Operations Jobs
The MEAM coalition has worked for fifteen years across more than 50 local areas in England, supporting local partnerships to tackle the structural and systemic issues that cause and sustain multiple disadvantage. We run the national MEAM Approach network, supported Fulfilling Lives from 2014-2022 and hold the current support contract for the Government and The National Lottery Community Fund’s Changing Futures programme. Our position enables us to bring learning together from these programmes to understand what drives change and allows people to make improvements in their lives.
This new role will be responsible for leading the implementation of our new network membership structure, and ensuring members are supported to actively participate in the MEAM Approach network. As the Membership Manager, you will build relationships with our network members, oversee communications to the network, manage our online community platform, and identify ways in which we can further support network members through commercial opportunities. You will combine your deep knowledge of multiple disadvantage with a curious and collaborative approach to your work, demonstrating a genuine interest in developing and contributing to the growing knowledge and experience in systems thinking and systems leadership across the team. You will share your reflections and insights generously with the team and be open to positive challenge as you develop your practice.
Your approach to work will embrace and embody MEAM’s unique approach developed over the last fifteen years: highly collaborative; practical yet ambitious support; and focused on rebalancing power in systems through meaningful coproduction. You will be firmly committed to improving the lives of people facing multiple disadvantage and committed to helping us drive forward areas of our work where we have made some progress but more needs to be done, in particular around equitable access to effective support for women and racially minoritised groups and deepening our understanding of multiple disadvantage through an intersectional framework.
You will feel competent delivering work remotely and online, but will also be willing to travel nationally for face-to-face work. You will be comfortable working as part of a dispersed team, requiring you to be significantly self-driven in your work.
MEAM values and prioritises different perspectives and all lived experience and as such we encourage applications from all under-represented groups. Specifically, we are seeking to increase representation in our team of people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage and people from racially minoritised groups. We believe in equity over equality and encourage you to contact us if there are barriers to you applying for this position, this can include but is not limited to, childcare/carer responsibilities and access requirements.

Are you passionate about children’s safety and have the skills and experience to excel in this role and help reclaim the internet for young people? We would love to hear from you!
Children’s online safety is both an important and an urgent issue and the need for our unique work here at Breck Foundation is greater now than ever. The primary purpose of this role is to help children and young people take practical steps to become more digitally resilient and be safer online. Our freelance School Engagement Officers introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces across the country and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers, and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.

Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives. We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. Zero Carbon Guildford (ZCG) needs an enthusiastic, organised and capable person to help run our Charity operations and ensure we are performing against our strategic objectives.
We are a Surrey-based charity offering practical solutions which help residents and businesses cut waste and emissions, remove confusion and misinformation on how to make a difference, and provide local solutions to a global crisis.
Overview and Purpose of the role:
The ZCG Operations Coordinator will focus on two main areas:
-
Monitoring ZCG’s performance against strategy and create longevity for the charity
-
Ensuring the smooth and compliant running of our operations
Your role will involve translating the Charity’s strategy into implementable actions and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that will help us monitor our performance against our overarching strategy outcomes and benefits. Alongside this role we are advertising for a Project Development Coordinator, and you will work with them to convert the metrics and outcomes from individual projects into a measure of wider Charity impact and success.
A key part of the role will be monitoring the targets outlined in our successful funding bids, and ensuring that all reporting requirements are met. You will be responsible for creating and presenting regular reports on both strategic and funding targets to Operations and Trustee teams.
You will ensure the efficient day to day operation of the charity and our town centre premises, ZERO, ranging from management of stock levels through to implementing and monitoring safe working practices both within the ZERO premises and at external events. You will oversee volunteer supervision within the space; a shared task amongst all ZCG employees.
The role will include oversight of the ZCG events schedule, both via booking and management of events, as well as performance against event targets, whilst implementing the ZCG engagement strategy to ensure that messaging of events is tailored appropriately to the audience. However, we are eager to recruit the best possible combination of people to the team, and will consider different working arrangements (either fewer or more hours), and individuals with experiences across the two roles.
This role is funded by the National Lottery Communities Fund.
