We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Service Manager (known internally as Project Leader) to lead the Anti-Social Behaviour Service team in Devon and Cornwall, working 37.5 hours a week.

The Role

As a Project Lead for the ASB team you will be:

• Managing a small team of ASB caseworkers including performance management, monitoring and support
• Responsible for allocating cases within the team and analysing statistics and data in order to monitor daily caseloads against resources and look for trends/ pattern of behaviour
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure delivery of the business plan and associated outcomes
• Responsible for capturing data and information to ensure the work of the team is outcome based and evidenced
• The subject matter expert for ASB within the service
• With key partners, developing mechanisms for identifying and referring those affected by ongoing and persistent ASB incidents and crimes, including those not engaged in criminal or civil law processes
• Completing DSO training to prioritise the safety of service users and ensure compliance with safeguarding policy
• Leading on delivery of training to local agencies, organisations and bodies to represent the service and increase knowledge and understanding of issues related to the ASB
• Contributing to and attending monitoring meetings with funders/commissioners and providing reporting when required
• Playing a lead role in developing VS’s ASB work at both local and national levels
• When the service requires, holding a small caseload providing high quality support to service users in line with VS policies and operating procedures.

The role is home-based within Devon and Cornwall and therefore is open to applicants who both live in this area and have access to an appropriately confidential space in which to work.  Regular travel within working hours will be expected across Devon and Cornwall to fulfil the role and travel expenses are paid.  Core service hours are between 9am – 5pm, with the expectation to flex to need where required, managed within flexible working arrangements.

About You

You will need:

• As this role involves regular travel across Devon and Cornwall and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement
• Experience of managing a team
• An understanding of confidentiality and safe working practice in accordance with safeguarding legislation, General Data Protection Regulation and other legal requirements
• Experience of effective delivery of services in the voluntary or statutory sector including complex case management and maintaining case management records
• The ability to build effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders and work directly with in statutory, voluntary or multi agency settings
• High personal resilience to manage demands of working with ASB
• Competent IT and administrative skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages
• The ability to engage with vulnerable service users.

Burnham and Weston Energy CIC is looking for a programme manager to nurture and grow our energy advice service.

The service is delivered by a small team of trained Home Energy Advisors who visit people in their homes to provide advice on how they can save money on their bills and make their homes warmer and healthier to live in. They also install small energy efficiency measures such as LED lights, draft proofing and radiator reflectors. Households are then referred on to further support to help them access welfare payments and grant funding for home upgrades including insulation, boiler replacement and energy efficient appliances. 

The current team of 2 Home Energy Advisors have capacity to deliver around 700 home visits per year. We receive referrals from a range of local organisations. We employ a Programme Co-ordinator to manage and generate home visit referrals and bookings, provide follow up support, and manage events and communications.

From this foundation, our growth objectives for the Home Energy Savings service are to:

• Continue to raise awareness of the service amongst local organisations and the public, and increase the number of referrals and vulnerable householders who benefit.
• Grow the team of Home Energy Advisors as demand requires, to at least double the team by the end of 2025.
• Secure additional funding to support the service.
• Develop partnerships which broaden and deepen the ways we can help households, including unlocking funding and support for energy efficiency retrofit.

Role responsibilities

• ​Manage, mentor and support our team of Home Energy Advisors and the Programme Co-ordinator, and oversee its growth.

• Responsible for team safeguarding, H&S, mental health, team building, mentoring and training;

• Manage the delivery of our Home Energy Saving Service across North Somerset and the former districts of Sedgemoor and West Somerset and Taunton, seeking opportunities to strengthen and grow the service.
• Manage the delivery of grant funder requirements including ensuring KPIs are met, budgets managed and reports provided.
• Manage the delivery of our referral partnership contract with LEAP AgilityEco including ensuring KPIs and contractual requirement are met and that households referred to LEAP receive the best possible support.
• To secure and manage further funding partnerships (such as Redress or MCS funding),
• Responsible for ensuring company policies relating to the advice programme are kept up to date and consistent with requirements or partners. Responsible for ensuring working practice is in accordance with our policies and that risk assessments and management plans are in place and adhered to.
• Manage relationships with organisations referring households to the energy support programme and receiving onward referrals from us.
• Develop partnerships which broaden and deepen the ways we can help households.
• Develop our CRM and IT systems.
• Represent Burnham & Weston Energy at local events and forums, nurture and grow our networks and relationships with local stakeholders and deliver our comms via the website and social media channels.

Essential requiremnts:

• Experience of leading and managing home visit teams including safeguarding, H&S, mental health, risk assessment and management, team building, mentoring and training. Experience of managing front line service teams is more important to us than energy advice experience. We can organise mentoring support from other community energy enterprises who have developed and scaled up local energy advice services.  
• Experience of overseeing complex case work.
• Experience of grant programme and service contract management including management of budgets, KPI delivery, reporting and meeting funder requirements.
• Experience of securing grant and service contract funding including applications, contract negotiation and ensuring funding requirements are in place.
• Committed to and rooted in the communities we serve: Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge, Mark, Winscombe and the surrounding rural areas.
• Understand the local public, community and private sector landscape and be well networked.

