About the Service
The Complex Needs Housing Service works as a multi-disciplinary team with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.
The objectives of the Complex Needs Housing Service are to:
- Improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
- Increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
- Contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- Remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- Reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
- Reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
- Provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
- Work collaboratively within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) consisting of Change Grow Live (CGL), District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.
About the Role
The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:
- To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health and housing.
- To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- Embed a person-centred recovery orientated and trauma informed approach in all aspects of the roles.
We offer:
- Annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 29 days after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)

The Role
Reporting to GSCC’s global Network Director, this role provides vision, leadership and direction to a new global initiative dedicated to accelerating the decarbonisation of buildings. While the initial focus is Europe and India, the role is explicitly designed to scale into a truly global function, requiring a leader with a strong international outlook and experience. The Hub's initial strategy will focus on key countries including United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, France, Spain, and India, working in close collaboration with partners to create public demand, political will, and market momentum for action.

About the role
We are recruiting for a Legacy Giving Officer to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract. This is a home-based role, within South East England (covering Kent, West Sussex, East Sussex, Hampshire & Surrey), with frequent travel across the region and to our Head Office in Central London.
As Legacy Giving Officer you will be responsible for developing and managing all legacy giving activities within the South East region. You’ll represent the Society, raise our profile and promote legacy giving in the region. You’ll be the lead contact for the warmest legacy enquiries in the region and though a framework of excellent stewardship, you will ensure that supporters are converted up through the legacy cycle. About you

BACKGROUND
Church of England Birmingham (CofEB) is on a journey of growing churches at the heart of every community. Through this we are seeing growth in many exciting ways. Financially we are at a challenging point. We have had an operational deficit for a number of years and this cannot continue. The National Church has agreed to partner with us around this through their Diocesan Investment Programme enabling us to have the time, and resource, to tackle this head on. One key aspect of this is for us to increase our Common Fund returns (the giving from our parishes that supports the costs of our life together). We are taking a radical new approach to our finances which includes intentional reallocation of income to support the costs in our most economically deprived parishes and deeper relationships with each parish around finance through conversation rather than correspondence. Over the next five years we are hoping to be able to move to a financially sustainable platform which will enable us to better serve our communities in the future.
We have recently recruited a new Head of Generosity, who is also Bishops Advisor for Common Fund, to lead on this work and we are now looking to recruit the team to work with them. The focus of the team is to develop long term relationships with all of our parishes leading to:
- Greater support for our parishes.
- Increased generosity by, and within, our parishes.
- Increased Common Fund.
The current plan is to recruit two Giving & Generosity Advisor roles and one Giving & Generosity Support Officer role. Together this team will work with all of our parishes to roll out our financial approach, through in person meetings, and the support that is on offer as part of this.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary focus of this role is to work with parishes to:
- Understand their current financial situation and how this links to the wider Church of England Birmingham situation.
- Understand our model and how support is on offer for parishes who are economically deprived.
- Assess with them the support needed to increase generosity and giving at a local level and create an action plan around this that is bespoke and contextual.
- Create a long-term plan for their participation in the common fund.
We have 146 parishes and the Head of Generosity will manage the team so that all parishes can be engaged as quickly as possible. It is the Head of Generosity and two Giving & Generosity Advisors who will be carrying out the in-person meetings with each parish. These roles will work closely with a range of people and teams across Church of England Birmingham so that this work is integrated within our wider strategy and parishes are not confused by multiple disjointed initiatives. This will mean working with Archdeacons and Area Deans, Mission Support Team, Ministry Team, Property Team, Finance Team, Community Regeneration Team and Communications Team as well as others.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop strong relationships with parishes that will enable this project to flourish and also help increase the connection between parishes and the DBF. Signposting to other teams and projects will be important.
- Inspiring and encouraging parishes in their Christian approach to giving and generosity
- Creating bespoke multiyear plans for Common Fund with parishes with the support of a Steering Group that includes the Archdeacons and other key stakeholders.
- Provide consultancy, resources, and hands-on support to parishes to grow regular giving, legacies, and other forms of financial support. This work will be able to draw on the resources developed by the national church as well as the data held on their Cornerstone Grants Platform. The post-holder will be expected to engage in the work of the National Giving Team as part of the development of these wider resources.
- Develop and deliver training for clergy, lay leaders and PCCs on the theology and Christian practice of giving and generosity and also practical financial management (in conjunction with the Finance Team).
- Work closely with the Finance Team in matters of technical accounting, governance and financial management identified as needed by parishes.
- Encourage and assist parishes in the implementation of the Parish Giving Scheme, introduction of contactless giving mechanisms and related diocesan resources.
- Source, develop and curate practical resources (digital and print) to support local stewardship campaigns and initiatives.
- Evaluate the impact of stewardship and generosity initiatives and adapt strategies accordingly to achieve the project outcomes.
- Working with our Communications Team, create compelling communication tools that articulate the impact of generosity.
As we are looking to recruit two people into these roles there is flexibility to appoint people with complementary skill sets who may have greater expertise in certain elements of the role.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The post-holder will be employed by the Diocesan Board of Finance for a fixed term ending on 2nd November 2030, subject to funding.
Salary and Pension: Salary of £35,000 plus membership of the Church Worker’s Pension Scheme with 12% employer contribution. We are open to discussion especially if you are ordained and are moving out of parish ministry.
Hours: Full-time 35 hours (5 days) per week. Weekend and evening work will be required, for which the equivalent time may be taken back from standard working hours. We are happy to consider requests for flexible working and candidates seeking part-time hours. Puropse of Alcohol Recovery Engagement
At our homeless hostel, our Alcohol Recovery and Engagement team deliver high quality, psychologically informed housing and hostel services to vulnerable, single homeless individuals, a number of whom have complex needs. The Public Affairs Officer will work closely with the wider Campaigns and Public Affairs Team which is responsible for JRF's policy influencing and cross organisational influencing strategies. The first six months would focus on relationship building, getting to grips with JRFs processes, laying the groundwork for regular reporting updates. This would include:

