About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school. 

Key Objectives for this Role

Working with the Lead Youth Worker you will: 

Homework Clubs

•Collect up to date consent information for all young people joining Future Foundations

•Support with creating session plans for club nights

•Research and source necessary resources activities 

•Support to plan and run engaging and fun activities/ongoing projects for the young people

•Use participatory methods to involve young people about Clubs 

•Ensure children’s participation and encourage ownership of and responsibility for the Clubs

•Implement our behaviour management policy

•Liaise with families/carers to communicate information regarding Clubs and Mentoring

•Support with maintaining robust recording and monitoring systems (including registers) and ensure quotes, case studies and feedback are saved and stored

•Maintain, collect, edit and store documentation of activities, including photos, case studies and videos, for Newsletters, funding reports and other records

•Maintain excellent safeguarding practices

•Support whole team with making referrals to external partners and support agencies

•Support the Lead Youth Worker with running a weekly Youth Club for post-16 young people

•Support mentor coordinator with running early years mentoring sessions, when needed

•Work evenings and varied working hours

Trips and activities 

•Work with the Lead Youth Worker and Community Learning Coordinator to develop an annual programme of activity and trips during school holidays

•Ensure that this is done in collaboration with our children, young people, their families and other KLS projects

•Assist with the summer programme development, organisation and delivery

Teamwork and reporting

•Work with Future Foundations team members to coordinate work, refer young people and/or parents/carers to our casework and advice team.

•Contribute to reports for trustees and funders and attend periodic meetings with funders

•Communicate well with other teams within KLS to provide a high-quality service to our members

Other Duties 

•Participate in regular supervision and annual appraisals; help to identify your own job related development and training needs.

Person Specification

The following skills and experience are required for this post:

Essential

·Experience of working with refugee communities and/or children/young people and/or vulnerable groups ensuring that clients’ needs are at the forefront of service planning and delivery 

·Excellent communicating skills (oral and written) with refugee young people, their families, staff and partner organisations 

·Ability to motivate, support and encourage young people 

·Ability to work as part of small team, whilst also working independently

·Personal attributes: hard working, organised, takes initiative, reliable, patient, high professional standards 

·Knowledge of up-to-date best practice as regards safeguarding the welfare of children 

·Excellent IT skills including MS Office suite and ability to use Internet, email and social media

Desirable

·Experience of planning, delivery and reporting in a similar voluntary sector project (preferably with refugee communities) 

·Experience and sensitivity working with young people who are affected by mental health issues and past trauma. Empathetic, non-judgmental and able to form supportive but boundaried relationships with young people 

·Track record of managing volunteers

·A recognised teaching and/or youth work qualification 

·Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects effectively and ensuring that they are consistently meeting needs and being able to demonstrate value to funders

·Aptitude for communicating in another language, particularly Somali, Farsi and/or Tigrinya

The West Midlands Synod of the United Reformed Church (based in Yardley), is looking for an individual to provide technical expertise on buildings and property in support of Synod Officers, members of Synod Committees and local churches.

The successful candidate will be working to a wide brief and is expected to undertake a range of duties including, but not limited to, advising and initiating action on property issues in local churches, overseeing quinquennial inspections and manse inspections, and providing advice on property-related matters to Synod Committees.

Trusts and Foundations Manager 

St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity (SMITFC) is looking for a strategic, relationship-driven Trusts and Foundations Manager to help shape the future of our income generation from charitable trusts and foundations. This is a pivotal role within our Philanthropy, Trusts and Foundations Team, working to ensure that we not only maintain but significantly grow our sustainable income streams in support of people experiencing homelessness and extreme vulnerability.

Working alongside the Philanthropy Manager and Prospect Researcher, this role will be responsible for identifying and securing new 5-6 figure+ gifts, maintaining and deepening engagement with our existing funding partners and developing a pipeline of future funding opportunities designed to spread risk and build for a reliable, realistic income growth over time.

