Let’s Go Zero is a national campaign uniting teachers, pupils, parents and their schools as they all work together to be zero carbon by 2030. We’re also working with national government to ensure the right support is in place to help all schools reach this goal through seven policy actions.
The Let’s Go Zero campaign is seeking one Climate Action Advisor based in Cumbria or Lancashire, and one Climate Action Advisor based in North/North East Lincolnshire or Hull, as part of its new climate action advisors project. This initiative will link thousands of schools across the whole of England with advice and support from a network of 31 local climate experts.
About the Role
Do you have a passion for climate action? Are you confident engaging with external stakeholders? We're looking for two advisors to support school leaders, local authorities and others to carry out projects that reduce emissions and inspire students and the wider community. We know schools are eager to take climate action, but often lack the information to do so.
You will play an important role helping them develop their plans, secure funding, and work in partnership to achieve their goals. You will support future new initiatives announced by our coalition members, the Department for Education, or other organisations working in schools, to ensure a smooth flow of information, enabling schools to transition to zero carbon.
This is an exciting and varied role, with the potential to support thousands of schools on their journey to zero carbon.
What you might find yourself doing:
Climate action advice:

Advising school leaders, multi academy trust leaders, local authorities and local networks about climate action in buildings, estates and within school activities.

Developing relationships with local authorities, supporting their current initiatives, building on the work already being done to support schools in the area.

Attending and speaking in person at local and online events to encourage climate action and promoting sustainability.

Visiting some schools in person to provide direct 1:1 guidance to school leaders.

Recording all school engagement, advice and action in the Let’s Go Zero tracker and ensuring all team members do the same.

Working in partnership with other Climate Action Advisors across England.
Communications:

Communicating complex guidance to a mixed audience – helping school leaders, estates staff, finance teams and teachers to understand their impact and possible action.

Working with the communications team to generate insights into Let’s Go Zero’s work, contributing to articles and blogs.

Producing case studies of action in schools to be shared with the wider climate action network.
About You

BACKGROUND:
For many families there are issues that precede a young person’s gang involvement. Personal circumstances typically involve poverty, unsuitable housing, separation, family conflict, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health and imprisonment.
Gang involvement increases the risk of violence and victimisation to the young person, their friends and their family, therefore, it essential when supporting young people to exit gangs we adopt a ‘whole family’ approach.
A ‘whole family’ approach involves working with the family to assess risk, ensuring all family members feel safe, mentoring young people who are involved in or at risk of gang and serious youth violence and offering holistic support to enable the family to achieve their potential and raise aspirations.
Without the right support, families can become trapped in a cycle of homelessness, crime, unemployment and poverty that is passed on from generation to generation.
St Giles Trust solution to this stark reality is our Children & Families Service. The C&F team offer an intensive and holistic approach that seeks to understand the complex and inter-related family issues behind poverty in order to resolve them. Children & Families Caseworkers break the cycle, unlocking chaotic families’ potential, and empowering them to raise themselves out of poverty.
Key Deliverables:
- To develop and maintain relationships with other agencies, ensuring a steady flow of referrals to the project; in particular schools, PRU’s, Youth Offending Services and Children’s Social Care.
- To support families using a 1:1 tailored and holistic practical & emotional support to improve mental health & wellbeing, housing, finances, living environment and increase their readiness to engage in training and employment
- To complete initial needs assessments with families and support them to develop individual action plans and regularly review to assess progress
- To promote inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process and to include involved agencies in the delivery of the services
- To carry out and review thorough risk management plans with families ensuring each family member has an age-appropriate safety plan
- Provide a client led support service that responds to individual’s needs. Key elements will include supporting with housing, finances, schooling, parenting, health and wellbeing, ETE and criminal justice
- To support families who are affected by domestic violence, this will include working with victims and perpetrators
- To deliver the service in a timely and targeted manner, working through identified issues on the action plan, promoting case closure as an achievable outcome
- To close cases effectively and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that can be used for ongoing support and agencies that can be used if serious problems develop in the future

Established in 1936 and one of Scotland’s leading wildlife bodies, the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with some 3500 members. Its purpose is to advance the study and appreciation of birds in Scotland by promoting their documentation, promoting interest in them, promoting their conservation, providing a focus for information about them and encouraging the appreciation of relevant creative arts.
The Club’s headquarters, which also feature a renowned ornithology library, wildlife art gallery and sales outlet, are in Aberlady, East Lothian. Fifteen nationwide Branches are led by members who organise events, outings and projects in their areas. Staff contribute a national series of events, conferences and training activities for members of all ages. Publications include the highly regarded quarterly journal Scottish Birds, mobile app (Where to Watch Birds in Scotland), regional bird reports, e-newsletters and other online media.
The Club Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of running the Club, including its small team of staff, volunteers, an annual turnover of about £350,000 and assets which include built property (HQ). They will champion and drive forward the Club’s vision and goals. There will be emphasis on strong leadership to manage and support staff, volunteers and trustees; ensuring the highest standard of services to members; planning and reporting on the annual programme of Club-wide events and developing future priorities.
KEY OBJECTIVES:
- To provide strong leadership and management in relation to staff and the provision of all aspects of the Club's delivery of services and support to its members, in line with its status and responsibilities as a SCIO.
- To liaise and work closely with the SOC’s Council and committees in their work, regularly reporting to and advising Council and Management Committee.
- To support and drive forward the continuous improvement of the Club.
- To oversee the effective running and maintenance of the Club’s headquarters in Aberlady.