- Stakeholder mapping: Identify parliamentarians who may be interested in working with us, build detailed profiles of the issues that matter to them, and maintain a core list of public affairs stakeholders.

About the role
Working closely with colleagues in the policy and public affairs and the research teams you will drive forward EngineeringUK’s engagement with politicians, policy makers and other political stakeholders, ensuring that EngineeringUK’s policy views are heard across Westminster, Whitehall and in the regions. This will mean developing clear engagement strategies and plans with the support of the Head of Policy & Public Affairs focused on nurturing our relationships with MPs and Peers. You will monitor political and policy developments in Westminster and the regions, working closely with policy colleagues in the team, and brief MPs and Peers using EngineeringUK’s research and policy reports and recommendations, ensuring that EngineeringUK’s views are heard in debates in Westminster and across Whitehall. Earthsight is looking for a researcher/campaigner to join our Latin America team, delivering impactful research, analyses and advocacy on forest-risk-commodity supply chains.
Earthsight is a London-based non-profit organisation dedicated to researching and investigating environmental and social crime and injustice. We use cutting-edge investigative methods to uncover and expose wrongdoing. Since emerging as a fully-fledged organisation in 2016, our reports have garnered headlines, won awards and triggered major changes by governments and corporations.
We seek to create positive change by influencing government policy, exposing greenwashing and raising awareness among key constituencies about the impacts of global supply chains on the world’s forests and forest communities.
Most global deforestation is driven by industrial production of a handful of major commodities, including beef, soy, palm oil and wood. A large proportion of this production is to meet demand in major international markets. Earthsight plays a key role in highlighting the complicity of corporations in the EU, UK and US in the destruction of ecosystems and human rights violations overseas. As part of global coalitions, we have succeeded in getting laws developed or passed in all these jurisdictions which aim to eliminate environmental or human rights abuses from these supply chains.
As part of a small team, you will monitor developments in Latin America and with the most important commodities driving deforestation and forest degradation there, including beef, leather, soy, cotton, wood. You will help deliver in-depth investigations which expose large companies for sourcing products linked to horrific abuses, and trigger government action in response.
The position is offered as a full-time permanent contract. The successful candidate would preferably be based in the UK and able to come into our office in London on a regular basis. Main tasks and responsibilities
- Monitor relevant media, NGO, think-tank, government and academic reports on EU, UK and US beef, leather, soy, cotton and wood supply chains linked to biomes in Latin America, particularly Brazil and Paraguay
- Monitor developments with industry lobbying efforts – especially in relation to certification and traceability systems and technologies
- Provide regular summaries from this monitoring to the Latin America Team Lead
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of relevant trade links between key Latin America countries and consumer countries/regions of particular interest (e.g. EU, UK, US), through analysis of third-party reports, raw trade data and shipment records

