The postholder will have experience in grant financial management and compliance, and in supporting grantee financial management and compliance. The postholder will have knowledge of Agresso/Navision accounting software and Microsoft Excel and experience in line management.
 
The postholder will also have strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure. The postholder will have strong analytical skills, and an understanding of risk and audit principles. The postholder will have excellent communication skills, able to engage and support both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
 
Desirably, you will have financial experience within an international humanitarian context or similar, including knowledge and experience of IATI reporting. In addition to this, knowledge of charity accounting and tax issues, including the Charities SORP.

Elrha are a remote first organisation and as such this role can be based from home, anywhere within the UK. There are also offices available for those who would like to spend time in the office. Purpose

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual ensuring that all of Ella’s premises,  including the office, community hub, and safe houses,  are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and a welcoming environment for staff and service users. This role combines practical facilities work with proactive oversight of supplier management and property maintenance systems.

You will play a key role in maintaining the smooth daily running of our operations, managing contractors and compliance records, and supporting Ella's growth and improvement in facilities management.

Facilities management

• Oversee the maintenance and smooth operation of Ella’s office, community hub, and supported accommodation.

• Manage supplier and contractor relationships, including procurement, tendering, and ongoing performance monitoring.

• Coordinate and oversee maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments across all properties, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

• Maintain clear records of repairs, inspections, and contracts in the central facilities log.

• Ensure the office and community hub are fully equipped, stocked, and operational, maintaining an organised and professional environment.

• Ensure accurate stock records are maintained and inventories are completed across all sites.

Property inspections and maintenance

• Conduct regular inspections of all Ella’s properties to identify and address maintenance and safety issues.

• Manage the safehouse repairs and maintenance log, ensuring timely responses and communication with caseworkers and residents.

• Carry out minor maintenance and repairs directly where appropriate (e.g. light bulbs, fixtures, storage organisation).

• Liaise with landlords and external providers on significant property issues, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
   

Health, safety, and compliance

• Act as the main point of contact for health and safety matters in the Operations Manager’s absence. 

• Ensure that all properties comply with statutory safety and maintenance requirements, including fire safety, gas, and electrical checks.

• Support in maintaining and updating compliance documentation, certificates, and maintenance schedules.

• Conduct regular health and safety audits and risk assessments, escalating issues to the Operations Manager as needed.

• Lead or support fire drills, first aid provision, and emergency preparedness planning.
   

Systems and administration

• Develop and maintain efficient systems for facilities management, including logs, checklists, and compliance trackers.

• Support the Operations Manager in reviewing policies and procedures related to facilities, health and safety, and risk management.

• Coordinate staff communications about ongoing facilities work or planned maintenance.

• Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and deliveries for office and property supplies.
   

Team and organisational support

• Contribute to creating a trauma-informed, safe, and welcoming environment across all Ella’s spaces.

• Support the smooth running of events or community activities at the hub, ensuring facilities are ready and accessible.

• Build strong working relationships with staff, residents, and suppliers to ensure responsive and effective facilities support.

Job Purpose

House to Home (H2H) is a newly developed programme, following the success of a similar project in Ireland. Through H2H, HFHGB aims to transform the homes of people in the community, giving them a say in creating a space that feels like home and setting them up for their future.

The H2H Supervisor will be responsible for the overall delivery and on-site safety of H2H projects, instructing and supporting volunteers to paint, decorate and carry out light-touch repairs within the homes. This is an important role, ensuring that volunteers feel empowered and supported, that projects are delivered to a high standard and that safety measures and procedures are followed at all times. The H2H Supervisor will work closely with the H2H Volunteer Manager and ReStore colleagues to plan projects and source items for the homes.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Supervision and Coordination

· Leading H2H projects with up to 5 volunteers, typically over a period of two days per home.

· Providing training and demonstrations, such as painting and decorating, to all volunteers.

· Liaising with clients about their homes and their preferred décor and furniture requirements.

· Organising and ensuring the correct materials are available to carry out projects as required, such as paint, tools and items from HFHGB’s ReStore.

· Ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times.

· Escalate safety or safeguarding concerns within a timely manner.

Admin and Reporting

· Liaise with the H2H Volunteer Manager, ensuring there are sufficient volunteers and supervision in place to carry out  H2H projects.

· Support the Director of Programmes and H2H Volunteer Manager to carry out relevant tracking and reporting duties, providing regular updates and inputs for the organisational Performance Framework.

Person profile:

· Demonstrable experience of supervising volunteer activities and workshops.

· Experience in decorating and home repairs.

· Good knowledge of risk management and health and safety policies and procedures.

· Experience of working with vulnerable individuals and an understanding of the importance of safeguarding and protecting beneficiaries.

· Physically able to move ladders, paint rooms and engage in light manual handling.

Skills and competencies

· Good verbal communication skills and the ability to engage volunteers, clearly explaining the value of their support on clients.
