This role as Senior Practitioner within our Domestic Abuse services will provide housing advice and advocacy support to LGBTQ+ people who require housing support to leave a domestic abuse situation or require longer-term resettlement. The role will provide direct line management to our specialised domestic abuse case workers delivering our services across PAN London. The mission of Stonewall Housing’s Advice and Advocacy team is to help people understand their rights and navigate their housing options (within the statutory housing system or through private sector resources) in order for them to have somewhere safe to live. This team assesses service users’ housing needs, provides them with immediate advice and signposting, and, where necessary, provides advocacy casework to ensure service users can access what they are entitled to.

We will be holding phone screenings for this position on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th of July.

Key responsibilities

• Providing a high-quality, flexible and responsive advice and casework service toLGBTQ+ people, supporting them to exercise their rights and get access to safeaccommodation.
• Having sound working knowledge of the statutory housing framework in order toprovide responsive and decisive guidance to caseworkers.
• Assessing the individual needs of each service user and providing a bespokeadvice and advocacy plan.
• Providing excellent supervision of direct reports, ensuring they are supported,monitored, and granted opportunities for development.
• Ensuring operational excellence in both own practice and that of direct reports byundertaking regular case reviews and file audits.
• Promoting a healthy working environment where every team member feelsrespected, valued, and recognised.
• Supporting the Service Manager and contributing to the innovation of our adviceservice delivery, seeking new opportunities for growth and development, andidentifying trends so we are maximising the support we offer to our clients.
• Ensuring a high level of customer care and practice at all times.

Main duties
Direct Line Management

• To draw up a supervision agreement with each member of staff, setting the toneof your working relationship and establishing a rapport.
• To give consistent, regular support to direct reports through supervision, case fileaudits and case reviews according to policy.
• To provide an annual appraisal, setting goals for staff members and ensuring theyhave a solid understanding of Key Performance Indicators.
• To identify any poor practice and discuss it directly with the member of staff witha view to making improvements and achieving operational excellence.
• To establish a leadership role in the team, providing support, monitoring anddevelopment.

Casework Sessions

• To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our Advice and Advocacyservice and to provide proactive support to these service users who aresometimes hard to engage.
• To assess each individual’s current housing situation and form a view with regardsto risk associated with their case.
• To explore all options available to the service user allowing them to make informeddecisions.
• To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing the Advice and Advocacy service todevelop and review individual work plans and risk assessments.
• To have regular casework sessions to provide structured support, in relation toHousing specific issues.
• To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive thenecessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independentliving skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health, and accessmeaningful occupation of their time.

Liaison with Landlords / Other Agencies

• To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocatewhere necessary.
• To support service users to contact local authorities, and voluntary and privatesector landlords to report anti social behaviour issues and advocate wherenecessary.
• To support service users to present to local authorities as homeless, whereappropriate, and advocate where necessary.

Other duties

• To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work.
• To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information.
• To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation tofunders and other key areas.
• To participate in individual and clinical supervision meetings, annual appraisals andtraining.
• To act in accordance with the organisation’s Diversity Policy, Health and SafetyPolicy, Code of Conduct and all other corporate policies and procedures.
• To act in the best interests of Stonewall Housing and its service users at all times.
• To promote Stonewall Housing at external meetings and community events.
• To carry out any other duties commensurate with the aims and objectives of thepost that may be required.

The Junction is an out of hours “calming café” service which is open 365 days of the year to support people experiencing pre and/or mental health crisis. The aim of the project is to alleviate the need for people within the Swindon locality to access A&E and/or acute mental health services.

We are looking for a Practitioner (Criminal Justice Outreach Worker) to join our team in Aylesbury.

Your challenge? To provide advice, assessments, brief and structured interventions and group programmes. As a Practitioner (Criminal Justice Outreach Worker) in this role you will be the initial contact for referrals into the service from the courts and probation for clients who are being considered for a community sentence treatment requirement, conducting initial assessments via telephone, face to face and offering relevant and appropriate advice, harm minimisation, family interventions risk assessment and management, actioning onward referrals to partner agencies. Facilitating comprehensive assessments and interventions for people who are attending court or have recently been released from prison to encourage engagement in services. You will also be required to manage a caseload.

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. As well as good knowledge of alcohol/drug and health related issues, you're used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and comfortable engaging with clients in a variety of service delivery settings. You will also have the ability to collaborate and work professionally with service users, families and external agencies to provide a service which maximises outcomes for service users. What’s more, you have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality and excellent record keeping and Microsoft Office.

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

Youth Diversion Practitioner

We are looking for an experienced young people's practitioner. You will be confident in your work with young people and join our dynamic, ambitious team.

