Job description

 

Overview

To develop an intercultural missional discipleship programme for young adults in the UK. Implementing OMF UK’s strategic vision to see UK Christians increasingly envisioned, equipped and given opportunities to be involved in the making of disciples of all nations, across the street and across the world.

Main tasks and responsibilities

To work with the OMF intercultural and diaspora ministries space to develop and coordinate a 1 month summer missional discipleship programme in Manchester starting in July 2027.

To explore and liaise with individuals and ministries within and outside OMF who might contribute to the programme

To work with the Communications Department and Area Representatives to publicizeand mobilize for the programme

To develop an appropriate process for processing applications- To help with responding to enquiries and processing of applicants

To consider how beyond summer 2027 we might expand the programme to other locations in the UK and Ireland

To engage with the wider UK and Ireland Intercultural ministries for fellowship and collaboration

To take part in followship and prayer within the wider OMF community

To devote a half day a week to work with the Communications Department in producing media content

Person Specifications

- Exhibits godly character and is a Committed Christian

- Committed to the OMF UK vision, mission & values

- Committed member of a local church

- Cross cultural ministry experience

- Can communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

- Is self-motivated

- Is organised & strives for excellence

- Has the flexibility to cope with change

- Experience of communicating with people for whom English is not their first language

- Has a developed theological and missiological understanding of intercultural church and mission

-Able to work independently & collaboratively in a team

-Proven experience of meeting deadlines

- Friendly & courteous to colleagues & others

- Good understanding of the UK and Ireland Christian context and cross-cultural mission

- Evidence of IT competence including Microsoft 365 package (Teams, excel, word, email)

- Eligible to work in the UK.
