Your experience of relationships development and management will help with developing new schools as well as supporting existing school relationships. Property & Facilities Manager

About the role

Becoming the Programme Marketing Manager at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is a fantastic opportunity to help drive progress for women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries by engaging more people in our work.

The key purpose of this role is to effectively market our programmes to participants – chiefly our HerVenture business skills microlearning app and our sector-leading Mentoring Women in Business programme.

This will span three main projects:

· to successfully manage a marketing agency to effectively market the HerVenture app to women in South Africa (as part of a fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Mar ‘25);

· to successfully manage the same marketing agency to promote the app in Nigeria (as part of a separate fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Dec ‘24); and

· to effectively promote the opportunity to become a mentor to a woman entrepreneur through our Mentoring Women in Business programme to paying professionals worldwide. Your objective will be to secure 18+ paid mentors for the Nov ’24 programme intake and 20+ for the May ’25 intake.

Following the completion of the two HerVenture marketing projects, you will also lead other programme marketing initiatives in 2025. These will be determined in late 2024.

Following the May ’25 Mentoring intake you will deliver a strategy, harnessing your learning and analysis to outline an approach for marketing the programme to paying mentors in future.

You will also be called on to support other forms of programme marketing on an ad hoc basis, for example advising on development of corporate pitch decks, or co-designing materials for fundraising events.

This position reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing, however this is a highly collaborative role and you will also work closely with the Entrepreneurship programmes team and the Programme Funding team to develop and deliver plans and manage projects.

Our ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and motivated marketer with experience in ‘selling’ professional development / online volunteering opportunities, and in managing agencies and contractors to deliver on fixed projects as aligned to good marketing practices. You should be highly organised and goals-driven, with a collaborative approach, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to harness the power of marketing to support women’s economic empowerment.

Citizens Advice Richmond (CAR) is a thriving advice organisation that is part of the national Citizens Advice network. Hackney Foodbank is looking for a Volunteer Manager to join their team 2 days per week (14 hours).

Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

The Volunteer Manager role is responsible for recruiting, engaging and deploying volunteers into a wide variety of roles across the charity.

• Work with the Warehouse Manager and Food Distribution teams to support the recruitment journey and retention of volunteers. Encourage people to volunteer through a variety of marketing and promotion approaches, including social media and working with our Communications and Fundraising team to develop a strategy for volunteers. Develop, coordinate, and engage a network of around 150 active volunteers. Book and signpost volunteers to relevant and engaging volunteer training sessions. Work with the Warehouse Manager and Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering to resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints. Proactively liaise with the staff team to determine volunteer requirements, select volunteers for the right roles and match them to the right people, considering preferences and restrictions on both sides. Provide advice and guidance to volunteers about their matched relationship (with support from the wider team) and highlight safeguarding concerns as appropriate. Work effectively to ensure volunteers feel part of Hackney Foodbank. Support the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our services.
• Gathering volunteer feedback and take appropriate steps for improvement.
• Manage the Assemble platform and implement the annual Peakon volunteer survey, and implement the recommendations resulting from the survey.

Skills and Experience

Introduction to Generate

Generate is a charity that was founded in 1972 by passionate volunteers who wanted to make sure that people with learning disabilities weren’t isolated in their local community.

Today that passion still inspires our staff: to support people with learning disabilities to live their lives, in the way they choose – enabling people to discover their passions, connect with their communities and explore ‘possibilities’. This passion drives the quality of the work we do.

Main Purpose of Role: To manage the portfolio of Generate projects related to promoting better health for people with a learning disability.

Responsibilities and Duties specific to this role:

• Collaborating with the other manager on the following:
• Day to day management of the Easy Health website, website management and membership management.
• Day to day management of the Easy Health social media: Creating regular engaging content and posting to the Easy Health twitter and Facebook pages, engaging with replies.
• Co-creating accessible health resources alongside Generate staffs with lived experience of learning disability.
• Designing and delivering training, in collaboration with co-trainers who have learning disabilities.
• Promoting Generate’s health training and easy read work.
• Increasing Generate’s earned income from health training, easy read work and contract delivery.
• Delivering on all the Health Project contracts to increase the accessibility of primary care services and reduce health inequalities for people with disabilities in Wandsworth and the UK.
• Manage a team of consultants and sessional project workers, some with lived experience of learning disability and autism.