Key Responsibilities

 The successful candidate will:

• Work with the Head of Philanthropy, Trusts and Foundations (P&TF) to develop the Charity’s Trust and Foundations growth strategy ensuring it maximises sustainable net income from both general and restricted Trust and Foundation funding sources, diversifies income and starts to spread income timelines away from a reliance on our Christmas appeal period.
• Work collaboratively across the charity to acquire an excellent knowledge and understanding of SMITFC values and programmes, to inform the creation of bespoke donor materials, cases for support, funding proposals and reports.
• Lead on the creation and submission of bespoke proposals and reports to existing Trusts and Foundations, maintaining accurate development and submission deadlines and excellent records of progress and outcomes on CRM.
• Lead on the cultivation and maintenance of strong relationships with existing funders and trustees, identifying opportunities for key decision makers to become active and engaged in the Charity’s activities, whilst gaining a greater understanding of a project’s long term aims and consequent impact.
• Work in collaboration with the Prospect Researcher to develop a pipeline of new 5-6 figure + Trusts and Foundations prospects able to give within the next 3 years.
• Lead on the bespoke stewardship and engagement of newly identified 5-6 figure + Trusts and Foundations prospects and ensure that submission deadlines are met, and reporting schedules observed.
• Work with the P&TF team to deliver our annual Christmas Appeal – to include the development of the P&TF Christmas Appeal 2025, deliver the annual Christmas Appeal Launch event, and optimize the use of social medial and other platforms to reach potential new funders over the Christmas period and beyond.
• Work with the P&TF team to develop the high value offering for the 100 Anniversary appeal 2026.
• Ensure that resources and budgets are managed effectively and provide Trust and Foundation fundraising financial information as required by the Head of P&TF – including contributing to income risk assessments, identifying gaps or shifts in funding and support contingency planning with the wider P&TF team.
• Ensure accurate records of funding opportunities, donor contact details and prospect research are maintained across CRM and finance systems.
• Work collaboratively with SMITF partner charities to align stewardship, donor asks and maximise income.

Job Title: Substance Misuse Worker

About the role

We are seeking a Substance Misuse Worker who has a specialism in mental health and substance use to join our team in Catford. You will be based within a 24 hour service which provides enhanced rehabilitation support to adults who have been diagnosed with severe and enduring mental health, who would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation and recovery-focused approach. Within this role, you will provide specialist knowledge and experience to support the wider team and residents to help them to overcome their personal barriers.

You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will be a specialist in comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of your duties will include:

• Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
• Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. Qualifications are desirable if paired with practical experience which is relevant to this role. We look at individual characteristics with the ability to engage with various people who may not want to receive the support, able to build trusting professional relationships, and able to demonstrate resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive. The Role

Reporting into our Customer and Neighbourhood Director, you'll be responsible for the development of strategies, policies and procedures relating to all tenancy sustainment activities. You'll be the main point of contact internally for all matters relating to tenancy sustainment, working collaboratively across the business to ensure that consistent best practices are embedded within Locality teams and the wider business. Key responsibilities include:

• Working with internal and external stakeholders to provide and source expert advice, and manage the development of services, to ensure SNG meets its commitments, monitors its performance and evidences its delivery relating to regulatory obligations, changing regulations, guidance and best practice

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday on a rota working 09:00 - 17:00, you may also be required to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota for managers.

About the role

This is a great opportunity for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Ealing. You will support the Service Manager in leading a service which provides a recovery focused service to adults with long term mental health challenges. You will support the team to deliver person centred support to improve the lives of our residents, for them to gain greater independence to move onto lower support accommodation. You will do this through providing direct leadership and line management to the team so they feel empowered to perform within their roles. 

You will ensure a quality service is delivered in line with our contractual requirements, and will encourage the creation of a psychologically informed environment, which provides person centred support. Some of what the role includes:

• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
• Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
• Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed
• Property and Housing Management, ensuring the accommodation meets our requirements, and repairs and maintenance are regularly reported and completed

About you

Someone who is knowledgeable in the needs of our residents, particularly around mental health and can support the team in delivering their daily duties. You will have some knowledge and background in mental health, understanding the different complexities which can arise, and able to support others to support the residents to achieve their goals. • Direct experience working in a Health and Social care environment or similar, ideally within mental health
• Understanding of the needs that people who suffer with their mental health have

• Ability to provide advice, support and guidance to a team on all aspects of the service such as resident related enquiries which can include housing, mental health support, signposting
• Ability to promote the service externally to enhance reputation in the area and with partner organisations
• IT proficiency, with the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of software
• Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands and needs of the service. For example, Provide an emergency on call service as and when required in case of emergency

About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school.

What is Shared Lives?

