Within our Business Development Team there are two vacancies for Projects & Partnerships Officers.  These roles will each look after specific projects under our management.  Some projects managed by the Community Foundation include the Best Kept Village & Community Competition, Trust Transfer projects, and frontline projects supporting rough sleeping, digital exclusion and care leavers, amongst others.  As well as general administrative tasks, you will help to arrange events which support and promote our projects, create resources and manage relationships with our supporters and donors. About you

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our friendly events team at the British Ecological Society (BES). You’ll need at least one year’s demonstrable experience in delivering high-profile mid-sized events and conferences. You will need a high-level of organisation and reliability as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office, and experience of using a CRM and a hybrid event platform. ROLE CONTEXT

ABOUT ALL SAINTS: There has never been a more exciting time to join the team at All Saints. As part of a new project to revitalise the church for the Island, we are planting the first-ever contemporary service into the Church as part of the HTB network of churches (including Harbour Church Portsmouth). We are currently building an amazing team to bring the vision to life. So, this is a rare opportunity to join a new foundational team and community and to be part of the team that sets the vision, values, and culture for the next phase of ministry at All Saints as we explore what it looks like to play our part in the evangelisation of the nation, the revitalisation of the Church, and the transformation of society.

ABOUT RYDE: Ryde is just a 10-minute journey on the hovercraft from Portsmouth Harbour. Ryde is known as ‘the gateway to the Island with several main travel points located within it. It also has a long stretch of sandy beach and lots of independent shops and cafes. The largest town on the Isle of Wight with a population of 37k. The Church is a landmark on the island with the spire visible from many places around the Isle of Wight and from the mainland projecting beyond the town skyline. The socioeconomic makeup of the town is very mixed and it is a great vibrant place to live and work.

ROLE PURPOSE

This is an amazing opportunity for someone who thrives on operational excellence and loves managing a project to completion to have a hugely impactful and pivotal role in a church entering a new phase of its life. You will be a key part of the leadership team and oversee the operational management of All Saint’s Ryde and assist other Ryde churches in the plurality group; ensuring structures and systems are in place to enable ministry and best use resources within our church, to advance the vision of the church. KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

Oversee Operational Excellence - Oversee the important day-to-day operations of the church and its buildings and hold oversight responsibility for: Project roll-out; Health and Safety; Food Hygiene, Fire Assessment; Risk Management; Infrastructure; GDPR and Accessibility issues.

• Develop and lead the ongoing strategic plan for the church’s activity in consultation with the wider team.

Be the Team – as All Saints has never had a contemporary worship service before, this is really a church-planting opportunity. We’re therefore looking to build a team of people who are energised by helping one another and who want to serve the wider vision of the church rather than work in team- specific silos. While most of your work will be focused on operational excellence, we’re aiming to be a close-knit team who all help each other and where no one is left with too much on their plate or a task they can’t manage. This means we’ll all help you with as needed, but in turn, we expect that you’ll help when needed with other projects as well. We think church is just more fun this way, anyway!

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

It continues previous work by building their capacity, sharing knowledge and trialling innovative systems to help them generate revenue. It is supported by UK Aid’s RISA Fund and the mAkE Project. The Internet of Production is a small, international charity that brings together a global alliance dedicated to building a future of decentralized and distributed manufacturing. We seek to enable a sustainable and globally networked system of production, where products are fabricated using local capabilities and global designs; to complement mass production and global supply chains with ‘production by the masses’ and local enterprise. We work on open standards for networking, support experiments in open digital infrastructures and run projects that develop key parts of a future ‘Internet of Production’ – such as the ‘makerspaces’ in Africa.

Role & Responsibilities:

Supported by the CEO and the previous project manager (now full-time on a parallel project) and working with a small team of project staff, the Project Manager will:

To support and help drive our continued development we now need to strengthen our central, ‘corporate’ services for the charity and its constituent business operations.  These services span HR, finance, management information, compliance, systems and ICT, premises and administration together with project management as required. We have created a new role, Business Support Manager, to lead this step-up in our central services.

