The Chief Executive will be responsible for providing leadership, developing, and implementing Living Well Bromley’s strategic and operational plans, leading on partnership and business development, and being an effective advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries.

They will lead a senior management team of three (the Operations Manager, Funding and Communications Manager and Advocacy Manager).They will be responsible for ensuring financial control and supporting and advising on governance best practice across all aspects of the charity.

This post is a first-tier post directly reporting to the Board of Trustees. Ideally the post holder will have a Christian faith and be committed to core Christian values.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced operations manager to join our team. We are looking for someone who will help strengthen the foundations of our organisation, as well as help us expand our growing network of partner organisations across the UK. 

As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. Building on what has already been done, you will work directly with the CEO to help build the operational structure of Big Green Heart, and support its day-to-day operations. 

You will also facilitate the national deployment of Big Green Heart workshops across the UK, and will work with the CEO and trustees to implement the strategy needed to upscale the work of Big Green Heart.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will develop and implement operational policies, procedures and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

• You will manage the operational activity of our Big Green Heart experience days, supporting the CEO in the delivery of them. 

• You will work closely with our partner organisations who are using the Big Green Heart model, ensuring that the high standards and values of our teaching are maintained.

• You will also work with the Big Green Heart team to onboard new partner organisations. You will work with them to understand their needs and secure buy-in. 

• You will collaborate with the trustees, who also contribute to tasks linked with Big Green Heart's development. 

• You will manage the budgeting and financial planning processes, working closely with the Treasurer.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

• You will participate in professional and networking events related to Big Green Heart’s field of intervention.

• You will support staff members, trustees and volunteers, providing guidance and training in the operations of the charity as needed.

NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS

• At least two years experience in operations management, preferably within the charity sector. 

• A self motivated individual, capable of independent working.

• Ability to translate vision into a working practice. 

• Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Familiarity with budgeting and financial management processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

• Commitment to the mission and values of the Big Green Heart.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience of working in a start-up environment, supporting the operational needs of a fledgling organisation. 

• Familiarity with using KNACK database.

About the role

The CFOO will report to the Chief Executive and play a pivotal role for us, as we broaden and deepen our impact, transitioning from local to national scale. You will oversee and drive development of all financial and operational management, processes and reporting. As we continue to evolve, you will lead the integration of our most developed place of work, west London, with our new place of work, Wigan in the Greater Manchester area, followed by a third place in the near/medium-term.

You will be experienced at scaling organisations and have delivered new and/or successful improvements to existing systems and processes, with a track record of driving changes or improvements to business plans, policies and procedures.

The senior member of staff is responsible for ensuring the decisions of the Board are acted upon and the charity meets the legal and regulatory requirements of a CIO. In this role, you will work with key stakeholders, including staff in Country Programmes, Finance Teams, Regional Funding Managers and external partners to develop high-quality bids for opportunities with institutional and non-institutional donors that act like institutions. This includes bilateral and multilateral donors (e.g. FCDO, GAC, USAID, EU, World Bank), as well as some work with trusts and foundations.

• Work with country finance teams to build and review project budgets that reflect the technical design
• Negotiate WaterAid's scope of work and budget with external partners

About You:

• Experience developing winning proposals to a range of institutional and non-institutional funders, ideally for development projects in low-income countries

CCX’s organisational structure is a hybrid management model, blending elements of both functional and project-based structures. Project teams are formed to address specific initiatives, tasks, or delivery projects. The two core teams of Operations and Media operate as shared services across the organisation.

As the Scheme Manager you will be working in one of the residential housing schemes based in East London, managing repairs, designing social activities and engaging with residents. You will also be assisting in regulatory and compliance work, reviewing processes and suggesting improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

• All areas of resident management including welcoming new residents, completing inductions to ensure they understand the facilities available and understand the scheme processes, completing daily welfare checks and reporting concerns relating to safeguarding.
• Delivering a holistic sheltered housing service to every resident, helping them maintain their tenancy, access housing services, and sign posting to other service providers.
• Monitoring and reporting any breaches of tenancy agreements, managing complaints and escalating where necessary.

• Overall responsibility for the health and safety of the Scheme, ensuring fire alarm testing, emergency lighting testing and complete all fire testing logs. Ensuring health and safety procedures and policies are adhered to across the scheme and paperwork and training are compliant.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in managing a residential scheme, working with older people and knowledge of related services and benefits, with a strong understanding of housing legislation and the regulatory framework within housing. Experience of managing health and safety and any safeguarding issues and concerns within a residential scheme, is also key.

• Proven track record of senior management expertise spanning Operations, HR, and Finance.

• Extensive experience in contracting, project funding, and security management within the humanitarian sector.

About this job

We’re recruiting for a Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager to join our team in Northern Ireland.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience in shaping policy and the ability to communicate the position of the MS Society in Northern Ireland and develop its profile to a wide range of audiences.

You’ll also act as a spokesperson for the MS Society in Northern Ireland and play an important role in developing our strategic approach to supporting people affected by MS. Helping us to ensure that our priorities align with the needs and aspirations of the MS community.

We’re looking for the successful candidate to be able to demonstrate that they understand the challenges that people with MS face. You’ll be mobilising the MS community in Northern Ireland to make a powerful case for continued improvement in the treatment, care and support of people living with MS.

You’ll be enthusiastic and passionate about the work we do, forge strong partnerships with key stakeholders and represent the MS Society at key meetings and events in Northern Ireland.

This is a fantastic role for someone who understands the political and policy environment in Northern Ireland, enjoys taking a strategic and operational lead, and enjoys leading powerful campaigns.
