice service.
• Ensure all processes and procedures that relate to the responsibilities of the role are delivered with a high level of awareness of the organisation’s equality and diversity ethos and policies.
• Be a positive ambassador for CAL.
• Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues.
• Adhere to RBS security vetting and health and safety guidelines, particularly within their building.
• Attend RBS Team meetings to share knowledge and up skill Bank staff to inform them of themes, trends and emerging issues.
• Carry out any other tasks that may be within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service

Requirements:

• Experience of delivering generalist advice within Citizens Advice or another quality assured environment such as AQS.
• Good IT knowledge with an ability to support delivery of advice
• Experience of using interpersonal skills, including sensitive listening and questioning skills to understand the needs of others, over the phone.
• Ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information and produce and present clear reports verbally and in writing.
• Ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively and a willingness to challenge constructively.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work both on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Understanding of the issues affecting society and their implications for clients and service provision.

About us

Citizens Advice Liverpool (CAL) are being funded by Nat West Group to provide general advice by telephone for customers seeking this help. This general advice is confidential and independent of the Nat West (Banking) Group.

The post holder would be based at their RBS office for 4 days between the hours of 9am -5pm, providing telephone advice, and there would be 1 day based at a CAL office for writing up notes and any follow up work.

Where it is not possible for the SSO to work at the RBS office, the SSO would work at home or a CAL office, again providing telephone advice for these customers.

About the role 

You’ll build relationships to influence improvement in care and support NHS services across Wales. You’ll work alongside Parkinson’s Nurses, Consultants, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Service Managers to support the development of Parkinson’s services in a way that reflects the things that matter most to people with Parkinson’s. You’ll also work with NHS staff and Parkinson’s UK colleagues to monitor and respond to threats to Parkinson's services and effect positive change to address them. 

You’ll use your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with change projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s. 

 Finally, you’ll support a vibrant network of healthcare professionals across Wales via the Parkinson’s Excellence Network to share best practice, provide resources and education and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their families.

What you’ll do:

• Support health and care service redesign and improvement projects in collaboration with clinicians, Parkinson’s UK staff and people living with Parkinson’s, drawing on the principles of co-production.

• Support NHS professionals to develop and implement service improvement plans, using the results of the 2022 UK Parkinson’s Audit as a lever. 

• Promote the funding opportunities available via the Parkinson’s Excellence Network and provide support where appropriate to the development of business cases and grant applications from NHS teams across Wales.

• Respond to threats to services in collaboration with the Wales Team, the UK-wide Service Improvement and Grants Team, people affected by Parkinson’s and health and care professionals.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience and expertise in service redesign and effecting change within health and / or social care.

• Knowledge of NHS and social care structures in Wales.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and manage constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly Parkinson’s Nurses, Consultants, Allied Health Professionals and Service Managers.

• Ability to negotiate and influence with strong report writing and presentation skills.

• Experience in the use of quality improvement and project management tools.

There will be a two-stage recruitment process for this role:

• Stage one will take the form of a presentation-based task. Candidates will be asked to deliver a 10 minute presentation on a specific topic. Following the presentation, candidates will take part in a Q+A session with the panel. This will be held via Zoom.

A Partner in Education (APIE) is a small charity established in 2009 to support education development in Rwanda and make a positive difference to children’s futures. APIE has developed teacher training programmes in Early Childhood Education and Education for Positive Peace. The Digital Transformation Manager leads THET’s efforts to transform our own programmes of work and the way THET  operates, and also that of the Health Partnership community to better incorporate and enable best practice in digital solutions. The Digital Transformation Manager will work with teams across the organisation to consider how in every aspect of THET’s work we can transform our use of technology to achieve greater efficiencies and effectiveness, improve inclusivity and equity, and whilst reducing our carbon footprint. Digital Transformation is a key enabler for the organisation to help advance access to health services in low-and-middle-income countries, via activities such as building online communities, online learning for health workforces in complex and humanitarian settings, e-health, amongst others. This role will require engagement across the different departments of THET including programmes, and research, evidence and learning, and external engagement, as well as engaging with external stakeholders to drive and raise visibility of this agenda.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy

• Lead the review and delivery of THET’s digital transformation strategy. 

• Lead and implement THET’s digital enablers to support the organisation’s strategic plan.

Product management

• Develop and enhance the user experience of both external and internal stakeholders across key digital products including the THET website, Pulse platform, learning platforms and bespoke applications.

• Conduct user research and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a long-term strategy across our digital portfolio.

Stakeholder and project management

 • Provide guidance and capacity development to both THET staff and the Health Partnership community on digital implementations and best practice

• Ensure THET has accurate data and analytics to support operations and programmes across THET.

• Project manage key digital projects including scoping, testing, implementation, and review.

• Engage with external experts to promote and drive THET’s digital agenda across the global health sector.

• Lead and develop THET’s digital reporting mechanism to track the success of digital implementation across programmes.

External representation and publicization

• Representation at key THET and external events raising visibility of digital working within health partnerships and across the health partnership community.

Fundraising and digital transformation project design

• Lead fundraising for digital transformation at THET, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.

Operations

• Manage third party providers including vendors and Managed Service Providers, ensuring compliance with SLA’s.

• Working with the Chief Operating Officer, ensure THET has adequate and appropriate IT infrastructure and cybersecurity processes in support with IT MSP

• Support the implementation of GDPR practices across THET in line with regulation and best practice. 

Line Management

• Line manages the Digital Transformation Officer.

• Providing direct line management and strategic support to a sub-team within IFT, that will support continued income growth and contract management, in line with the Institutional Funding strategy.

This role is involved and multi-faceted with regular meetings across the organisation. This is a full-time role that may be worked from home for the majority of the time however some visits to our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH16 3BW) will be required. On average this is likely to be twice per year. If you prefer to work from or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London. Programme travel to West Africa and other locations will also be necessary - we anticipate approximately three trips per year, usually of one week each.