Youth Diversion a new team within the Children's Society East. The Youth Diversion practitioner will offer a community-based assertive outreach programme focused on early intervention and targeted prevention for those young people identified as most at risk of becoming involved in substance use.

This role links with our Essex Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service (EYPDAS) . EYPDAS work with young people aged up to 25 years old who require support for substance or alcohol use. We neither condone nor condemn use but support young people on a voluntary basis to create a care plan that suits their needs and motivations. EYPDAS sits within the established All Age Recovery Co-ordination Service (AARCS), which we deliver in partnership with Open Road, supporting young people, adults and families affected by substance misuse.

In order to be successful with this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have extensive experience of: -

Delivering direct interventions with vulnerable young people (8-25) on both a one to one and group work capacity. As well as working to support the family network.

Co-producing care and safety plans with young people that are young people led, focusing on both a relational & strength-based approach.

Extensive partnership working in a multi-agency environment to ensure that the needs and wishes of the young person are heard and acted upon.

You will work as part of a team and need to be able to work in a flexible way which includes flexing their day and work location as need indicates, including being based in the locality office in Chelmsford and working in the home environment to increase convenience and accessibility

You will need to demonstrate that you have:

-A relevant professional qualification working with vulnerable children and families is desired e.g., Diploma/degree in social work, counselling qualification, professional youth worker or related NVQ or degree. Or Substantial relevant experience of working with vulnerable young people facing significant challenges within this sector.

-Experience of working with vulnerable young people and families that are hard to reach and from diverse backgrounds on both a one-to-one basis and through group work interventions.

-Experience of supporting adolescents who are dealing with complex and sensitive issues through offering advice and advocacy.

-Experience of partnership and multi-agency working.

-Experience of working on one's own and within a team.

-Experience of using IT based case management systems.

Children & Young People’s Residential Practitioners
Location: Working exclusively at our all-female Children’s Home, Yvonne House, SW8 (Zone 2)
Salary: £27,400 to £29,000 pa + benefits (pro-rata)

The setting is an all-female Children’s Home for 13-to-17-year-olds. Whilst the home is stunning, modern, and purpose-built, our greatest asset is our people.

Part-time Practitioners work two 12-hr shifts per week. One shift Monday to Friday plus either a Saturday or a Sunday shift. You will also need to be available for meetings, training, and group thinking space – these take place on Fridays from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The total number of working hours is 27hrs per week.

This role is to deliver a co designed menu of support, in collaboration with The National Autistic Society, Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust, and Barnardo’s. We are recruiting for two wellbeing practitioners for our services in Brent and Harrow. The posts are part of services commissioned between Anna Freud and London Borough of Harrow (Harrow Horizons Early Intervention Service) and London Borough of Brent (Brent Targeted Mental Health and Wellbeing Service).

The services offer brief evidence-based individual and group interventions to address moderate wellbeing needs largely using CBT-based treatment, trauma informed and Mentalization approaches. Work is also conducted jointly with existing professionals where young people present with more complex needs to strengthen the skills and competencies in the multi-agency network. The work takes place on an outreach basis in schools, family homes and other community venues as well as being conducted virtually.

The Wellbeing Practitioner role will be suited to those individuals with skills and experience of working directly in schools/community and who are passionate about delivering high quality evidence-based intervention on a time-limited basis.

The post-holder will also deliver consultation, training, and workshop to non-mental health staff, such as teachers and social workers with other clinicians in the service.

We are looking for three Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) to join our team in Aylesbury.

The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups. 

A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activites, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

Birmingham Young People’s Service provides holistic support services for young people 10 to 25 with needs related to alcohol and substance misuse, including those that are affected by a family members alcohol and substance misuse.

Which will need a flexible working pattern from the successful candidate. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health, social care, education, youth provision, and criminal justice.

As an energetic and confident self-starter, you will have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above, Dip SW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the health & social care field, education settings, alcohol, and substance misuse fields with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.

Who we are: Bromley & Croydon Women’s Aid is a well-established, innovative and forward-thinking local domestic abuse service. We are seeking a self-motivated, flexible and experienced individual to join our dynamic team to help us deliver excellent services to vulnerable women who have experienced domestic abuse and be committed to working in a non-discriminatory manner.  

About the role:  We are recruiting an Advocate Educator to work closely with GP practices in Bromley borough. You will promote the IRIS programme and offer training to GP practice staff, as well as providing one to one emotional and practical support to a caseload of clients experiencing domestic abuse.  IRISi is an evidence-based domestic abuse training and referral programme developed specifically for general practice, currently being delivered across 30+ areas of England and Wales. The successful applicant will have:  

• Experience of working with victims and survivors of domestic abuse and an understanding of the barriers to accessing support services 

• Experience of promoting services and building strong working relationships with external organisations  

• Experience of delivering training to a range of professionals  

• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle in order to travel to GP practices across Bromley
