We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director to lead a small charity who work within the Jewish community to make it more inclusive of LGBT+ people through education, consultancy and training.

Position: Executive Director

About the role:

As Executive Director you will lead a small team – Head of Education (full time), Head of Community Life (full time) and Programme and Volunteer Officer (full time), working with a charity that has a vision of a world where no one is forced to choose between their LGBT+ and Jewish identity.

As the only charity doing this in the UK, the charity works in partnership with communities to identify their goals, then tailor  support so they can achieve them.

Following 5 successful years (2018-2023) of running Positive Pathways in Yorkshire and Middlesbrough, Church Urban Fund have partnered with Doncaster City Complex Lives Team – an alliance of  agencies working to deliver a highly integrated approach to support people who have become locked in a cycle of homelessness, rough sleeping, addiction, offending behaviour, poor physical and mental health - to continue our work to support people that have experienced Homelessness in the local area.

In this role, you'll provide vital housing support for those exiting homelessness, ensuring they maintain their tenancies. Collaborating closely with colleagues and services, you'll offer tailored assistance to help clients secure and sustain their tenancies. Responsibilities include facilitating engagement with services, maintaining support plans, and addressing barriers to progress. You will also contribute to exit plans and engage with clients on personal growth and community integration.

You will also provide IT support to staff, liaise with our IT provider, carry out staff building induction and training as will be required for new starters, ensuring that procedures are in place for onboarding of new staff.

About You

To be considered as an Office Co-ordinator, you will need:

- Experience in a similar service and administration and/or office support orientated role
- Experience providing support to financial administration processes
- The ability to set up, implement and maintain office systems
- Good knowledge of IT and Office 365
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, flexible effective planner with a can do attitude
- At a minimum, A-Levels or an equivalent level of education or equivalent experience

Through its members and networks, Equally Ours joins up research, policy and communications to shift public opinion and policy in positive and powerful ways. At the end of 2022, they launched a 10-year strategy, Together for social justice, which sets out their bold agenda to increase equality and strengthen rights at scale. Equally Ours also provides the Secretariat for the Funders for Race Equality Alliance which is a group of charitable funders working together to advance race equality in the UK and support a sustained and thriving racial justice sector.

The Chief Operations Officer will lead day-to-day operations, provide additional capacity at a pivotal time, update policies and processes, and ensure the organisation runs smoothly and efficiently, and keeps improving. A big focus on internal development in 2023/24 was on becoming an anti-racist organisation, an ongoing commitment and journey. This is a small team, so leaders need to enjoy covering a wide range of duties, from the strategic to hands-on. The role will involve close collaboration with the CEO.   

Key responsibilities:

• You will lead on delivering operational, finance and people strategy as well as oversee finances, working closely with 3rd party finance providers to manage the allocation of resources and oversee budgeting, and grant management.
• Lead on all aspects of the HR function, taking charge of people development, staff support, finalise revised pay and wellbeing policies and implement changes. 
• You'll support the team to develop and manage impactful partnerships and stakeholder relationships, providing strategic advice on project delivery and ensuring partnership arrangements are well planned and managed with care.
• You'll ensure they are compliant, maintaining effective internal policies and procedures, and are managing organisational risks effectively.
• Alongside the CEO, you'll support the board of trustees in ensuring organisational governance is solid.  

To succeed in the role, you will need to have: 

The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who has successfully led a team and can build relationships at all levels. You will have strong experience in charity financial management, significant operational experience ideally within the charity sector, including HR and people, improving policies and systems, and charity governance. You will be a highly motivated and driven self-starter, able to adapt quickly when priorities change. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of leading internal organisation communications and creating high level reports and presentations. You will also have experience of implementing equality and human rights standards, for example the social work model of disability and anti-racist practices, throughout all areas of work. The ideal candidate may understand key concepts of structural inequality, combined with insight into your own experiences of advantage and disadvantage, and sensitivity and empathy to the rights and needs of colleagues.

About the role

Our Workplace Wellbeing Team has grown considerably in the past few years, and we take pride in delivering great training and raising awareness about mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. This role will play an important part in supporting that growth by maintaining and building on existing customer relationships and forming new ones, and working towards targets to generate an income for our services. This role may also be considered for growth into supporting other training delivered more broadly across Solent Mind.

You’ll work part-time (20 hours per week). Hours can be worked flexibly and include at least one day per week in the office.

About you 

As a Customer Experience and Sales Coordinator (Training), you would be key to the smooth running of our training team, ensuring customer needs are more than met. You’ll be well organised and able to prioritise tasks to ensure your training customers get a great training experience. Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for generating and acting on sales leads to deliver income to targets. A natural problem solver and good communicator, you’ll be in regular contact with customers, trainers, finance and the wider Solent Mind team. Ideally, you’ll have worked in a similar role and have confidence in sales, events, using a CRM and a range of Microsoft tools, such as Excel, Office, Teams, PowerPoint.