MAIN WORK AREAS
- Lead, direct and manage our staff team (nine employees), and provide guidance and direction for volunteers and contract workers as appropriate. Includes staff work plans and annual appraisals, oversight of all HR functions and support of staff in line with good professional practice.
- Ensure the legal requirements of the SCIO are met, including preparation and submission of an Annual Report and Statement of Accounts to the Scottish charity regulator (OSCR)
- Oversee the planning and organisation of the Club’s autumn annual conference and AGM, and the joint SOC/BTO spring conference.
- Work with SOC Secretary to support the Club’s volunteer-led Council and committees, including timely production of papers, reports and minutes, as required.
- Review and update as necessary staff support for Club Branches.
- Together with relevant committees, develop and monitor forward planning for the Club.
- Ensure implementation of all H&S, safeguarding and risk management responsibilities, in line with external and internal policy and Risk Register needs. Ensure regular review of policies, advising Management Committee and ensuring awareness of them wherever necessary among Council and Committee members, staff, contractors and volunteer leaders.
- Work with the Office Manager to ensure compliance with all necessary measures for the maintenance and management of Waterston House and its users.
- Ensure appropriate insurance cover for all relevant Club needs, including property, people, events and activities.
- Oversee the staff role in contributing to preparation and monitoring of our annual budget, reporting regularly to relevant committees.
- Oversee and support as appropriate all Club publications and media activities, including its website, Scottish Birds, newsletters and other communications.

In this role, you'll provide vital housing support for those exiting homelessness, ensuring they maintain their tenancies. Collaborating closely with colleagues and services, you'll offer tailored assistance to help clients secure and sustain their tenancies. Responsibilities include facilitating engagement with services, maintaining support plans, and addressing barriers to progress. You will also contribute to exit plans and engage with clients on personal growth and community integration.

Parenting and Creative Therapy Service
Contract: Permanent, 21 hours per week
0.6 WTE, 3 days per week - location: Coram campus, London
Coram Parenting and Creative Therapy Service offers art, music and drama therapy, therapeutic
parenting, clinical psychology and family therapy to children and families at our dedicated creative
therapies centre, in schools, and at home (online). We work primarily with adoptive and connected
carer families, and children who have low level mental health difficulties. We are a trauma-informed
service, and are developing Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) approaches in our work and
have specialist expertise in neuro-diversity and children with special education needs. The well
established team has a strong track record in therapeutic interventions, including music therapy and
narrative therapy based multi-family groups for younger children who are adopted or with a Special
Guardianship Order. We are developing partnerships with universities - Newcastle University and
The Institute of Contemporary Music and Performance and are piloting research based creative
therapy interventions. We work within very diverse communities and we consciously challenge
ourselves and our practice , seeking at all times to be inclusive and anti-racist. We welcome

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide therapeutic multi-disciplinary assessments
and interventions in our work with adopted and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) families. This
work involves trauma informed approaches, using DDP, narrative, family and life story work. The
team is led by a Clinical Psychologist who will provide supervision for this role. The team provides
creative, relational, and evidence based approaches collaborating with wider networks and reaching
schools and communities to inform child centred and trauma informed practice. The post offers a
unique opportunity to work alongside skilled creative and family therapists. We seek to empower
children and families using strengths based narratives, as well as accepting vulnerability and seeking
opportunity for connection, strengthening resilience and support.
The successful candidate will be a clinical psychologist that is skilled and experienced in working with

a dynamic professional environment. A background in CAMHS and/or a social care services would

Who: We are looking for an experienced, self-starting Finance Manager for the Central Foundation Schools of London, a charity supporting two state schools in London, with investments and endowments in the region of £40m.
Responsibilities: The Finance Manager will be responsible through the CEO to the Board, for day-to-day management of the charity’s accounts and all financial operations. They will manage the financial record keeping, payroll, pensions, banking and oversee the tracking of Foundation’s investments and income. The postholder will provide accurate financial management information, including quarterly cashflow forecasting and management accounts and co-ordinating the annual budget setting process. They will be responsible for preparing the annual accounts to the required standards and overseeing the annual audit process. Our Work: For over 150 years, the Central Foundation Schools of London has supported two schools in inner London. Our People: We are a small team with three part time staff managing the day to day work of the Foundation. A Board of 18 trustees/directors volunteer their time and skills and collaborate closely with the small staff team. In 2022 the Board started a process of transformation and modernisation of the charity’s operations and processes.
