Job description

About Us: Ordinary Magic is a dedicated not-for-profit organisation focused on providing mental health support and services to our community. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate and dynamic Business Development Officer to join our team and help diversify our income streams, identify trading opportunities, and support our fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Income Diversification: Develop and implement strategies to diversify our income streams, including identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities.
  • Trading Opportunities: Identify and evaluate potential trading opportunities that align with our mission and values.
  • Bid Support: Assist in the preparation and submission of bids for contracts and grants, ensuring all requirements are met and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Fundraising Oversight: Oversee various aspects of fundraising, including donor engagement, event planning, and campaign management.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, partners, and community organisations.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges in the mental health sector.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on business development activities, outcomes, and progress towards targets.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in business development, fundraising, or a related field, preferably within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of income diversification strategies and trading opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for mental health and commitment to the mission of Ordinary Magic
