We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to help us deliver missional projects aligned with our Refreshed Diocesan Strategy. The strategy includes several bold outcomes such as doubling the number of young people choosing to attend worship regularly and having 3% of total population in the diocese regularly attending our churches.
Our diocesan strategy prioritises resourcing excellent youth ministry in seven ministry areas, to grow younger and more diverse. The good news is that we have just received funding for a 3-year Youth Hubs Pilot project, to define and evaluate an innovative approach to mission and evangelism with young people in a rural context, researching models for growing young disciples with the support of key research partners. Our goal is to bring about a step-change in youth ministry for the Diocese of Hereford and create a replicable model for reaching young people with the gospel in a rural context.
Our vision, which is “to proclaim Christ and grow disciples”, underpinned by our three behaviour values: Prayerful, Christlike and Engaged.

Do you have proven experience of the assessment, design and project cycle management for multi-sector programmes in large, complex settings, plus a track record of acquiring successful institutional funding from bilateral and multilateral donors? Then my client, World Vision UK could have the ideal opportunity for you.
About my client
World Vision UK (WVUK) is an international children’s charity working with children, their communities, and with supporters and partners, in almost 100 countries. Through long-term development projects, emergency responses and advocacy they have helped bring lasting change to millions of children, over more than 60 years. Join them, and you could soon be part of a truly global partnership that’s busy building brighter futures for vulnerable children.
About the role
A key member of WVUK’s Humanitarian & International Programmes (HIP) management team, you’ll lead the unit that’s responsible for acquiring around £35m of institutional donor funding (grants & contracts) each year, as well as corporate and philanthropic proposal development on behalf of the Strategic Partnership Directorate. Defining and ensuring a consistent approach to delivering quality and timely submissions that are coordinated and informed with input from all relevant stakeholders will be important too, as will ensuring the available capacity and capability of a team to lead submission development. Working at Caring For Life doesn’t just provide a job; it fulfils a calling into Christian Ministry. After 37 years, Caring FL continues to maintain its standpoint of only employing those who love the Lord Jesus. At Caring For Life, our work is based on the principle of Christian servanthood, and the way we support beneficiaries, and manage staff and volunteers, should all bring glory to God.
The principal aim of Caring For Life is to share the love of Jesus on a daily and very practical basis with many people, some of whom might have generally known nothing of His love; doing so through loving care and example, and it is our desire that they come to personal faith in Christ Jesus and become a part of His church.
We have some exciting opportunities for those wanting to work in Christian ministry, in a privileged environment where we get to share the love Jesus with the vulnerable and disadvantaged on the outskirts of Leeds.
These posts involve taking an active role in providing compassionate and consistent care to beneficiaries; taking part in prayer times; providing personal testimony of your experience of Jesus’ love, with both beneficiaries and members of the local community; and you may, from time to time, be asked to assist in supporting presentations in representing the Trust, predominantly to Christian church groups.