Shared Lives is a little bit like fostering, but it’s for adults who need some support to live as independently as possible. Someone who needs support goes to live with one of our ace Shared Lives carers and they support them to live their best lives, do all the things they love and be part of their communities. PSS invented Shared Lives back in 1978 and it’s now become a national model of care that lots of other social care providers run. We’re really proud of that. It’s the most brilliant, safe and cost-effective form of care there is (and we’re not just biased – in October 2023, CQC rated 97% of Shared Lives schemes in England as good or outstanding, in comparison to just 78% for the wider social care sector!).

We have Shared Lives schemes in seven different places across England and North Wales – and we’ve got big plans to add to that.

What do we need out deputy head of Shared Lives to do?

Alongside the head of Shared Lives, your job will be to make sure each one of the services in Shared Lives is absolutely top-notch in every way:

• They provide excellent support to the people who use our Shared Lives service
• They support people to reach their goals
• Any issues that crop up are dealt with effectively and in line with our policies and procedures

• Getting behind our Shared Lives teams and offering them your support with Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliance, safeguarding reports and complaints
• Leading the way when we win new contacts in new areas of the UK (the plan is to grow our schemes)
• Deputising for our head of Shared Lives: maintaining the risk register for services, identifying, managing, monitoring and escalating risks appropriately when our head of Shared Lives isn’t around

The Role
We are seeking a Marketing Executive (Commercial) to help us deliver this vision, driving impactful marketing and communications campaigns that support our commercial ambitions, grow engagement and strengthen our long-term sustainability.  This role will deliver multi-channel campaigns that raise awareness, drive engagement, and support commercial revenue across areas such as venue hire, weddings, groups, film location hire, tenancy, and Master Ropemakers Ltd. A key part of the role will be supporting the re-launch of Commissioner’s House, our flagship hospitality venue, reopening in 2026.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working closely with your marketing colleagues, you will create and manage content, update commercial website pages, deliver targeted email campaigns, support social media and advertising activity, and coordinate photography/videography projects. You will also collaborate across departments to promote a wide range of commercial services and contribute to the Trust’s long-term strategic objectives.

You will bring experience in marketing and campaign delivery, with strong marketing skills and the ability to create engaging, audience-focused content. Highly organised and creative, you will be confident managing multiple projects, maintaining attention to detail, and working both independently and as part of a team. St John Ambulance is partnering with Robertson Bell in their search for a Finance Business Partner (Volunteering) to join their high performing team on a permanent basis. St John Ambulance is England's leading, volunteer-powered first aid charity dedicated to first aid education and emergency response across England. They are committed to ensuring that everyone receives the help they need in a health crisis from those around them.

The Finance Business Partner in Volunteering is responsible for providing the first line of support and assistance with the development of financial plans, analysis of the financial performance and forecasts of the Volunteering businesses. They will be a key member of the Financial Planning and Insight team to ensure delivery of the annual three-year budgeting process, that is aligned to strategic operational plans.

St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.

The key duties of this Finance Business Partner will be as follows:

• Provide impactful and effective finance business partnering to St John Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams.
• Deliver high quality business and financial analysis, with detailed outcomes and benefits, to identify and present coherent rationales for change, to support effective delivery of services.
• Work with the relevant stakeholders, to timetable in the production of the charity’s monthly management accounts, the annual budgeting and in-year forecasting process.
• Drive continuous improvement in St John’s financial management reporting, forecasting and analysis.
• Utilise technology and tools to continuously improve the presentation and content of the charity’s financial management reports.
• Provide clear and understandable narrative to stakeholders and the rest of the team, advocating good accounting principles.
• Identify and implement cost and efficiency savings, without compromising the quality of the service and accuracy of the reporting.
• Work with business partners to provide the financial analysis and appraisal for business cases.

The successful candidate will have:

• A full professional accountancy qualification (CCAB or CIMA).
• Ideally, experience in the charity sector and working in large complex organisations.
• Significant experience in management accounting processes.
• Demonstrable, previous, extensive experience in a finance business partner role.
• Track record of supporting the end-to-end processes for in-year forecasts and annual budgets.
• Experience in dealing with a stakeholders at all levels, internal and external.
• Excellent influencing skills, with confidence and gravitas to respectfully challenge.

This role is being offered Nationwide within the UK, with only occasional travel required to an office for key in-person meetings. Applicants must be willing and able to attend occasional meetings in the evenings, via Teams. TOIL and flexible working arrangements facilitate this.