Person Specification

We recognise that not every candidate will have all these skills and experiences but are looking for somebody who can show us that they meet a high number of them.

• At least 1 year experience of coordinating or managing projects.
• Experience of website management using a content management system.
• Applied experience of creating accessible digital products and platforms.
• Working knowledge of social media, online campaigns & community engagement, creating engaging and inclusive content.
• Experience of designing and delivering engaging and informative training, including online and blended trainings.
• Knowledge about health inequalities for people with learning disabilities, and the challenges this group of people face in accessing healthcare.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues with a learning disability and neurodiverse colleagues – understanding of reasonable adjustments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adjust communication style to different audiences, and provide accessible information.
• Experience of managing relationships with a range of external stakeholders.
• Experience of promoting a product or service and creating new business opportunities.
• Experience of using person centred approaches with people with a learning disability.
• Experience of using design tools (Canva, the Adobe suite, Final Cut Pro....)
• Good IT skills including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Methodical and well organised, with the ability to prioritise work effectively.

What you will be doing

• Project delivery: Getting involved in project delivery, such as foundational research for project development and delivering workshops.
• Project management: Overseeing the effective delivery of projects, including reporting, and supporting the planning and set up of new projects as they come online.
• Innovation and Development: Supporting us to improve and expand our projects and programmes. You will also assist in identifying new projects or funding opportunities and contribute to the preparation of funding proposals. This may involve exploring options for the governance structure of this area of work.
• Marketing and communications: Promoting our projects, developing our external communications and acting as an ambassador for our community work.
• Monitoring and evaluation: We are on a journey to better capture the impact of specific projects, and the impact that our community work has collectively. You will take an active role in supporting this element of our work.
• Partnership working: Collaboration is key to our approach. You will liaise with existing clients and partners for project delivery, develop new partnerships to further our aims and also take part in key networking and external events.
• Team development: You will work closely with the Community Impact Lead to contribute to the development of the team, during our team meetings and away days. You will be comfortable managing staff, teams and subcontractors to deliver desired outcomes.
• Day-to-day operations: Working closely with the Community Impact Lead, HR and Finance, to support our remote project teams, problem solve issues as they arise, develop our internal systems and processes, maximise efficiencies and drive improvements.

World Child Cancer is seeking an experienced corporate and philanthropy fundraiser to join our growing team and play a vital role in improving the chances of survival and quality of life of children with cancer in under-resourced countries.

About World Child Cancer

Over 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. Childhood cancer is most often curable, with over 80% survival rate in high income countries. However, in many low-and-middle-income countries survival rates are often 25% or lower.

World Child Cancer’s goal is to help redress that inequity and improve the chances of children with cancer to survive and thrive in under-resourced countries. We currently work with local hospitals in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and Mexico to enable children with cancer to have equal access to the best possible treatment and care through awareness raising on signs of childhood cancer, providing financial, logistical and emotional support to address barriers to access treatment, training of healthcare workers and advocacy.

Overview of the role

This newly created Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager role will play a key part in raising income from companies and philanthropists to help achieve World Child Cancer’s mission.

You will be passionate about enabling children with cancer to have equitable access to quality treatment wherever they are born. We are looking for someone experienced in corporate and philanthropy fundraising, who is proactive, confident in engaging with high value funders, able to develop strong internal and external relationships, has strong verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative way of working and experience in developing new business.

You will join a small but ambitious and high performing team that contributes significantly to World Child Cancer’s annual income of c. £2m.

Reporting to: Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships

Location: UK-based hybrid role: Home working for the time being, with the provision for regular meetings in the office. Office attendance encouraged on Mondays (nr Fenchurch Street, London)

Employment type: 28-35 hours per week, with flexible working considered, permanent

Key responsibilities

Person Specification

Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent

A proven track record in corporate and major gift fundraising with evidence of successful solicitation of six figure gifts and multi-year gifts

Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability and confidence to interact with new and existing high value funders

Experience of successfully developing cultivation plans to engage new funders

Ability to research and identify potential new funders

Ability to translate complex, specialist information into accessible and compelling pitches, proposals and reports

Ability to help develop and monitor project budgets

Experience of working on multiple projects at the same time and cross-departmentally

A positive and collaborative team player 

Ability to work on own initiative, prioritising workload with little supervision when needed

Passion to improve the lives of children with cancer

Understanding of project management 

Flexibility to work out of usual working hours when required