The role

The Business Support Manager will lead the development and delivery of best quality, highly responsive business support services helping to ensure administrative excellence, smart systems and processes and fully compliant operations across the organisation. 

Working to the CEO and with the wider management team, the Business Support Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating central services for the charity. You will manage multiple administrative and business functions delivering great service to internal customers in areas spanning: core finance and performance management processes and systems; HR including staff recruitment, induction and workforce development; building and IT management; and quality, compliance and governance including overseeing policies, procedures and documentation. Developing and delivering more efficient, streamlined office operations and workflows for our central administration and operations support is a key focus for the role.

About you

You will be highly organised, efficient and proactive and have:

· At least 3 years experience in a relevant business support/finance administration role

· Excellent financial and administrative skills including expert working knowledge of finance and accounting packages e.g. Quickbooks, Sage and processes e.g. invoicing, debt, monthly, quarterly and annual management finance and accounts, P&Ls

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Strong IT knowledge and capability

· Great analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills

· Understanding of best practice HR administration

· Line management experience 

· Knowledge/understanding of corporate/charity governance desirable.

Location: Central London. We offer flexible and hybrid working but office-based work will be essential on a regular basis.

Salary: £43,000 per annum

Main purpose of role: To manage the day-to-day running of our grant programmes to organisations and support the practical implementation of any new grant programmes from application process through to due diligence and record maintenance.

Main duties and responsibilities:  

Grant management 

• Act as the first point of contact for grants to organisations.
• Manage a portfolio of organisational grants that deliver our theory of change outcomes.
• Provide full grant management of our organisational grants, including: preparing grant deeds, keeping track of payments and reporting requirements, distilling learning, to grant renewal considerations.
• Organise and conduct regular meetings with funded organisations to learn alongside organisations and see the work in action.
• Implement grant making processes that reflect best practice and encourage learning through our grant making. 
• Keep up-to-date with changes and developments in the external environment and work with colleagues to reflect this in strategy and practice.

Grant programme development 

• Undertaking scoping and research for new grant programmes, and developing practical knowledge about new programme areas as required.
• Providing project management support for new grant programmes alongside the Senior Grants Manager.
• Taking a lead on the negotiation of new grant agreements.
• Managing the day-to-day processes required by any new grant programme from concept through to advertising the fund, assessing grant applications, due diligence, writing recommendation papers to trustees, to awarding funding and gathering and sharing learning.

Other activities  

• Working with the Impact team to develop our monitoring and evaluation capabilities with funded organisations.
• Working with the Partnerships and Participation Manager and Policy and Best Practice Manager to ensure that our grant making processes are informed by the key stakeholders. 
• Working with our fundraising and communication team to ensure we are communicating effectively with supporters about our work.

This is a critical senior role in the organisation, reporting to the CEO. The role is responsible for managing the organisation’s programmes across 3 locations in Sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia, managing 10 personnel. The position provides leadership on community-led investigations and evidence gathering and works closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) on critical areas including fundraising and strategic development.   

The priority for this role is the safe and high quality performance of projects. The balance between ‘doing’ and ‘managing’ in this role varies depending on available resources for each project, and the ability to create competent teams to delegate to.

Package: Pay is dependent on location.  The UK salary of £62,000 plus pension contribution will be converted using ICSC scales. All locations receive 28 days annual leave, counselling support and annual wellbeing days.
 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• The development and implementation of strategy and annual plans for the organisation’s direct programming, and its alignment with organisational strategy.

Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity and works with thousands of schools and young people across the UK through its programmes.

Our Education Programmes are focused on engaging primary schools, secondary schools and sixth form colleges across the UK to take part in our programmes and ensure LGBT+ young people can thrive. Just Like Us has already worked with thousands of schools and gained recognition for our Growing up LGBT+ report (2020) and our Positive Futures report (2023). By 2025, we aim to reach more than 60,000 school pupils annually through our programmes.

• Support the Programmes Team to deliver our programmes, including Pride Groups, School Talks and School Diversity Week
