Location: Hybrid. The post holder will be contractually based at Hospice House,Kings cross London. This role is eligible for the Hospice UK Hybrid Working Arrangement from the start of employment.
Our office is a short walk from King’s Cross station in London. For this role, we need someone to come into the office at least one day a week, on a Tuesday. A day where all of Income Generation come into the office. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time. We encourage all colleagues to visit member hospices to help inform our work and you may be able to work from there.

The Team:
We are a team of three that sit within the wider Income Generation and Grants directorate. The Compassionate Employers team includes the Compassionate Employers Programme Lead, Corporate Development Manager and the Compassionate Employers Executive.
Working together, we aim to support employers who need our workplace services, ultimately raising funds for hospices throughout the UK.
The Compassionate Employers programme and this role sit within our Corporate Development Team, within Income Generation and Grants. Compassionate Employers is a key part of Hospice UK’s Income Generation strategy.
Our Corporate Development Team works closely within and across the department. The focus in the team is on building partnerships with businesses, through commercial activity, fundraising or strategic support. Current corporate partnerships include several ‘charity of the year’ relationships, conferences and events, sponsorship, cause-related marketing partnerships, a supplier directory and a jobs board. As well as driving positive change for people affected by terminal illness and bereavement in the workplace, Compassionate Employers is an important income generation stream and ‘door-opener’ for Hospice UK.

About the Role
Working at an enhanced practice level with support from senior colleagues to deliver a co-ordinated and comprehensive specialist dementia service to patients and their families/carers.
This will include developing knowledge, skills and experience with support from senior colleagues to undertake independent and autonomous practice: comprehensive holistic assessments, agreeing specialist palliative treatment management plans and advance care planning to be delivered through community and out-patient settings.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. This free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and rapid response vehicles.
Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.
They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only in the hospital emergency department.

The main objective of this role is to drive income to the hospice from individuals, growing and retaining donors through direct mail cash appeals, regular giving, lottery, in-memory giving and legacy promotion.

About The Role
This is an incredibly exciting, high-impact role within the organisation. As Head of Fundraising you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and our key fundraiser, critical fundraising strategist and have the scope to influence and shape our programmes.
You have a broad and well-established funder base to jump off from and will have the opportunity to bring in exciting new funders as more environmentally focused grant givers are starting to embrace diet change as a key tool for tackling the climate crisis.
We are looking for someone who can build on the relationships and initiatives developed over the last few years, to ensure Made In Hackney can fulfil its strategic goals and meet our annual income target. You will be instrumental in driving income development and in leading fundraising initiatives with an emphasis on Trusts and Foundations, individual giving, major gift fundraising, corporate giving and statutory bodies such. You will nurture key relationships with existing donors and potential new supporters and build and manage a robust pipeline of supporters.

Responsibilities include:
Leadership, Strategy and Governance
- To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.
- To contribute to strategic discussions on the future direction of the organisation.
- To participate and / or lead in team meetings as appropriate.
- To act as the lead staff team representative on the Strategy and Fundraising Board Sub-committee, actively contributing and working with Trustees, as well as attending Board meetings.
- To participate in organisational budget planning and monitoring meetings.
Fundraising and Development
- To co-design and write grant applications and secure grant funding from Trusts, Foundations or Corporate entities in line with our annual target (likely to be in the range of £400k-£500k).
- To work with the Partnerships Manager to secure Fundraising income from individual givers, major donors, Crowdfunding campaigns and other fundraising initiatives in line with our annual target (likely to be in the range of £200k).
- To develop and execute an annual fundraising strategy: building a sustainable portfolio consisting of grants and donations from individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations, to ensure long-term sustainable funding of activities.
- To research and prospect future funders.
- To maintain precise and up-to-date records on current and potential supporters and prospects.
- To create engaging fundraising communication tools.
- To establish partnerships for joint programmes and funding bids where beneficial.
Donor stewardship & reporting
- To retain current donors and maximise fundraising opportunities, including delivering a programme of appropriate stewardship opportunities with the core team.
- To work with the team to co-design programmes and their evaluation requirements to ensure the organisation meets the grant funders' requirements.
- To complete reporting to grant funders, including developing report templates, creating reports, case studies, and other administrative requirements.
Communications
- To input into MIH’S communications strategy and the planning and implementation of improvements to marketing plans, digital presence and social media strategy to ensure impact and fundraising successes are communicated
- To maintain a stock of impact-focused case studies and success stories and ensure fundraising successes are communicated on social media and online.
- To ensure the robust monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns; providing key input to the annual report and impact report.
- To coordinate fundraising events with the Community Partnerships Manager.
Line Management
- To have direct line management responsibility for the Community Partnerships Manager and Social Media & Marketing Manager, creating a supportive environment for growth and development.

The postholder will be responsible for processing various types of income and will play a key role in documenting the Charity’s fundraising activities
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Working to process fundraising and donor income for the Charity
- Carrying out data imports on Microsoft Dynamics
- Performing data amendments and data cleaning
- Exporting data to external agencies
- Batching donations and allocating them into various areas
- Creating reports using MS Access
- Performing new donor imports
- Carrying out manual amendments of supporter records on Access
- Batching online donation payments
- Writing/amending/running queries in MS Access to create monthly reports
- Carrying out clawbacks
Ideal candidate profile:
- Experience in a similar Data Officer position within a Charity
- Advanced Excel experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications including MS Teams, Outlook and Word

A well-known Charity is looking to recruit a Head of Finance on an interim basis whilst the organisation go through a period of transformation.
As the Head of Finance you will be accountable for leading and managing a small team that are responsible for statutory reporting, business partnering and preparing the annual budget and monthly management accounts.
