Our purpose is to create space where mental health comes first. We do this through working in partnership with other agencies and providing services in a trauma-informed way. This role will work collaboratively within Manchester City Council’s multi-disciplinary Thriving Families Team alongside domestic abuse, substance misuse and family help workers to support families where children are open to Child Protection or Child In Need Plans. The aim is to ensure that children, young people and their families are better able to access appropriate support services leading to improved understanding and management of their mental health.

The Mental Health Practitioner will build collaborative and kind relationships where people feel heard and understood, enabling people to access services and navigate routes to support. The role is based within the Council’s Thriving Families team and referrals are received directly from Social Workers. You will offer a range of tailored support to adults and children in the family including delivering 1:1 psycho-social support interventions around anxiety, grief and trauma, community advocacy, making referrals, communicating with health/social care and assisting in addressing practical needs.

Salary: £32,271

Contract: Initially for 12 months (extension possible dependent upon funding)

Hours:  35 hours per week

The type of skills and knowledge that are important to us are:

· Experience of working in a psycho-social way with the whole family delivering interventions for people experiencing mental health problems.

· Knowledge or experience of the issues that people with lived experience of poor mental health face and the impact this has on their lives.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

Our Triage Team act as the front door into our service working within a multi-disciplinary team to provide triage and early intervention support to individuals of all ages and risk levels affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, including those with harmful behaviours.

This varied and rewarding role involves providing trauma responsive support to our service users as well as advice and support to partner agencies through our dedicated duty line. Our duty line operates Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm and allows for service users and professionals to get a quick response from our service.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Working with Vulnerable People and Risk Management

• Provide a trauma-responsive service to individuals of all ages and risk levels who have been affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking including those with harmful behaviors.
• Demonstrate specialist knowledge of domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking and behaviour change including the associated risks to victims, perpetrators, and the wider family unit.

Barnardo's are commissioned to deliver the services in the Children and Family Centres in Warwickshire in partnership with a wide variety of agencies offering activities to children, young people and parents/carers. Rugby Children and Family Centres are recruiting for an Early Years and Children's Practitioner to deliver a range of services including groups activities , 1:1 support and courses. Our work is all about making the biggest impact during the journey of a child's life.

 The service aims to offer sessions during the day, after school and on weekends. 

The Early Years and Chidlren's  Practitioner will join an experienced team delivering activities at our 3 centres and all our outreach sites in Rugby and the surrounding borough. This role is a part time role for 27 hrs per week (all year round)

This post requires a good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and child development. Experience of working with the 5-19 yr age groups (up to 25yrs for SEND) would also be an advantage.

The post-holder will be based at GMRC but work alongside TRC and MASH women’s services and work within the pathfinder partnership, across all partner organisations, providing high quality, evidence based, low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based interventions using a guided self-help model, to clients with who have experienced sexual trauma but also have additional mental health needs.

Rape Crisis South London is looking for a skilled, passionate Family Prevention Practitioner to join a growing children and young person’s counselling team.  The successful candidate must be a qualified therapist with significant experience in providing family intervention work from a trauma informed environment. 

The Family Prevention Practitioner will be part of RCSL clinical team which facilitates innovative, responsive, trauma-informed and culturally responsive services for women and girl survivors.

YMCA What is Sexual Exploitation (WiSE) is our child sexual exploitation project which works with children and young people across Sussex and Surrey. Our primary focus of work is supporting young people affected by exploitation through raising awareness, education and empowerment.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the WiSE team as a Male Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Practitioner. This role involves providing specialist support, working across Sussex and Surrey to provide case work support and group interventions to boys and young men at risk of or experiencing sexual exploitation, as well as those exhibiting harmful sexual behaviour. You will deliver outreach sessions in various settings, collaborate with professionals to support interventions leading to prosecutions, and provide training on boys/young men and sexual exploitation.

Due to the sensitive nature of the client group and in order to ensure that the young people feel safe, supported and understood, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be male, as permitted under the Equality Act 2010.

A full driving licence and access to a car are essential due to the wide geographic area covered by the service. You will be required to visit head office in Hove once a week for an anchor day. The other days will be across Sussex and Surrey in the community

In delivering the role, the key responsibilities are:

• Carry a caseload of boys and young men identified as exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours and/or being sexually exploited
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to provide intensive and holistic support
• Maintain detailed case notes and contribute to reports
• Facilitate group work interventions in schools, accommodation projects and youth groups
• Deliver detached sessions in various settings to engage at-risk boys and young men
• Provide expertise and increase awareness of harmful sexual behaviour and sexual exploitation
• Contribute to WiSE Child Exploitation training and awareness campaigns

Experience and Knowledge:

• Proven experience in safeguarding young children
• Experience providing casework support to boys and young men
• Group work experience with young people

• Knowledge of risks posed to vulnerable young people through sexual exploitation and harmful sexual behaviour
• Significant knowledge and understanding of boys and young men and their lives

Qualifications:

• Qualification in Youth Work/Social Work or equivalent, or comparable experience working with vulnerable young people.