Earthsight is looking for a researcher/campaigner to join our Southeast Asia and Africa team, delivering impactful research, analyses and advocacy on forest-risk commodity supply chains.
Earthsight is a London-based non-profit organisation dedicated to researching and investigating environmental and social crime and injustice. We use cutting-edge investigative methods to uncover and expose wrongdoing. Since emerging as a fully-fledged organisation in 2016, our reports have garnered headlines, won awards and triggered major changes by governments and corporations.
We seek to create positive change by influencing government policy, exposing greenwashing and raising awareness among key constituencies about the impacts of global supply chains on the world’s forests and forest communities.
Most global deforestation is driven by industrial production of a handful of major commodities, including beef, soy, palm oil and wood. A large proportion of this production is to meet demand in major international markets. Earthsight plays a key role in highlighting the complicity of corporations in the EU, UK and US in the destruction of ecosystems and human rights violations overseas. As part of global coalitions, we have succeeded in getting laws developed or passed in all these jurisdictions which aim to eliminate environmental or human rights abuses from these supply chains.
As part of a small team, you will monitor developments in Southeast Asia and Africa relating to commodity-driven deforestation, including wood, palm oil, cocoa and rubber. You will help to deliver in-depth investigations which expose large companies for sourcing products linked to horrific abuses, and trigger government action in response.
You will lead Earthsight’s monitoring of the global timber industry, and will share your findings and insights with the rest of the team, particularly in relation to the sector’s certification and traceability schemes and technologies.
The position is offered as a full-time permanent contract. The successful candidate would preferably be based in the UK and able to come into our office in London on a regular basis. Main tasks and responsibilities
- Monitor relevant media, NGO, think-tank, government and academic reports on supply chains of palm oil, rubber, cocoa, pulp, paper and wood from Southeast Asia and Africa, particularly Indonesia, West Africa and the Congo Basin, to the EU, UK and US
- Monitor and analyse developments within the global timber industry and trade, particularly in relation to certification and traceability systems and technologies
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of relevant trade links for palm oil, rubber, cocoa, pulp, paper and wood from key countries in Southeast Asia and Africa to consumer countries/regions of particular interest (e.g. EU, UK, US), through analysis of third-party reports and raw trade data and shipment records
- Keep abreast of wider policy and industry developments in key countries in Southeast Asia and Africa, including case studies of deforestation or rights abuses related to the commodities of concern; general deforestation trends; and developments in government policy related to the impact of commodities on forests
- Carry out desk-based research into chosen case studies, drawing on shipment data, company reports and websites, satellite imagery, corporate records and trading websites; and through remote meetings with relevant actors, including researchers and activists in the countries concerned
- Assist in planning and carrying out field research on selected cases if needed. Occasional travel to moderately risky environments may be required
- Provide detailed reports of research findings for internal review
- Assist with turning research findings into published reports, analyses, policy messages and recommendations, films and other external outputs. Tasks may include fact-checking; drafting and editing written outputs; contributing to graphics, videos and other multimedia outputs; and other tasks as required
- Assist with efforts to secure media coverage for reports, analyses and op-eds, including by helping draft press releases and briefing journalists on details of research
- Assist with production of social media content, particularly on LinkedIn