Reprieve’s main office is in London, UK. Reprieve also supports full-time fellows, who work as lawyers, investigators and campaigners in the countries in which we work.  About the Role

The Africa Death Penalty Team Project Manager is responsible for coordinating Reprieve’s litigation and advocacy in Sub-Saharan Africa. At the moment, the team works on death penalty casework and abolition advocacy in Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya. Our casework includes work on individual cases on behalf of people facing a death sentence; large-scale projects, such as the Kenya resentencing project, wherein we support stakeholders to ensure 5,000+ people are able to access a chance at reducing their sentence from death via a new sentence hearing; and  long-term regional projects, such as our strategic litigation before the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which challenges the mandatory death penalty, torture, and other associated violations of the African Charter.

Regional context

 There is a trend toward the abolition of the death penalty in Africa. In recent years, countries across the continent have taken the decision to limit the application of the death penalty or to abolish it altogether. This has been seen as a turning away from old laws and systems that were imposed by former colonial governments, which obstructed alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and were designed to remove discretion from the local judiciary. African lawyers and judges are now at the forefront of a wave of progressive jurisprudence on issues related to the death penalty including methods of executions, torture, sentencing practice, conditions of confinement, and intersections of gender, disability, and socioeconomic status with criminal justice. This jurisprudence has become a model for the international movement to limit the death penalty, and is being held up as best practice in jurisdictions around the world.

Contract and location

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model with staff working part of the week from home and part of the week from the office. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.

Your presence is important during core office hours, whether remotely or in the office. You will also be available outside of office hours in the event of an emergency, for example case developments that require urgent action. This is a role that may require travel. 

The annual salary is £50,571 full-time per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

Your day-to-day

You will support the execution of CDPs philanthropic fundraising strategy. 

You will manage a portfolio of strategic, high-value donors, building strong relationships and implementing creative solicitation plans to maximise donor engagement and income.

You will research, develop and secure funding from new donors, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give 7-8 figure grants. 

You will develop an excellent knowledge of CDP’s work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor.

Senior Project Manager - Minsmere Mitigation

We are looking for an energetic, insightful and organised person to help us deliver a resilience project to mitigate the impacts of the Sizewell C development on the visitor experience at RSPB Minsmere.

What’s the role about?

This is a stimulating role which represents an important opportunity to make a significant and direct contribution to enhancing the visitor infrastructure at a flagship RSPB reserve and a key visitor destination on the Suffolk Coast. We’re looking for someone with an understanding of how to prioritise, plan and deliver visitor infrastructure projects.

We need someone who is highly organised and has a good attention to detail. This role requires a collaborative approach, which combines the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure, while working under your own initiative to achieve results to tight deadlines.

Minsmere is one of the most famous bird reserves in the UK and one of RSPB’s most popular reserves. The reserve borders the Sizewell Estate where SZC Co plans to build a new nuclear power station, Sizewell C. The RSPB led a campaign against the potential threats of the Sizewell C development called LoveMinsmere, bringing people together to demonstrate the value of and concern for the reserve and its wildlife.

In July 2022, the UK government approved the application to build Sizewell C, after a lengthy planning process and Examination. As part of the approval, a Resilience Fund was set up for mitigation of the impacts on visitors to RSPB Minsmere.

These impacts will begin as soon as works commence and last for the construction period (currently estimated to last 12 years). This project will enable RSPB Minsmere to maintain a great visitor experience despite these changes. 

The Senior Project Manager will manage a series of infrastructure projects funded by the Resilience Fund. Initially, they will work with the Minsmere team to develop a costed programme of works with agreed priority projects. They’ll then manage consultants and contractors to deliver that plan on the ground.

About the project

Vision: RSPB Minsmere offers an exceptional visitor experience despite the Sizewell C construction works.
Objectives: By Feb 2027, RSPB Minsmere has improved infrastructure that enhances the visitor experience and mitigates the impacts of Sizewell C on the visitor experience.
Outcomes: Maintained quality of visitor experience, retaining the reserve’s income levels.
Outputs (To be kept under review as the project develops):

New visitor infrastructure, likely to include a redeveloped toilet block, car park improvements and play area among other items. Including all designs and consents. 

Consolidation and improved interpretation of Leiston Abbey (first site) as outlined in the Deed of Obligation and improvements to physical access to the site.

Infrastructure enhanced to allow enhanced reserve events programme.

The postholder will be required to work with the following key internal stakeholders:

What we need from you

The Senior Project Manager will lead on the following activities:

• Convening groups of stakeholders and leading sessions to develop the mitigation programme of works.
• Communicating with RSPB colleagues and key stakeholders regularly to report on project progress.
• Managing risks, issues and change as required.
• Producing of a costed programme of works, supported by quotes and/or evidence from similar projects.
• Procuring and managing consultants and contractors to design and deliver the chosen projects.
• Ensuring that consents are in place for all works within the programme
• Working with colleagues to ensure the project programme is reviewed for other opportunities to seek potential funders – to maximise delivery.
• Working to the Resilience Fund budget, including expenditure reporting as required
• Ensuring that all financial records are kept to enable annual financial statements to be produced and to satisfy external audit requirements.

About the Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.

The organisation’s mission is to ‘Restore Dignity and Renew Hope’ to those in our communities brought down by poverty and debt. The job holder will play their part in bringing this vision to reality, supporting clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations, to get back on their feet and realise their full potential.

The role combines both technical and pastoral elements. The role will involve building a client case, untangling sometimes complex situations, liaising with creditors, providing guidance for volunteers, and discerning and communicating the appropriate choices and strategies for the client. But you will also need to lead client appointments and support clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations.

About you:

We are looking for someone with prior debt advice experience who ideally has experience in leading and supervising volunteers.

Essential skills and experience of the Case Manager include:

• Previous experience in providing regulated debt advice on a case management basis
• Being a DRO intermediary would be an advantage
• Demonstrable experience in providing person-focused support to clients who may be vulnerable
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to show empathy, compassion and patience
• Sound IT skills with a strong command of the Microsoft Office suite

We are seeking an organised and driven individual for a maternity cover to lead on our education and training programme, which is facilitating the growth of a talented workforce by inspiring, connecting and retaining the next generation. This is a varied role with a significant focus on events and project management, including special events, as well as engagement activities to raise awareness of career opportunities in the industry. This role will also involve working with specialist education providers to support the provision of industry specific education and training.

A successful applicant will have demonstratable experience of organising and delivering large scale events, timely and cost-effective project management and financial reporting. You will be able to work independently and with a high level of attention to detail and used to prioritising a complex workload. Experience of working in the sector or in a previous educational role is not required.

Job Purpose

• To be the focal point for implementing all Education and Training activity within the Company, and to report back to the Education and Training Committee to maximise its reach and effectiveness.
• To implement several large-scale national events engaging young people, industry and specialist education providers.
• Oversee and steer the activity around a new website to engage young people with possible careers in the industry, ensuring growing engagement with young people and job posters.
• To administer and deliver several small grant programmes which support furniture and furniture students or those working with said students.
• To support and report quarterly to the Education and Training Committee.

Key Responsibilities

Events

• Young Furniture Makers Exhibition - To plan, organise and deliver the annual one-day exhibition showcasing the best new talent to industry. Securing event sponsorship and working with sponsors during the organisation process to ensure positive relationships. Working with over 70 exhibitors, multiple sponsors and external suppliers to ensure a successful event.
• Young Professional Industry Engagement event programme - To plan, organise and deliver the annual three-week programme of CPD visits for a selected group of participants to industry hosts across the UK. Working with participants and over 20 organisations to schedule and deliver the programme.
• Furniture Making T-Level conference – Working with the Chair of the Education and Training Committee and selected members to plan, organise and implement a one-day conference on the practicalities of overing the Furniture T-Level in an educational setting.
• Organise and attend several regional career fairs and trade shows to promote the education and training initiatives and encourage young people to consider a career in furniture and furnishings.
• Plan and organise the content of an Education and Training slot at the annual Furniture Makers’ HR Conference to highlight key events and programmes.
• Ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion is considered in all aspects of Education and Training events.

Grants

• Administer a small annual grants scheme supporting colleges and universities which provide specialist furniture and furnishing education courses.
• Manage a travel bursary scheme to support exhibitors attending the Young Furniture Makers Exhibition.

Website

• Administer the jobs board featured on the My Furniture Career website, screening and approving posted vacancies as well as liaising with those posting jobs to confirm the status of the vacancy, sharing data once the vacancy expires and collecting feedback data from the poster.
• To work with the Digital Officer to agree a schedule of content for the website and its associated social media.
• Work with the Communications Manager and Digital Officer to promote the use of the website by the targeted audience group as well as the HR community to post vacancies to the jobs board.
• Produce a quarterly report detailing the usage and any highlights regarding the website.
• Report any technical issues to the website provider and liaise with them to fix the issue.

Reporting

• Quarterly reporting on activity and budget to the Education and Training Committee.
• Supporting the Committee Chair by setting up Committee meetings and taking minutes.
• Supporting the Committee Chair with any other administration as necessary related to the Committee. 
• Assist with any ad hoc administration as necessary related to the FIESTA Committee.

Miscellaneous

• Assisting the Education and Training Committee Chair with any administration in regard to the Masters Certificate Scheme.
• Send quarterly feedback surveys mentoring participants and collect the data for reporting purposes.
• Work with the Communications and Marketing Manager to promote Education and Training events.
• Keep the Education and Training budget up to date and process all invoices in a timely manner.
• Report back to all event sponsors after any Education and Training sponsored event to keep sponsors updated and aware of the events successes.
