We're seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Contracts Officer to join our team in Kings Cross. About the role:

As a Maintenance Contracts Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring our contracted suppliers provide high quality, reliable services to our supported housing schemes, to ensure clients have safe, good quality accommodation they can call home.

In your role, you will lead on tender and procurement processes to secure contracts with suppliers that deliver reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality services. You will be responsible for ensuring all contracted suppliers hold relevant qualifications, health and safety and, insurance requirements at the point of tender and throughout the contract period.

You will work with the wider maintenance team to respond to queries from our supported housing colleagues related to contracted services.  

About you:

• You’ll bring experience of contract administration and monitoring the performance of contracted suppliers, with the ability to implement and manage supplier performance improvement plans.  
• Your toolkit includes an understanding of customer needs, and how to manage expectations to deliver a professional service, including recognising and managing dissatisfaction. 
• You have strong negotiation skills, actively listen and effectively adapt to meet the needs of all stakeholders.  
• Strong team-working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a collaborative approach to delivering the service. 
• You are self-motivated and understand the impact of your work and follow through.
• You can handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritise and schedule tasks to meet deadlines and goals.

Homeless Link is the national membership charity for frontline homelessness agencies and the wider housing with health, care and support sector in England. As a learning and development specialist, working as part of our Member Services Team, you will be responsible for leading the growth, advancement and sales of our learning and development offer.  This includes specialist training and coaching services that we run commercially to help staff working in homelessness to focus on their personal development or unlock change. Through these services we want to help create a high performing homelessness workforce who have the skills, knowledge and behaviours to provide professional and consistent support to people experiencing homelessness. 

The successful candidate will have experience of developing and implementing learning strategies and programmes along with project development & management skills.  A knowledge of homelessness or supported housing sector is desirable but not essential.

About the role 

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in London across up to 3 schools along with remote working. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website.

The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised. 

Role responsibilities 

Our schools undertake either our Gateway model, which includes mentoring and tutoring or our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Some Accelerate schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model.

Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include:

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme 
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications 

• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided) 
• Build and manage relationships with volunteers to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme 
• Manage students’ relationships with volunteers through monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls.
• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme 
• Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress. 
• University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver volunteer training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided). 
• Any other responsibilities reasonably deemed necessary by The Access Project’s Programme Managers or Director.

THE ROLE
The Project Development Manager role is part of The Building Capacity Project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF), which seeks to develop the skills and capacity of communities on the west coast of Scotland to deliver the aims of the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest i.e. protect and restore Scotland’s globally important temperate rainforest. The Woodland Trust has secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for this project's initial two-year ‘development’ phase.

The Project Development Manager will lead the development work, coordinating project partners to ensure the timely development of plans for the delivery and for the stage 2 funding bid to NLHF. They will oversee delivery of specific activities ensuring targets and timelines are adhered to and the prudent financial management of the development phase budget. They’ll produce reports and feedback to funders and the project board and steering group regarding progress as well as identifying opportunities to share best practice to maximise opportunities.

This is an 18 month fixed term position. Should our funding bid for the subsequent five-year ‘delivery’ phase be successful, we hope the PDM will remain in post to support the delivery of these plans.

THE CANDIDATE
You’ll have experience in project development, leadership and delivery in the environment, conservation or heritage sector including experience in managing contractors and consultants. You’ll have the ability to monitor, evaluate and learn from the project progress, using your excellent communication skills to report back to the funders and project board. 

You will have experience building meaningful working relationships with a range of key stakeholders, engaging effectively with them to be involved and inspired by our work and ensuring maximised potential impact of the project.  You will have a collaborative approach with experience of working with partners and multiple teams and organisations for a shared purpose.

THE ROLE
The Engagement and Communications Officer (ECO) is part of an exciting new ‘Building Capacity Project’ which seeks to develop the skills and capacity of communities on the west coast of Scotland to deliver the aims of the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest i.e. protect and restore Scotland’s globally important temperate rainforest. The ECO will support the Project Development Manager, project team members and local staff working in three landscape-scale project ‘hubs’ (in Argyll, Morvern and Torridon). The role will provide opportunities for audiences to connect with Scotland’s rainforest and build the skills and capacity needed to sustainably restore it. This involves working with communities, organisations and specialists to a) raise awareness of Scotland’s rainforest, b) facilitate volunteering, on-the-job training and the sharing of learning about how to restore it, and c) inspire a long-term commitment to look after it.  

The ECO will plan and deliver communications and engagement activities during the project's development phase, and support the Project Development Manager to create a comprehensive activity plan for the delivery phase.  This includes surveying audiences to benchmark attitudes; managing a launch event; using existing (or establishing new) local and regional communication channels to reach audiences and share progress; co-developing with partners a series of meaningful engagement opportunities; supporting project ‘hubs’ to develop their own communications and engagement plans and monitoring the impact of project activities.

You will be able to confidently organise and deliver a range of events from online webinars to community gatherings; have working knowledge of using social media for marketing, capturing interesting content and writing engaging stories, and you’ll be happy self-managing a diverse and varied workload. 

Plus you’ll have experience working as part of a project team, supporting funding bids, budgeting for, and reporting on the impact of your activity. Oh and have a genuine interest in Scotland’s rainforest of course!

A full UK driving licence is required so you can travel across the west coast when required. Access to your own vehicle would be ideal.

You’ll play a key role in the development of our Face to Face Fundraising Programme as we embrace new ideas and technology and develop a face to face fundraising culture across the organisation. Working with a largely field-based team, you’ll provide the structured logistical support needed to keep a dynamic operation running smoothly.

In addition to door to door fundraising, our face to face team has a presence at over 100 events every year – including some of the UK’s biggest music festivals – and you’ll be crucial to planning these events. Join us as a Senior Community Organiser on the groundbreaking Power to Prosper project, a partnership between the New Economics Foundation and The Runnymede Trust. This initiative aims to address the underlying causes of poverty, inequality, and problem debt in the United Kingdom, focusing on racial equity and community empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

● Leadership and Strategy: Lead and manage a team of community organisers working in partnership with organisations across multiple locations in the UK. Develop and implement a comprehensive community organising strategy aligned with the project's goals.

● Community Engagement: Coach and support community organisers in building relationships and mobilising impacted communities, particularly those from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds, single-parent families, and households with disabled members.

● Campaign Development: Collaborate with partner organisations to design and execute impactful campaigns that address economic inequalities and advance racial justice.

● Capacity Building: Equip community members with organising and leadership skills to take collective action on local, regional, and national issues related to inequality, poverty, and problem debt.

● Research Collaboration: Work closely with research teams to integrate participatory action research (PAR) methodologies into community engagement activities. Analyse qualitative data and contribute to evidence-based advocacy.

Required Skills and Experience:

● Demonstrable experience in community organising, leadership, and campaign development.

Role Overview:
