The post holder will support Children, Young People, and Young Adults in our Emotional Health & Wellbeing services based in Gateshead by offering low intensity support under a brief intervention framework.

The nature of the Emotional Health & Wellbeing services the ability to build relationships quickly, identify risks, and process further support is vital.

Skills

Who we are
The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.
Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.
Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.
Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

We are looking for someone to carry out maternity cover for our Programme Manager (Midlands & North). The Programme Manager role purpose is to lead on all aspects of service delivery within the Midlands & North area, which currently covers the following hubs: Birmingham, Solihull, Leicester, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Liverpool, Warrington & Oldham. This is a 10 month fixed term role with the opportunity to extend employment at the end of the contract.
This includes accountability for the delivery of our in person services, digital delivery (Player Profiles), impact, employability, regional fundraising, regional partnerships, business development and people across all regions in the Midlands & North. You will directly line manage at least 3 people but be responsible for a wider team of circa 15 people.
This is a varied and hands on role that will be full of purpose. You’ll be joining a supportive and driven team that works hard to help young people change their lives. As a manager you will play a key part in the leadership of the organisation and driving the implementation of strategic plans on the ground.

In this varied and rewarding role you will engage, motivate and support young carers and in doing so you will make a real difference to young carers within Surrey.
You will be based at our offices in Burpham, Guildford for approximately one day a fortnight, with access to hotdesking at any time. Your remaining working hours will be spent engaging with young carers within youth settings, schools or other settings or undertaking planning/recording work from home. - To update the database and SYC webpages– for example to update young carers records and update details of planned youth clubs.
- To provide signposting and advocacy to Young Carers and their families.

- To facilitate a program of on-line activities (i.e. via zoom) to young carers.
About you
You must:
- Be confident in encouraging children, young people and their parents/carers to engage with our activities.
- Have experience of working with children, young people and families. e.g. in youth services /voluntary sector / social work settings.
- Have awareness of issues surrounding Young Carers.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours, as regular planned weekend and evening work is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate people work closely with services users to change and save lives. You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance misuse work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed supporting clients to make positive changes in order to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider drug strategy.
Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance misuse, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of our service users to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.
Experience of working with drug and alcohol misuse and individuals is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. We are seeking an Advanced Recovery Practitioner to support in the Women and Families team, within Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, working in partnership with Turning Point and Antidote. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in working within a substance misuse treatment and recovery setting, must have specialist training and supervision in one or more complexities alongside substance misuse. This may be mental health, long term conditions, criminal justice, offending behaviour, homelessness, motivational interviewing, safeguarding, family work. Have an understanding of risk and risk management, as it applies to substance misuse and complexity. Have a working knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults framework, the ability to follow procedure and development of a culture of safe practice. Ability to work under pressure and have significant experience of working in health and social care.

Substantial experience gained managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs is a given, as well as being outcome driven and able to lead by example using your firm but inclusive management style. What's more, you're great at managing conflicting priorities on time, have a flexible attitude to working hours and are willing to participate in on call arrangements. The service operates two sleep-ins per night (paid at £78.30 per 10-hour sleep-in) and an on-call rota (paid at £18.00) to cover a sleep-in/day shift in the event of absence – applicants should be flexible and available to cover sleep-ins and fill in on the on-call rota where needed.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are now inviting suitable candidates to apply for the role of Senior Employment Advisor. We need to swiftly build a team of around 20 Employment Advisors and Senior Employment Advisors, so there are multiple opportunities available to applicants. These roles will be guided and supported by a Service Lead, as well as Twining’s established and experienced Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.

THE ROLE – SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISORS
Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs) will manage a team of Employment Advisers to provide supervision, training, caseload management, and role modelling best practice approaches to job retention. The SEA will play a pivotal role in managing a high-quality service that meets the exacting standards of our commissioners and delivers positive outcomes for service users.
Providing vision and direction, you will lead the development of our network of relationships, building capacity and ensuring the success of our job retention services across all providers. Making sure our clients receive the best service to meet their needs, you will be comfortable in managing contracts against our agreed service objectives and performance outcomes. Uppermost in your mind, will be building strong collaborative working relationships in your community with our partners.
This role would ideally suit someone experienced in employment support and managing a small team, however, we will consider applicants with transferable skills from relevant fields (e.g. psychology, counselling, human resources or recruitment).
SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Manage a high performance, quality-driven service. You will be required to lead by example in line with our values, motivate the team and demonstrate best practice principles of delivering a job retention service. This will include managing direct reports and working alongside managers and frontline staff and members of partner/commissioner organisations.
2. Deliver a role with a dual responsibility to clinical partners/therapeutic services and Twining, while complying with Twining’s internal procedures and all relationships, both internally and externally.
3. Monitor and manage performance of the Employment Advisors (EAs), carry out monthly 1-2-1 meetings, quarterly performance appraisal reviews, managing the full spectrum of employee relations issues, the wellbeing of your staff and guiding EAs both individually and collectively on the achievement of individual and team performance targets.
4. Manage a small caseload advising and supporting clients to address problems in the workplace to help them return to work, remain in work, or find new employment.
5. Submit accurate, timely monthly reports to the Service Lead and any other management information requested on the performance and delivery of the service.
6. Produce regular monitoring reports for external stakeholders, including commissioners.
7. Create a culture of continuous improvement, taking ownership for problems, adopting forward thinking strategies for improvement in everything we do and take the lead on making change happen.
8. Identify barriers for service excellence and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions to ensure a high-performance service.
9. Identify, devise and lead on the training needs of staff and arrange appropriate training to support with continuous professional development.
10. Support the design and delivery of in-house staff training and development (including facilitating peer learning and best practice).
11. Lead on presentations, network meetings, site meetings or any other people-facing activity required of the service.
12. Coordinate the work of EAs to build relationships with local employers to access the hidden labour market, external agencies and delivery of job seeking groups.
13. Provide solution focused monthly supervisions and case management for each EA as well as those with other providers/partners.
14. Guide, mentor and coach the EA team to deliver on objectives that will assist in helping a programme participant to return to work and decrease the likelihood of further absence in the future.
15. Ensure that client satisfaction is a high priority in everything we do and facilitate a range of opportunities for them to feedback on the service whether through surveys, interviews or other platforms and use the information gained to review and develop the service.
16. Involve service users in co-production of service developments where possible.
17. Meet with line managers from partner organisations to discuss and agree priorities and work plans.
18. Attend network meetings, or other partnership working and team meetings, as appropriate.
19. Develop relationships with local employers in order to promote good practice approaches to managing mental or physical health in the workplace.
20. Develop relationships with a range of external agencies that help individuals to achieve their employment goals.

THE OPPORTUNITY

THE ROLE – EMPLOYMENT ADVISORS
The new Employment Advisors (EAs) will work within the West London NHS Talking Therapies provision. They will work one-to-one with a caseload of clients referred by NHS Talking Therapies therapists to find employment, remain in existing work if they are struggling, improve their working environment, return to work following sickness or positively leave or retire from work.
You will primarily fulfil these duties by providing information, as well as advice and guidance to clients who choose to receive employment support. The work should empower clients to make better decisions about their working lives, as well as communicate better with colleagues and managers in existing roles. You will also signpost clients to other relevant support agencies, as appropriate.
This role would suit someone with a background in employment support, psychology, counselling, human resources or recruitment.
EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Engage a mixed caseload of clients at any given time serving 100-125 per year, with common mental health problems, to establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them to find new employment or support them in, or to leave, existing employment. Support will be provided face-to-face in Talking Therapies settings, via secure online meeting platforms or over the telephone.
2. Along with their NHS clinician, assess clients’ support needs with a view to creating, implementing, and adjusting a personalised action plan to help improve clients’ mental health and achieve their stated employment goals.
3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to support clients to find work, including career guidance, job searching skills, CV preparation, application form completion, interview skills, advice on local labour market opportunities and advice on education and training to further their career.
4. Provide guidance to support clients to stay in existing work, including advice on mental health disclosure, negotiating reasonable adjustments to existing workplaces, creating wellness action plans, and improving productivity, support to return to work after sickness absence or to leave an existing role with dignity, and signpost clients to organisations that can represent them (EAs should only look to represent clients in exceptional circumstances).
5. Facilitate access to other advice in areas such as financial benefits, debt management, food banks and community food outlets and social housing providers, as necessary.
6. Work directly with partners like Jobcentre Plus, other employment providers, employers, trade unions and employment agencies to support clients to stay in employment and secure employment opportunities.
7. Build a constant flow of referrals from the clinical team to ensure a dynamic and mixed caseload.
8. Meet referral and performance targets in line with the specific KPI / SLA requirements of the service.
9. Regularly attend team and other meetings as reasonably expected.
10. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.

Key tasks will include:

- Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the NHS, health care and social care professionals to inspire and enable them to feel engaged and supported to co-create and prescribe a Nature Prescription, and to connect RSPB with the health sector to help create doors for future work.
- Engage with local healthcare professionals and community groups to co-design Nature Prescriptions materials with local people, community groups and healthcare professionals so that they reach a large diversity of people, and those that need and can benefit the most.
- Develop the project plan and ensure that the right governance structure for project management is in place and RSPB internal project management practices are followed, so that the project stays on track, comes in on budget and risks are identified, escalated, and managed within tolerances.
- Work with local environmental networks to build a picture of nature-based activities available and identify opportunities for partnership working.
- Lead on developing ways to evaluate and measure the impact of the project, including engaging with those prescribing and local communities to gather stories and case studies that demonstrate the benefits to wellbeing and connectedness to nature.
- Build internal relationships with RSPB employees and volunteers working with nature prescribing and nature and wellbeing across the UK.
- Develop a strategy and plan for Nature and Wellbeing work legacy aiming to learn from the work done in Scotland and England and from the communities and health care professionals in Cardiff and surrounds to support development of future work in Cardiff and beyond.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Experience of working within or alongside the health and wellbeing sector.
- Project management experience with experience of leading on and developing and delivering projects with diverse communities.

Roots to Wellbeing project aims:
- Provide a safe and inclusive space for participants to receive weekly support.

- Support participants to access other beneficial services, where appropriate, including health, social and financial.
- Support participants to move onto outdoor work or volunteering with friends of groups where appropriate.
- Facilitate a positive journey through the service for participants to ensure as many people as possible can access the service.
The role
The roles has four main areas of work:
1. Leadership and management:
- Lead the Roots to Wellbeing team to reach its goals.
- Line manage and support three Mental Health Officers, each delivering Roots to Wellbeing on one site.
- Work with local communities and other team members to explore new opportunities for the project and develop solutions.
- Work with CEO and Head of Fundraising to secure funding for project development.
2. Project management:
- Oversee the delivery and development of the project to meet key KPIs.
- Collate qualitative and quantitative data and produce impact reports for funders.
- Support team to ensure administrative records are kept up to date, including but not limited to: maintaining accurate participant records, work programme, incident reporting, risk management, external outreach, website.
- Develop a thorough communications strategy and build on current local referral relationships to further embed the programme within the VCSE & Health sector.
- Ensure service standard and quality is consistent across sites and policies and procedures are followed.
- Recruit and induct volunteers to support session delivery.
- Work in partnership with stakeholders within and across the organisation to deliver project goals.
- Attend networking meetings and community events to raise awareness of the project and demonstrate its impact.
3. Session delivery at Hartcliffe Millennium Green:
- Continually build and maintain relationships with local referral partners to achieve a consistent referral rate into the project.
- Deliver weekly Roots to Wellbeing sessions by; planning and facilitating delivery of sessions and activities in line with 5 pathways to nature connectedness and that are accessible to all participants, organising logistics of sessions such as travel, food and equipment, acting as safeguarding lead during sessions, liaising with co-facilitator, leading peer-support style check in at the beginning of the sessions and the grounding and meditation at the end.
- Lead on all direct communication with participants at Hartcliffe Millennium Green. Support them to create personalised development plans, signposting and referrals where needed.
4. Other:
- Support the work of the wider charity and specifically the South Bristol team as required.
- Representing the charity externally through media work and presentation where necessary.

We are looking to recruit a Prevention and Postvention Therapeutic Practitioner to enhance our existing team at our registered charity - Jacob Abraham Foundation.
We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic individual with a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with mental health and working/supporting service users with suicide intervention and prevention. Experience in working with clients with suicide ideation, along with a therapeutic skillset or experience in therapeutic support / and or, practitioner level competence preferred. Experience in working with individuals with drug/alcohol use is desirable.
As a service, we primarily offer suicide intervention and bereavement support, both 1-1 and group sessions, along with community training. As a Therapeutic Practitioner, you will be providing a preventative, person centred intervention and safety planning support system to people accessing the service who may be experiencing suicide ideation, engaging in suicide behaviours and/or individuals bereaved through suicide.
The service we offer is 1-1 person centred and tailored to the individual based on level of intervention they need, sessions can be held where the clients feel comfortable ie, park / coffee shop /our wellbeing centre / online or telephony. Knowledge of safety planning is essential and signposting service familiarity would be beneficial.
Ability to multi-skill across prevention and postvention therapy is necessary. The role is best suited to an individual with counselling/therapeutic qualifications and/or a registered mental health nurse. Accreditation to recognised affiliated bodies is required.
Diaries and client lists are managed by the individual therefore a high level of professionalism, organisational and time management skills are required.
